@waltingram4198 Much appreciated - thank you! 🙏🏻
Yellow- Chief inspector; Red- Inspector; White/ Sargent; Blue- regular officer. (I think😊!)
Stay safe out there today. Trust your instincts. 🤔
Thank you for this video, made me very teary though, TA (is that how it’s spelt?) looks exactly like my boy Midnight I lost in a freak accident last October. Same size, build, face, even down to the indents on the neck, some call a “profits thumb” but midnights were scars from the “black Saturday fires here in Australia in 2009. 😞 Even his personality, very curious & mischievous. But once you started stroking his velvet nose he would stand forever with his head in your lap. I have some beautiful photos of him & I like that having his cuddle time!!
So thank you 🙏🥰 🥲 Maybe Midnight was a guard for the late queen in a “previous life” he certainly was stunning enough & had the right personality to be one🥰
I’m glad the shouting at naughty tourists is back.

Just realised I have seen this one ❤
I agree people especially tourists can be stupid.

What else should they have done ?

Also, the wearing of hoodies and masks should not be permitted in that area. Certainly not around the guards and the horses.
Good point!

Have to put up with it. The Security of Our Military Personnel should be Paramount. Especially with the Security Threats around the world.
@@lanasimpson499 Frostbite? Lol it’s has to be at least -15°F (and frostbite can happen within 30min) it’s definitely not in the negatives or nowhere near the negatives in this video 😂😂 That was so funny lol
Sehr guter Vorschlag.
Here in America at the Tomb of the unknown Soldier in Washington D.C. IF you get to close the Guards will yell at you.
Big thanks just love whatching you're video 😅 I'm 84 years old very proud Yorkshire lass my late husband George used to love watching this when we came to London brings back memories ❤ 😀 ❤

Admire your exceedingly polite language describing todays clown! The great thing is, it illustrates the professional policing of a grade 1 clown!
AT 1:06 we were allowed to lock people up in secure units years ago for public protection, then Mrs T decided to let them all out to live amongst us. Look at the state of the World now.
Apparently we all have to accept the risk people with certain illnesses pose to us all because HNS refuses to and police are not paid to do the job of the NHS.
Tourists don't take a Nippy horse seriously. They could easily get bitten, yet they laugh. It might seem funny, but it should not be encouraged by laughing about nearly getting bitten. 🇬🇧
I don't find it a bit funny I think they're stupid for laughing!
Sadly These Morons NEVER Learn.
Tourists seem to think the British police are fools !
Maybe if they were a bit more assertive they could get the results they want. Other countries' police forces would not take insolence.
@@veronicacrabtreehill6608the armed Police at Horseguards are not the Metropolitan Police you see in London. They are Ministry of Defence anti-terrorist Police that will find at all military site in Britain.
They think the guard and horse are their amusement items, no respect, act stupid and they deserve it if Nippy nips them he is probably tired of them too

01:06:00 Man ejected from Horse Guards by Ministry of Defence Police. 🤦🏻♀️
Appreciate that you put in the "time stamps."
The guy ejected by MOD police nicked a bottle of orange juice from the gate just as he went in. Somebody’s going to be thirsty later on. "Thinks"……… perhaps it wasn’t juice….he’ll find out🤮 lol.

