I have two dual sense controllers and both of them have some sort of stick drift or one of the triggers activates on its own. I never once had either of these issues with the ps4 controllers after using them for years, aside from the charging port those were consistently bad. Whereas both the dual sense have issues after a year or so. And here they are chugging along making new controllers without fixing the ones still being sold
Spot on. Dual sense starts stick drifting exactly after one year, I replaces three so far, each almost after a year which is crazy. And 200 usd for a controller is crazy.
The edge can replace joystick modules and the reason why the standard sense controller sucks is because not enough people are buying ps5s. The joysticks got better as people started buying more ps4s tbh.
Plug it in and turn off the blue tooth option .. After last ps5 update mine had (lag) and stick drift issues, so I turned bluetooth off and leave it plugged in and it fixed all my issues.
Same issue with Xbox controllers, about a year, and they get horrible stick drift, even the Elite 2.0 controller, which for the price is unacceptable. I swear my old Xbox, and Playstations never had this issue unless you abused the controllers.
He bound the shoot button to back as well which I found really odd. Maybe he was just demoing it but back buttons for me are always Jump or interact or dodge.
I love the old ps1/2/3 thumbsticks and hate the fact that we got new ones with the ps4+. Good to know that you can swap it back to the original design! 🔥
I would argue it’s great for offline gamer too. I’ve used it in both scenarios and being able to map a frequently used face button to a back paddle truly makes a game experience more enjoyable no matter what game it is. Not to mention the ability to remap buttons to other places like the triggers!
I work at a pawn shop and i see tons of these broken in some odd way like everyday. The materials and construction of things these days is shoddy at best

Ngl the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is better because of the back buttons being more customizable, rubber grips, and the trigger click distance is customizable so it stops when it hits a certain point. Also, you can map ANY button on the controller to ANYTHING
ZERO HAPTICS FEEDBACK on your Elites, is last gen tech. Keep telling yourself battery matters boys.....just Plug & Play. Also mapping buttons that arent needing mapping as theyre already mapped good enough, is a worthless option.

Missing inputs on buttons, L2/R2 working less efficient and so on. I don't see a reason for it being that high in price or buying one. These products are not made to hold for a long time if used regulary and i don't see this controller changing that fact. The L2/R2 trigger response is also BS imo. Its like pay to win cause they made a feature with L2/R2 being badly designed over 3 console cycles now. And now have a controller that fixes that issue and make it feel like a button again... The thing is that the average dual sense from what I've gathered lasts 8-12 months so you buy '3' normal ones by buying an edge roughly so if the edge gets drift more than like once per year you are wasting extra. Had the old stick drift and one can only take your character darting left so much so across the room it went. The amount of money these systems cost when new there is no excuse for the controllers to last 2 years. I got mine on launch, it's definitely worth it, may not have the best battery nor every single bell and whistle, but it's got most I need and care about.
Apart from the price, the only other complaint I have with this controller is the battery life. Its atrocious! My old Elite Series 2 still gives me well above 35 hours of play time, while the Edge only gives me around five or six. What the hell, Sony? when I do use it, I just leave it plugged in. Could have just made it a wired controller and lowered the price by $20.

In the near three years I've had the Elite S2, I've had the "pleasure" of having to replace the right bumper microswitch, and the back casing because it started to stretch at the seams on the grips (they said this wouldn't happen like it did with the first Elite, but here I am...) So far, no QC issues with the Edge, but I haven't had it for long, so only time will tell. I still mostly use my Elite, though.
Bro you just compared a redesigned controller to Sonys very first pro controller. Xbox redesigned that controller you should be comparing it to the very first Xbox elite controller. Not the part 2 that got overhauled and fixed all the problems the first one had that’s the correct comparison. Because if I remember the first elite controller was good but the battery life was bad. When Sony comes out with the DualSense Edge 2 controller it’s going to be even better than this controller and improve upon the design of this controller.

