Tab S9 is my first non-Apple tablet. I got tired of waiting for an OLED iPad. With all the freebies that Samsung bundled with the tablet, it's a great value buy.
@@sakshithreddypalupunoori7777 That's correct. I didn't know the M4 iPad Pro eight-nine months ago, back when even the M3 chip wasn't even announced yet. Even if I knew back then, I wouldn't wait 8-9 months for it. S9 is the value buy, even more so today that it's cheaper.
I went with the Tab S9 Ultra as my tablet/laptop. It's a great device. I use a folding phone so I didn't need the smaller form-factor of the regular Tab S9.
I just picked up the Tab S9 and I have to admit that I am impressed. It will never fully replace a Windows computer in my workflows as I use a lot of CAD software and their Android versions are glorified CAD viewers at best. I teach a CAD Technician program at the local college and while my laptop is currently at the IT Dept being re-imaged, I have been able to do all my non-CAD prep on this thing. I plug it into my Dell docking station on my work desk and use Dex on my monitor with my mouse and keyboard. I've heard some people do not like the aspect ratio of the screen compared to iPads, but it's perfect for reading digital comics. The display looks incredible, the speakers sound great, the processor is blazingly fast. I am definitely sitting at my home computer desk at a lot less since getting this gem.
I have the Tab S8. It's superb. Already checks all the boxes you outlined. At least for me, there is no real justification to upgrade, just because of the AMOLED screen or a nano second improvement in clock speed.
The s8 is also completely flicker free, amoled is not - takes a while getting used to for those who are sensitive. I love my s9 but would be just as happy with the s8 as they are mostly identical.
S9 vs. S8 is not a nano second improvement to cpu. It is about 42% faster than a previous model. It has Amoled screen, better speakers, better sound, bigger batery, IP68 rating, on screen finger lock unlock, a little improvement in cameras, Spen magnets are stronger so it doesnt fall of now easy, the Spen latency has much improved...so yes it is improvement and not a small one. It is the most improved one it the whole S series from the beginning. There was 2 to 3 upgrades between series but this S9 has now much much many to offer. It is no significant upgrade between S5 to S6, from S6 to S7 especially not to S8. This S9 is an upgrade. Hmmm S10...Snapdragon 8gen 3 cpu 😊. You can grab S8 now for very good prices. It is still a powerfull beast of a tablet with superb Lcd panel which will last longer then amoled. Lcd is good especially for those people who are suffering from a flickering which amoled does.
I traded in my S8 for the S9 and I dont regret it at all. I actually do think it was worth the upgrade. Mine came with the slim keyboard case too and I was surprised by how much I like it. Its definitely a nice add on to have.
Thank you for this Samsung series. Please continue it! I too am an Apple user trying switching to the Samsung ecosystem with a Galaxy phone a Tab S8+ and a Samsung laptop. So far, everything is working very well! Your videos are always very helpful and informative. Thanks, again!
I have the tab s9+ and it is easily my favorite thing in the world. I use it for work, Journaling, media consumption, and hopefully soon, podcasting. I've had ipads in the past and it just doesn't compare.
I just pulled the trigger on the S9 Ultra 1TB, 16GB RAM version. Got a steal on a Best Buy Open Box deal. Cannot wait for that bad boy to come in and fingers crossed it is all good!! Appreciate the content man
Great review as always! Agree with you 100 percent - this device is just stellar in every possible way. Imagine if anyone told you 5 years ago that you can edit 4k videos on a tablet? I actually returned my 256 gb version as the 128 gb was 300$ off on sale-got this instead. Even the most basic model is such a joy to use. Best tech buy in a while! Love the dex mode!
Use an iPad Air 3, just changed to Tab S9, delivery tomorrow and cant wait. I have an S23 phone and it’s excellent, some great functions which gives a better experience than Apple in my view. So a great package combination.
An important note: android/ios tablets have an expiration date due to updates. I have an ipad thats rendered almost useless because of this, some essential everyday apps are no longer working properly (or not working at all). Never again! They have a pre determined expiration date the moment theyre shipped. "Keep them hungry, keep them poor" mindset. I will only buy "hybrid tablets/notebooks" running windows from now on, even if it means saving for something like a galaxy book3 or a surface even.
Tab S8 has been a great companion for me as an Apple user. It’s so nice to use. It allows me to run the occasional android app if I need it. I have some emulators loaded on it for on the road. Works better for me than my iPad.
Dex is great, however, Android apps are not designed to handle it. In a real multitasking, you very often need two instances of the same app - say two word documents, or two windows of your e-mail client to copy things back and forth. This is still something that Android cannot handle and not even Dex is able to solve it, because each individual app developer would have to re-design their apps from scratch to handle multiple instances. Many apps also do not react well to being run in windowed mode. They tend to crash or have their GUI broken. I hope that future versions of Android will be able to solve this issue.