Hi John,
Thanks for your excellent coverage through all of your videos.
Having served 35 years myself. It was a great privilege watching my former colleagues in the MOD Police carryout their duties on this and every other occasion to the normal excellent standard.
35 years! You must have some amazing tales to tell of what happened over the years!
Most of which I wouldn't be allowed to repeat. 😎@@LondonCityWalks
Yes we'll done
The horse Pretoria is just huuuge!. What a glorious animal. I love it when you tell us names. 😊 T-A is very curious about everything and everyone. He sniffles to see what in the pockets.
He makes me very teary as he looks exactly like my boy Midnight that I lost last October in a tragic accident. Even the same personality it’s like looking at his clone!! He was always nuzzling for treats & knew I often hid a couple in my bra to hide them lol! There was NO hiding anything on your person with him lol 😂
Glad the vocal commands have been reinstated.
I felt scared when I saw this chap walking in. The erratic behaviour has to be taken seriously due to previous incidents 😢
Respect by police moving out of guards way .
The beautiful black and white police horse is a piebald and if the horse was brown and white they are skewbald. All the Met horses are stunning as are all the Cav Blacks.
American here. That's why, sadly, I'm probably going to have to postpone my visit to London for early December. No sense coming only to find things shut down, or they're shut down in the midst of the trip.
Good on the cops at the end. They handled that cretan male perfectly 🇺🇲🇬🇧.
Great description,
Definitely check before hand for any planned closures. Some things you can't plan for, but you should be able to find a time when most things are open. You were there at a good time, it showed things happening which the media never bother with. Thank you.
I don’t follow the media, have stopped since the Palestine marches began, this is my go to channel for coverage of the marches as John tells it how it is. No sensationalism headlines to install fear and no lies. He tries to get the best view for his subscribers, while secondly thinking of his own safety. Even interacting with others to find out the information he needs to do what he intends and nothing else. There would have been a time I would have wished he could get a job with a popular news media outlet but not anymore, o don’t think he would like or agree with most things he would report on, as it would be twisted and turned into a completely different piece of information than John had originally taken onto the office. Now I wish him well with this channel and his other channels and hope he can make a decent living from them. Thank you John, never stop being you.
@@MaliaP702
I agree with you. He gives an unbiased view of events. I am curious why there have to be marches anyway
Problems in other countries cannot be solved by marches in different countries.
@@MaliaP702 Oh, how I agree with you! I am house bound but know I can rely on John to give a true and accurate observation as to what is going on, if he is not sure he will say.
@@veronicacrabtreehill6608 if you don’t mind I’d like to explain why some marches take place over here and in other countries across Europe, not in the Middle East. So for instance if a woman is caught protesting in some countries and has a strand of hair showing or a bit of ankle then she will most probably be executed in the middle of a town for all to see, men too if found to be against the government and a lot of countries give very harsh prison sentences, the time they do is hard labour in horrific conditions and they never know when they are getting out, some die inside from being continually raped and tortured. Have you seen the film American Express I think it’s called, well some of it was based on lies, he never killed anyone to make his escape, the point I’m trying to put across here is, in the film you will notice there are 3 or 4 judges, this is like our crown court, you will also notice there is no jury and that is true. The Turkish police and court system is totally corrupt and top people can be bought for the right price. Get a defence lawer over there to fight your case and you will find it to expensive if you live there so you have to have a state defence which will only do the minimum and be scared to go against anything the government says, I know what he did was wrong and he deserved time but the cruel way and conditions were horrific. So imagine trying to protest on your home turf, many have and many have died, no such thing as freedom of speech. With regards to the Palestine protests, it would be impossible to protest there at the moment as there is a war going on, but protests have been going on for years over there, I’m not siding with any during this comment but I think Hamas did wrong by firing like they did and Israel have not done as promised and when they’ve said they would allow a safe passage for people to flee they went against it a few hours later as people were on the move and bombed the areas anyway, both sides have done awful things and only the innocent suffer. So people protest here and other countries where they feel safe to do so. Don’t forget we have our own protestors, going down past the king guards who don’t want the law changed on the dogs, we have stop oil protests all over the UK causing so much more of a nuisance than any other protest. But they can because we have laws that if they are sent to prison they will be treated in a sort of humane way, our prisons maybe thought of as hotels better than the Hilton but a Cat A prisoner can suffer for years in a cramped cell with slop buckets for toilets, yes cells like that do still exist. But it’s better than being strung up or chopped in from of everyone. Russia for example will always have an excuse as to why a prisoner can never be found or a protester who is taken by police may never be found. In north Cyprus which is supposed to be heaven on earth there have been protests against the government and reporters have been arrested for writing something against the government, because it is against the law. They also adopt the non jury rule in court and it can be 1 judge who decides a persons fate. So corrupt.
You get a different perspective seeing the changing of the guards while watching from the outside. Awesome video John. Good job 💜
Thank you Frosty! 👍🏻👍🏻
I absolutely love your comments and I agree with you on all of them!😂
7:57 Military discipline at its best. Well done.

Think it's nice they protect the horses eyes
Even when they are angry, Brits are the most polite people! I dunno how they do it, but they somehow are able to manage their anger and are polite upon confrontation!
What a vile man towards the end 😱
I agree
A horse’s lips are very sensitive and are equipped with many tactile hairs which they use to “explore.” It’s sometimes a bit unfortunate that those very large teeth aren’t far behind but then there are those who prefer to go straight to using the teeth rather than just a curious feel around.
But then there are also plenty of tourists who deserve to experience the teeth rather than just the curious lips.
I think I caught police caps :
Yellow - Chief Inspector
Red. - Inspector
White. - Sergeant &
Blue. - Constable.
You learn something new every day!
have these people never seen a horse before.. unbelievable....
Maybe they appreciate their beauty. Why do you watch the video of the horses and the tourists. Have you never seen either.