Only when games force me to us R2 and L2 do I ever use those as my aim and shoot buttons. I’ve always swap them use R1 and L1 because they take less time to shoot cause the buttons react faster when you press em.
its pretty cool because these controllers allow you to swap the r2, l2 buttons for the r1 and l1 buttons so you can always have that setting on every game no matter what

I’ve had the controller since release. It’s really nice and the paddles are great. Battery could be better but the controller feels ten times better than the base ones.
My left paddle broke. It still works but it isn’t springy anymore like the right one that still works properly and it sits lower. And I think Sony also is banning companies from manufacturing and selling replacement modules for the back buttons because there are videos on replacing them but the links for the parts don’t show up and nothing shows up on Google. I’m hoping I just haven’t looked hard enough yet cuz replacing something that breaks after moderate use that costs $200 is bad. I’d rather just go the strike pack and trigger stop route

@@Cinematograper my comment was honest too as that’s really how I feel and I couldn’t imagine using PlayStation 5 without the Dualsense which is especially good for so many games like the souls games where I map the extra back paddles to L1 & R1 for block and quick attack or cast and then Fortnite I map the left paddle for L3 to run so no need to click the thumb stick and it’s not only about the extra paddles cause many controllers have that these days but also the software, and features, and build quality etc is all really good and the replaceable thumb stick modules are nice to have all the same as Sony did a fantastic job

Opted for the Victrix BFG myself, love it. Feels better in hand than the Edge. It doesn't have haptic feedback or vibration and I actuallly am starting to like my hands not shaking while gaming.

Epindon has released PCB module replacements that have Hall effect sensors as well, though I have not gotten them yet, cause Victrix had at one point said they were releasing Hall effect sensors for this controller at some point this year.
Wouldn’t suggest if you have both PlayStation and Xbox consoles, but rather get the Xbox elite series 2 for 20$ less pricing and quality with quantity.
I hope Astro makes a ps5 controller. The C40 before was incredible and i still use it on PC. Too bad sony is greedy and disabled all last gen controllers for ps5 games despite there being no difference at all. Haptic triggers, more detailed vibrations, and a mic are not a necessary thing. You can buy custom ps5 controllors that work fine without any of those things inside.

@@OVOJermeystick drift is an issue with the joystick module and not the shell you play with. There's a stick that goes up and connects to the shell and the joystick module. The module gets fucked up, mistranlates movements, and creates stick drift.
X box did it better wayyy before. I still have the edge as I play in FGC tournaments that are mainly PS5, but other than that I'm on the XSX or PC with the Elite Series 2 controller for 4 reasons 1. 4 paddles. 2. Wayyy better D Pad for precision inputs. 3. Ungodly longer battery life. 4. Last but not least you can adjust the tension on the 2 analogs with 3 stiffness settings. The Edge is definitely wayyy better than the original PS5 controller but the Elite S2 is better.
Xbox Elite Controller has magnetic sticks with adaptable stick resistance, 4 pedals at the bottom, a much longer battery life, 3 trigger stops settings and all buttons are remappable. Oh I forgot you can charger the controller while it's in its case
Actually the controller is worth it in general because it still has the main haptics and adaptive triggers a normal ps5 controller has and more also you can swap out the analogs for new ones when you get stuck drift make sure you take off your stick caps tho and put the original ones on cuz they don’t sell the replacement stick modules with different thumbstick caps
I got mine over a year ago and there’s a flaw in the back button LB. It will die on you and there’s no other parts to buy it from to replace it. Unless it breaks on you before the 1 year warranty coverage.