I've been using my s8+ for a year now and I really like it. Mostly for videos and taking notes for uni. The samsung book cover like accesori with the folded screen protector that lets you take notes smoother than just on the glass screen is really worth it.
Great video as always. I need your advice. I have the Tab S8, and I love it. I just bought the Book Keyboard Cover. Best Buy is offering $550 trade in on my Tab S8 so I could basically walk out the door with a new Tab 9 for $298 after tax. Again, I really love my Tab S8 and I just put in an extra $100 when I bought the Book Keyboard Cover. Now I do have bluetooth keyboard and mouse so I'd probably just need a screen protector and case for the S9.

Upgraded from a 2020 s6 lite to the s9 ultra. I've had it for two days and eveything is so much better. I primarily used them for art, clip studio on the s9 feels like a completely different program. I almost have to relearn some things, but I feel like it's been so much better. Didn't hurt that Samsung gave me $500 to trade in the old tablet, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to get the ultra.
I think it's more about the 4GB RAM difference between the 128gb and 256gb versions than the storage. Upgrading from Tab S5e and ultimately I don't do much multitasking on it so I figured the 8GB RAM of the 128gb model is enough for me =) I just hit in the order, hope it's gonna nice ^^
I was looking for iPad mini, but it's so outdated compared to S9, so I went with regular S9, a bit too big for me, but I'm glad that someone put oled screen on smallest version.
As someone who is trapped (but mostly enjoys) the Apple ecosystem, would you recommend the S9+ over the iPad Pro? I'm on an old iPad Pro 10.5 from 2017, but need a bigger screen for aging eyes. iPad Pro 12.9 M2 is WAY overkill for me, and once you add the Pencil the price is crazy. I mostly read, type notes, and cunduct a class with my iPad. (and watch RUclips, of course.) I would only miss iMessage and FindMy. For eveything else I have an iPhone and Macbook. Your thoughts?
If you don't like being trapped and u don't need the raw performance of M1/M2 chips (SD 8 gen 2 is a stellar chip anyways), go for the S9 series, completely worth the money
Definetely the S9+ and bonus it comes with the pen! Note taking is amazomg. If you have other iphone products where you can get your imessage etc. then definetely step out the walled garden and try the S9+ for a new experience!
This apple ecosystem isn't that much better as people make it out to be. Sure, there are more apps that do the same things, but you don't need 100 apps versus 50 apps that do the same thing lol. There are occasional some not offered, but it really depends what you need. So check first what apps you need, then see if android has same or alternative. 9x out of 10, they do have.
Love the enthusiasm. I too have the S9 and it is better than the iPad for the S Pen alone. Hate the Apple Pencil to write with. That being said, Android apps still are terrible. Most of my "apps" are just home screen icons which are browser links because the native apps have serious scaling issues. That being said, I think I am tracked less than if I use the apps anyway, so it isn't a bad tradeoff.
This is the honest truth. I am about to buy a couple for homeschooling. I use the Tab S8 and I'm hoping that they do a trade in deal around Christmas like they did last year where I got my tab S8 for $100 after trading in my S7. Truthfully the s7 was just as good for most people. It's a shame they didn't keep doing software updates on it until it cannot reasonably function with them.
I use my tablet for EVERYTHING. It's just so much more convenient. But I'd recommend just getting the s6 tab. It's cheap as f. Or the s7 plus. Not the newest ones. They aren't worth 2.5x+ the cost increase.
Love the review!! I have a iPad pro and and S7plus tab and I loved it so much that my iPad collects dust. I love the OLED screen but for the topics you touched on for being the best hybrid device and I then today I just got my S9 ultra tab today and I'm so excited to use it !!
I am using the tab S7, I use this most of the time with a monitor. I don't use my MacBook pro whole lot anymore. Only hope the tab s7 have a amoled screen will be perfect.
This Tablet series are the reason that google starts to improve theire appstore and motivate devs to create apps for big size and mark it in the store like apple do with 'apps for ipad' the future is sunny for those android devices
there are a few things about iPad OS that wouldn't allow me to switch... tracking subject while on a video call, seamless workflow from iPad to phone ....start one thing on one and pick up on the other...
nice video bought a S24 ultra considering to buy an s9 now but i have a problem that i've found in this video that there is an annoying white noise in the background maybe from the air conditioner
The company and tech reviewers called these premium product but their cameras are underpowered. They should improve basic features of premium products.
Ok, I finally pulled the trigger. Best Buy sweetened the deal. 12GB of Ram, 256GB of storage, after my S8 trade in, $297, and that includes tax. I couldn't pass it up.
One thing that no body is talking about is Samsung TV Plus, I had samsung mobile device before and it comes with Samsung TV Plus which is great. You get Bloomberg for free. Do you get Samsung TV Plus on tablets?