Well I have been involved with horses for many years. We just love to watch the guards with their horses. I live in Spain now and could never, because of ill- health go to London any more.
Why do you watch ?

He has been watching too many American Cop Television Series.

This was fun! As for the "zombies" well, we have them too. We can thank stupid people who have no idea what life is like for them outside of a cloistered existence. I have never understood why we cannot keep them in a facility with proper staff, sigh... I'm old and have had relatives who needed that type of life just to live. It is amazing how tourists seem to lose their sense of sense; I was a tourist for many years, but I have always known where I was and what was going on around me. I will never get to visit London now, too old and ill, so your videos really fulfill a desire for me. Thanks!
I agree with with you. Old and decrepit but old enough thankfully to remember days when there was no nonsense like there is now.

NOTHING should be allowed to be erected in Whitehall, especially near Horse Guards or the Cenotaph. As in, in never.
I dont Agee with it either!!
that last geezer was just part of the riches that diversity has given us ....
It's pretty sad when people can not follow simple hand signals. What I will never understand is why people have such a need to rush the horses and guards. All the horses are extremely handsome. Are horse guards assigned a horse that they regularly ride? As much as I would love to see the guards and their horses I know the large crowds would turn me away. And I would probably wind up saying something to the idiot tourists. lol. I enjoyed your commentary. It's great that you know all the horses' names.
I know they always used to be assigned a horse from training onwards but dont know if they still do. I would think so as a lot of horses tend to bond to their owner/handler and are a lot happier when they have their “human” my boy who looked exactly like TA would not let anyone but me ride him. He threw my daughter off every time she rode him but would happily plod behind me whilst my grandson had a “pony ride” on him. He was very calm and protective of me & never put a foot Wrong but with everyone else was a bit of a bugger!! 😁
Someone else has asked that same question, if Guards are always assigned same horse. Answer is, no.
My guess is, so newer recruits get used to different temperments, shift rotations etc.
Many times standing on a Remembrance Sunday morning, such a moving experience. While we all paid our respects to our glorious dead, who will be forever remembered. Proud of our men and women of our country. We laugh, we cry, we remember with what’s left of the lads and ladies who served with honour. They are also cheeky when they pass the hip flasks around with a super shot of brandy 😊😂😊. Got to love them x
It is sad their sacrifice was for nothing and British police now run around randomly handcuffing people they take a dislike to.

I 100% agree with you that lady it was unfortunate because she seemed like extremely nice when and yes very beautiful smile. I just wish that the guards would Shout at the people grabbing for the reins especially not once not twice three times or more it's absolutely ridiculous and then to top off the frustration of a lot of viewers, they laugh about it and I'm sorry I think they know exactly what they're doing and I find a lot of Asian people do that, from East India from China from wherever they all seem to want to do that. These are military men and women and Military horses they may get a lot of tourists out there but they are not there for the tourists. Glad you put a long one on here because I love when you talk to us, thank you much love and respect from Canada❤❤
I agree alot of them know what they are doing they do just to get a reaction from the guards
Totally agree with everything you said. Yes, it seems Asian people seem to push it quite often
...and so it continues, someone encourages child to put her hand to horses mouth, just as he is in a Nippy mood. 🇬🇧🤨✋️🐎
Why can't people just behave and not cause trouble some of their own behaviour is awful. When you've been clearly told to get lost you do it no one messing around and its NOT a plauground either.
I often see that it winds up being non-English speaking people that don't follow the warnings. Have they ever considered using a scan code or something to communicate the warning or rules in other languages? I think we'd see more understanding and respect if that was an option.
Yes it’s SO easy to have a translation app on your phone. My daughter is going to be doing a Europe tour & she has got the translation app on her phone.
The cow horse as you called it I had to laugh . In USA it is called a paint horse . Very pretty ,but then all of the horses are . I've never been to London and just want to say thank you for posting your video's .