If you're a pro you should be using the bumpers as triggers. It's changeable in most cods. Lightning fast compared to the actual triggers with actual evidence if you care to look it up.
You can be a offline player too because my 10 year old cousin accidentally knocked my regular Dualsense to the floor from my bookcase and now my right thumb stick have serious stick drift. When playing a game the screen spins around constantly. So I might get this controller just for situations like this and I am so glad I had the original controller that came with the PS5.
I bought a ps5 for a friend from another guy and I bought the one he had for $50 with the carry case accessories and it’s been working great. I don’t or haven’t used it to its full potential but out of 5 controllers 2 of them don’t have stick drift. It’s been a good $350 dollars for two controllers and ps5 disc version
Offline can get real very fast, especially if you have a big family with gamers; family gatherings turn into competitive showdowns. But we do have fun, at the same time you'll get that work respectfully
Attention! Do NOT buy because the duelsense edge module sticks are very hard to come by. They are always sold out and Amazon + PlayStation website are sold out for awhile and including stores in my area. I’ve had my controller for about 6 months now. Buyer beware. Hope this helps because if I knew how hard it was to get replacement sticks I wouldn’t have purchased the duelsense edge controller.
Even if you did it’s so easy to learn how to open them up and clean them if you have the right equipment which I got for only 10 dollars (a ps5 cleaning kit)

It is definitely not worth $200 but it is the nicest PlayStation five controller they’ve made I love the full grip and I definitely would recommend this controller just not for $200 also, the battery life is trash, but to be real I don’t know who’s gaming for more than six hours at a time and the extension cable is very very long that you can be comfortable gaming
Get some controller grips, because the grips on the bottom of the controller tend to peel off if your hands get sweaty at times, after getting a new controller and then getting some grips my controller has held up very well

I have 2 joy cons, and a pro controller with to my switch 2 Xbox one controllers and an elite series 2 (used on pc because you can play almost any Xbox exclusive on pc) 2 ps5 regular controllers. All I need to complete the set dualsense edge Note I’m a pc dude who only has consoles to play the exclusives I can’t legally run on pc yet, yet I still have full controller sets

Yes I would need that for online multiplayer because Everytime I play Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends my R2 Trigger will slow start to loosen up or break the springs in it. And I'm not even that good at Apex but if it's Titanfall 2 I'm slightly better.

I have had o e for a while. If you don’t mind the price tag they are great. If you play competitive games or variety of different games. Being able to reconfigure the buttons and switch the triggers is great. The case is nice and durable, and it comes with different options for the back button paddles The one area where I’d say it’s lacking is the thumb stick . I left the defaults on mine and put on control freaks. Having customized and saved profiles for different games or even different weapon loadouts or different characters in a fighting game is awesome and you can switch between them with the press of a button without going through extra menus. And having customized stick input makes it a lot easier to go from one first person shooter to the other without the game feeling totally different All that said, if you have to choose between buying this controller and Paying bills don’t bother. But if you don’t mind burning $200 for one of those fun things that you don’t need, it’s worth it
I'm not a competitive gamer but I do prefer my edge because I like adjusting my controller buttons and saving different modes to I sed based on games I play

A thousand times better than a scuff. No quibble return and after the warranty expired the sticks are £20 to replace. Well worth the money.

Only when games force me to us R2 and L2 do I ever use those as my aim and shoot buttons. I’ve always swap them use R1 and L1 because they take less time to shoot cause the buttons react faster when you press em.

I would recommend backpaddles for every type of gamer, I always move L3 & R3 to backpaddles cause those buttons wear out quickly with any use.

I’ve had the controller since release. It’s really nice and the paddles are great. Battery could be better but the controller feels ten times better than the base ones.

My left paddle broke. It still works but it isn’t springy anymore like the right one that still works properly and it sits lower. And I think Sony also is banning companies from manufacturing and selling replacement modules for the back buttons because there are videos on replacing them but the links for the parts don’t show up and nothing shows up on Google. I’m hoping I just haven’t looked hard enough yet cuz replacing something that breaks after moderate use that costs $200 is bad. I’d rather just go the strike pack and trigger stop route

@@Cinematograper my comment was honest too as that’s really how I feel and I couldn’t imagine using PlayStation 5 without the Dualsense which is especially good for so many games like the souls games where I map the extra back paddles to L1 & R1 for block and quick attack or cast and then Fortnite I map the left paddle for L3 to run so no need to click the thumb stick and it’s not only about the extra paddles cause many controllers have that these days but also the software, and features, and build quality etc is all really good and the replaceable thumb stick modules are nice to have all the same as Sony did a fantastic job

Opted for the Victrix BFG myself, love it. Feels better in hand than the Edge. It doesn't have haptic feedback or vibration and I actuallly am starting to like my hands not shaking while gaming.