I use tab s8 plus as mine work device as well study preoaring for pg whatever benchmarks say 8gen 1 is still holy powerfull i will upgrade to tab s10 when it comes after 18 months since it will have 8gen 4 chip inside
Wonderful review! I'm considering getting this for work. I'm in the healthcare field and I want basically a hub for all my client information and organizing as well as clocking in and out for shifts. My question is does the 9+ wifi version, without a data plan, still have gps location on it? I need location in order to clock in and out and I know with the iPads that the wifi only versions don't have gps on them so this is legitimately make or break for me getting one.
Pre ordered S9, but box arrived with S9+. Dealing with @Samsung since has been a NIGHTMARE. They told me to return S9+, then they emailed me saying I should not have done so as it was someone else's order number. I should have only returned something from my order number - said that's all they could do, all fixed, goodbye.... Can not get through to anyone who can help. Ugh.....
Considering buying this because it's currently on offer with the case for only $530. My only ask would be, is the size big enough vs the S9+? I'd mainly use it for light web stuff, Lightroom photo editing and Lumafusion. And I'm not sure if the bigger screen would be more valuable to me there, otherwise I'm all in on the smaller form factor.

Should i buy a Samsung phone or a Samsung tablet (shown in the video), I have an OPPO A94 5G 128GB and it works fine, i also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016 10,1 32 gb and it has some issues, it's outdated (last security update was in first of april 2020), struggling to play games (i play often on my phone but this device can't play almost anything), it's playing youtube fine but i feel like it's getting slower the more youtube updates and it has a storage problem. My phone was bought since 2021 and my tablet was bought since 2018 i think? I use my phone a lot more than my tablet (i use it whenever my phone runs out of battery). My phone is only gonna get security updates now (no more new android or feature updates) but the question is i want to buy a Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra (since it's gonna be released soon) because i want to have a better video recorder and a better camera and the new features but i also want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 since it can become a laptop and i want bigger screen because i'm planning on buying fl studio mobile. This tablet is great! But it can replace laptop ONLY if you use email (lightly) and web browsing. This can't replace a pc by any mean! A pc, wether window or mac, is so intuitive, immediate, full of classic options and features that everybody knows... how can that be replace with lighter apps?! It's impossibile!
But it's a tablet....your limited to apps, id never use this over a conventional computer for workloads, a tablet is lounge wear when your not concentrating a normal pc is everything.

@@shinkimo for you and me (an Android guy) may be it isn't.... But if ppl r using it and sticking to it, may be they're seeing some advantage
I just bought the s nine, and it will be here in october sixth, thanks, frank
That is a very nice device, as one would expect from Samsung. Thanks for the review.
just picked mine up love it way better then my previous apple air
Thanks! I have a gaming PC, a dell laptop I use for accounting, but looking at a tablet for portability and the S9 seems to fit my needs.
Love you Everyday Dad! Just divorced my wife and my farther passed away 😢..... would love to have one of these tablets....
Getting 1 now, thanks!
after watching this I'll get the tab s9 ultra since i love the big screen and the display is awesomeeeee.
This Tablet series are the reason that google starts to improve theire appstore and motivate devs to create apps for big size and mark it in the store like apple do with 'apps for ipad' the future is sunny for those android devices
using a tab s7 and i hope to get the s9 someday.
Hyped enough and waiting for black weeks 😅
lol that HC classic shoutout got my sub
I don't care a bit about the graphics. The keyboard, case, water resist, battery size is what counts for me.
I'm stepping over from iPads. Too expensive for what they offer, but l can't deside between the regular S9 or the FE model.
Just bought mine through your recommendation. Thank you.
there are a few things about iPad OS that wouldn't allow me to switch... tracking subject while on a video call, seamless workflow from iPad to phone ....start one thing on one and pick up on the other...
nice video bought a S24 ultra considering to buy an s9 now but i have a problem that i've found in this video that there is an annoying white noise in the background maybe from the air conditioner
Still keeping with ipods in the tablet game. Did just yesterday get my Fold 5.
Erm Samsung makes the iPad displays, lol.
Hey, Great Review. But just heads up, there seems to some sort of buzzing noise in your audio.
Your audio is killing me
To many things plugged in around each other probably.
One thing that no body is talking about is Samsung TV Plus, I had samsung mobile device before and it comes with Samsung TV Plus which is great. You get Bloomberg for free. Do you get Samsung TV Plus on tablets?
Whats your full size keyboard? A Keychron?
I have tab s9 and s24 plus good combo
I use tab s8 plus as mine work device as well study preoaring for pg whatever benchmarks say 8gen 1 is still holy powerfull i will upgrade to tab s10 when it comes after 18 months since it will have 8gen 4 chip inside
Soon as they drop a Tmobile version ill get 1.