Hope we get to see you come & say hi to John & the rest of us whilst you visit!!
😂Great commentary as always. In particular you spoke for many of us concerning the clown!
The 'corse' is a paint horse, not a breed but a colour. A black and white paint is called a piebald, a brown and white paint is a skewbald. Occassionally you will see a triclour which is black, brown and white. He looks a rather cobby/draft sort. Lovely beast.
Yes just spoke on another comment about this! It’s nice to hear someone else know their true name & not the “paint” they are all lazily called here now in Australia. I prefer the names I grew up with in the UK but get funny looks from my fellow horse owners here. 😆
Definitely looks very cob or draft, magnificent tail! My boy who looked like exactly like T-A was Percheron x QH but still not as stocky as that beautiful skewbald. I wondered to if it had a bit of “shire” in it, certainly had the right shaped head.
Thanks for the explanation about piebald and skewbald, @joannewoodward3480

Have you tried zooming in on the horse's hooves to try to get the number engraved there? Each horse has a number and if you could get that as well as the name it might be easier to keep the horses straight.

Have you ever had a opportunity to talk to any of the Commanders that come inspect Guards/Horses? You could mention a red line boundary, let the Commander take up the idea to his higher ups. If the Commander likes the idea, please take the credit for the idea. Plus it would sound better coming from a British citizen, than a American yank/citizen. Two heads are better in solving things.
I have, but those kind of decisions are taken at a far higher level, at London District. Being not a military man, I don't feel qualified to stick my oar in, so to speak.

I am completely hooked on your videos.....I'm hardly sleeping playing catch up.
In my daft little head I'm thinking after work and back in the stables those horses tally up the days events. Something like this......
Horse in first stable leans over the door "So how was your day? Anything for the score sheet?? Nips, bites, kicks?" Horse in second stable grins and says "I nearly got a scarf", another in stable three says "That's nothing, I toppled a Japanese tourist!". Horse in stable four shouts "I got spooked by an empty crisp packet....scared the crowd". Other horses shout "RESULT". First horse says "before we settle down did anyone get any food? Apple? Carrot? Sugar lump? Polo mint? All in unison.....neigh! Night night. 😆🐴💖

I watch your videos regularly. I really love them and learn so much from your commentary. Thank you so much! 😄
My uncle work in the stable for The famous MAN OF WAR when he was a teen. The horse bite him on the upper arm and he ended up with a small spider cancer that had to be treated when he got older.
The guy at the end causing trouble should have been arrested for disrespecting the guards. How dare he actually like he's privileged. I also noticed him go through the gates just before his " tantrum" and take an orange bottle from the nook by the gatesman. He still had it in his hand when he was escorted out. Why he took it and what was in it is what I'm curious about. Ty for all you do. Love to you from Norwood N.Y. USA.

@@carolzippel5021yes would not like to see one spook & go through one. My friends horse just de-gloved his leg on a wire fence & was very close to being put to sleep. Luckily he has healed beautifully but was touch & go.
Spooked Horses & fences do not go well together ☹️ my boy had some nasty scars from fences. He was in the “black Saturday” fires here in australia in 2009 he went through a fence to get away from the fires & had huge scars on his neck & back legs!
My ex husband is a volunteer firefighter & went to the fires & they open all field gates so animals can run from the fires. Most residents in a fire will write their phone number on their horses neck or hooves so when they are found they can trace the owners. We microchipped our horses for that reason, never know here when fires are going to go through your area here. We also leave headcollars & leads on the gate so they can be put on the horse in an emergence to lead them out as my husband had said he had nothing to put on horses to lead them to safety.

John, the black and white police horse you commented on I believe in the UK, you call a horse with flashy white markings “piebald”, “skewbald”, or simply “coloured” - while in America it is a specific breed called “American Paint Horse” which is governed by the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) - In order to qualify for the APHA, a horse must meet both bloodline and pattern requirements
On the other hand, a “pinto” is any horse with loud white markings. It is a purely descriptive term and refers to a coat pattern phenotype; not genetics. There is a prominent Pinto Horse Association of America (PtHA), which acts as a registry and organizes competitive events to showcase horses with this type of coat pattern. 😉
Piebald is black and white and skewbald is brown and white.
@@angelawilkins2888 the UK may define the coloring differently than the Horse Associations in the U.S. - I believe each has a website for additional information - although I agree that the 'common' definition is Piebald: Any pinto pattern on a black base coat, thus a black-and-white spotted horse. The term comes from "magpie". Skewbald: Any pinto pattern on any base coat other than black; as chestnut and bay are the most common base coat colors -
I was only commenting on the common UK descriptive terms as these are in England.
These videos are amazing ! I could never be in such a crowd..I would pass out. So these are lovely to sit & watch. The patience of the guards astounds me ! ...and your comments John are hilarious at times !
Thankyou.
