- It’s Pikmin 4 eve! A decade of waiting finally comes to a close tonight. However, despite being overwhelmingly hyped for the game, there are a few worries I’d like to get off my chest before picking it up tomorrow.

For me the resetting of the timeline is my biggest worry. It's not a deal breaker, but like why would they do that. I'm emotionally attached to Olimar because I experienced his story first hand, so if they change his story retroactively it'll be a little strange. But we'll have to see how it all plays out. I haven't even played the demo so I am super excited to finally get my hands on it tomorrow! Feels unreal to be so close to the release of a new Pikmin, and it'll probably be another 10 years before Pikmin 5 so we all have to enjoy this hype right now
for real bruh what’s the point of even calling it pikmin 4 if it doesn’t even continue the story
I literally skipped one cause the time stressed me out as a kid on my local card store that had the game available and 2 was my first into the series. I hope nothing bad happens to the story too much

I don’t think the next Pikmin game is coming out in a decade. With the success of Pikmin 4, Pikmin 5 should come out much earlier.

My only fear is the modernization of Pikmin. So many games has suffered due to trying to be "modern" and "mainstream". And Pikmin 4 seems to be yet another game that's gonna be sacrificing a lot to be "modern" and appeal to a broader audience.
Yeah there were a few design decisions I wasn’t crazy about and just shrugged every time I saw a change just appeal to the mainstream gamers but over all I think the soul of what makes Pikmin is still here. It’s been fun so far and I can’t really complain too much I’m just happy to see this game after 10 years
The fact it's literally out tomorrow is mind boggling. Like thank god i get paid tomorrow but haven't played 3 and its too late to buy binge the series now lmao I do hope 2 isnt a dream and the dog isnt op.

I'm kind of worried the game will be too easy. But hey, Pikmin is Pikmin at the end of the day, and I'll absolutely play the crap out of it tomorrow
Tbf pikmin has always been kinda easy
I'm worrying that the main characters, for Pikmin 3 (Alph, Brittany, and Charlie aka) would not referenced because Pikmin is my fav in the series

For this being a retcon or not, I am in the camp that this is a new planet, Olimar did not expect to find pikmin here so when he saw a creature that very much looked like a pikmin but he did not consider them being that exactly at first is why he says he is calling them pikmin.
From what seen in the demo they did not confirm what planet this is really and all the “people” are coming from old and new named planets too (dog as well comes from a new one) so this is likely a continuation still.
The IDs of the Pikmin-ified castaways list the planet name as PNF-404, which is what the characters in Pikmin 3 named the planet.

I have rather many worries. So Pikmins gameplay always had depth and I don't think that this is going to change. However it also was quite minimal. We now have the Main Map Adventure, Dungeons, the vs mode thing and night missions. Thats like a lot. That could be rather overwhelming and annoying. Also you can now upgrade your dog and I don't know if this is going to be fun. And only being able to have 3 Pikmin species on the map at the same time could also be very annoying. We'll see though.
And I won't buy it yet because I want to play 2 before 4.
I disliked pikmin 3 and loved 2 so I hope its more like 2 than 3.

In a way it kind of is, it's got the difficulty of 3, and the caves of 2.