The audio is messed up
i need something like that for my job.
for all the rest ( included turtle wow classic) i go with pc.
Watching from my Tab S9 😊 very very nice tab
I was looking to upgrade my G Tab S6 Lite. Hopefully the G Tab S9FE will be a good upgrade. Any thoughts???
I'm trying to decide between the s9 and the s9+. Use cases are reading PDFs and second monitor.
is something wrong with the audio of the clip?
Currently saving up to jump from my tab s6 lite 2020 model to the s9 middle model thing (I keep forgetting all the names of the models lmao)
As a gamer I definitely noticed the upgrade from my tab s7 plus

So which one should i be planning on buying???
Ordered an s9 ultra to replace an iPad Pro and am now wondering if I should try the s9 as a travel laptop. Used chromebooks are crazy cheap though
Only think I want to know. Is the S8 and S9 S-Pen interchangeable?
I currently have the Tab S8 and mostly use it for work to take notes, im pretty happy with the S8. like I want to get the S9 but there seems like not much diffrence except the water proof?
Got it for $650 in India using student discount and bark offers and it's totally worth it
What, u mean nearly 56k,how bro ?
Please help I am also from India, currently pursuing my btech Engineering.
@savansavan9529 From Samsung Student advantage bro! Though you'll need an institute email ID for that. Also at that time a special 3k discount was going on for pre-orders (That lasted a few hours only). Also I used an HDFC card which gives you 9000 off.
@@savansavan9529 Student advantage gives you 10% additional discount, and normal bank discounts will be available too.
If you knew about the no cost emi hack, then you would get it for 50.5k
@@lakkadbagga what hack? I bought it for 53.7k with no cost EMI on HDFC credit card 🫥
I ipgraded from my Tab S6 Lite. World of difference.
what brand is that usb to hdmi dongle and what game you played on the s9 ...need help haha...and yea i agree... the standard s9 is the best tablet i have ever seen for so long...they nail in every category for price ratio and quality .
Could you review the DELL Vostro 7620 Laptop or any of the latest Vostro please? I will have to go through your past review but I do not think that you have done the Vostro. To me, it seems like a good value compared to the SPX. Great reviews, continue with your great reviews, we value them a lot,
This tablet is great!
But it can replace laptop ONLY if you use email (lightly) and web browsing.
This can't replace a pc by any mean!
A pc, wether window or mac, is so intuitive, immediate, full of classic options and features that everybody knows... how can that be replace with lighter apps?!
It's impossibile!
anyone else hearing poor audio quality from the video? a buzzing sound?
Can someone tell me please if the S9 can be used with an USB C to HDMI adapter to use it for school presentations? Thanks in advance
But it's a tablet....your limited to apps, id never use this over a conventional computer for workloads, a tablet is lounge wear when your not concentrating a normal pc is everything.
Is it normal for this tablet to lose 12 percent battery in 1 hour and 26 minutes? I just wrote and took notes.
So is the upgrade deal ($800 with the 12GB) as good as I could get by waiting for Black Friday?
I still use my Tab S6 everyday, and for work when I travel. It still works perfectly. In this case, would you recommend an upgrade?
If you have a Tab S6 or Tab S5e, I would not recommend upgrade. I bought a galaxy tab s7 but went back to Tab s5e. I would rather buy a refurbished Tab S5e and a good case than these 11 inch Samsung tablets.
@@Micaiah144 Funny you say that cuz I bought a Tab S8+ but found it too big so sold it and went back to my S6. I really like the S6 size, so do wonder if I would be okay with the larger sizes.
@@dustytinThere’s no reason to upgrade if your hardware does what you want to do just fine. I really don’t recommend buying premium Android tablets as their value tank at an alarming rate. Either a budget Android or an Ipad.
If your tab s6 somehow broke, I think you might want to get the ipad pro 2018 11 inch since its only 0.5 more than the tab s6
Great video, but I cringe a little when you say "unless you're a RUclipsr then you don't need a computer" my dude there are SO many people with PC needs besides video editing in both professional and personal categories. Oof.
Is it me or the audio has a buzzing sound?
I havent purchased a tablet since the s3. Safe to say this would be a solid upgrade? Lol
I want it for whats movies on streaming netflix and more.
can you make a video about best screen protector for the tab s9
I’m sure you probably read if not you got some audio issues bud. Nice review otherwise
Knowing that you're so invested in the Apple ecosystem, I'm curious to know if you've tried to pair the magic trackpad to the Galaxy tablet, especially in the Dex mode.
I'm leaning into buying a Galaxy tablet and was looking for a setup with a Logitech keyboard and was looking for a trackpad(I prefer that instead of a mouse).
If you've not tried the trackpad with the s9 tablet, let me know if that's an option.
Should I upgrade from S8. I just pay 200 extra. I heard people get better deal