Epindon has released PCB module replacements that have Hall effect sensors as well, though I have not gotten them yet, cause Victrix had at one point said they were releasing Hall effect sensors for this controller at some point this year.

I hope Astro makes a ps5 controller. The C40 before was incredible and i still use it on PC. Too bad sony is greedy and disabled all last gen controllers for ps5 games despite there being no difference at all. Haptic triggers, more detailed vibrations, and a mic are not a necessary thing. You can buy custom ps5 controllors that work fine without any of those things inside.

@@OVOJermeystick drift is an issue with the joystick module and not the shell you play with. There's a stick that goes up and connects to the shell and the joystick module. The module gets fucked up, mistranlates movements, and creates stick drift.

I still have the edge as I play in FGC tournaments that are mainly PS5, but other than that I'm on the XSX or PC with the Elite Series 2 controller for 4 reasons 1. 4 paddles. 2. Wayyy better D Pad for precision inputs. 3. Ungodly longer battery life. 4. Last but not least you can adjust the tension on the 2 analogs with 3 stiffness settings. The Edge is definitely wayyy better than the original PS5 controller but the Elite S2 is better.

Actually the controller is worth it in general because it still has the main haptics and adaptive triggers a normal ps5 controller has and more also you can swap out the analogs for new ones when you get stuck drift make sure you take off your stick caps tho and put the original ones on cuz they don’t sell the replacement stick modules with different thumbstick caps

If you're a pro you should be using the bumpers as triggers. It's changeable in most cods. Lightning fast compared to the actual triggers with actual evidence if you care to look it up.
You can be a offline player too because my 10 year old cousin accidentally knocked my regular Dualsense to the floor from my bookcase and now my right thumb stick have serious stick drift. When playing a game the screen spins around constantly. So I might get this controller just for situations like this and I am so glad I had the original controller that came with the PS5.
I bought a ps5 for a friend from another guy and I bought the one he had for $50 with the carry case accessories and it’s been working great. I don’t or haven’t used it to its full potential but out of 5 controllers 2 of them don’t have stick drift. It’s been a good $350 dollars for two controllers and ps5 disc version

Do NOT buy because the duelsense edge module sticks are very hard to come by. They are always sold out and Amazon + PlayStation website are sold out for awhile and including stores in my area. I’ve had my controller for about 6 months now.
Buyer beware. Hope this helps because if I knew how hard it was to get replacement sticks I wouldn’t have purchased the duelsense edge controller.

Even if you did it’s so easy to learn how to open them up and clean them if you have the right equipment which I got for only 10 dollars (a ps5 cleaning kit)

It is definitely not worth $200 but it is the nicest PlayStation five controller they’ve made I love the full grip and I definitely would recommend this controller just not for $200 also, the battery life is trash, but to be real I don’t know who’s gaming for more than six hours at a time and the extension cable is very very long that you can be comfortable gaming
Get some controller grips, because the grips on the bottom of the controller tend to peel off if your hands get sweaty at times, after getting a new controller and then getting some grips my controller has held up very well

Yes I would need that for online multiplayer because Everytime I play Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends my R2 Trigger will slow start to loosen up or break the springs in it. And I'm not even that good at Apex but if it's Titanfall 2 I'm slightly better.

I have had o e for a while. If you don’t mind the price tag they are great. If you play competitive games or variety of different games. Being able to reconfigure the buttons and switch the triggers is great.
The case is nice and durable, and it comes with different options for the back button paddles
The one area where I’d say it’s lacking is the thumb stick . I left the defaults on mine and put on control freaks.
Having customized and saved profiles for different games or even different weapon loadouts or different characters in a fighting game is awesome and you can switch between them with the press of a button without going through extra menus. And having customized stick input makes it a lot easier to go from one first person shooter to the other without the game feeling totally different
All that said, if you have to choose between buying this controller and Paying bills don’t bother. But if you don’t mind burning $200 for one of those fun things that you don’t need, it’s worth it
