Also the author does not consider the next story he writes to be a sequel to mushoku tensei. Elinalise had experience consoling adventurers before by bedding them, and it worked. She refuses to do it for Rudy since she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she NTR'ed both Cliff and Sylphy. 5. The brothel wouldn't work since Rudy refuses to come out - and he wouldn't even look at the prostitutes if they rolled up with one. 6. Now, this is important: ROXY TRIED OTHER METHODS FIRST before resorting to sex. 7. The group had no choice in the matter - if Roxy didn't step up, Rudy is just a dead man. I am not excusing their behavior - it is still cheating. But if you ask me if I were to choose between having a cheating incident that saved a life or just letting that life go, I would 100 times over pick letting a cheating incident happen. The sex wasn't done out of malice. Rudy and Roxy didn't want to maliciously cheat on Sylphy - it was just the last resort and it was to save a life. Sylphy understood that. She understood what it meant when she married Rudy. She understood what it meant when Roxy stayed behind the house. Finally, she wasn't a follower/believer of Millis. Heck, she more or less grew up in Paul's home where Paul was involved in a polamorous relationship. She KNEW what she was getting into by marrying Rudy - she even straight up told him to go find a mistress after their marriage. Finally, she understood that given the choice between her husband coming back in a body bag or him coming back with a +1 to his body count and a +1 to his harem, she'd choose the latter rather than the former.

Sylphie growing up knowing paul did always expect rudeus to want more wives, in the Light Novel she even talks about deciding to be a mediator for who ever brings rudeus brings in and make sure the conflict doesn't get too bad. So my problem was never the pologamy my only problem both in the Light novel and The anime was that rudeus promised to stay loyal if rudeus had not the promise, i would have cared less but i understand why rifujin did it that way.. rifujin wanted rudeus to promise to stay loyal to make the mistake because well its a paul parralels rudeus thing. In season 1 rudeus looks down upon paul for being a cheating scumbag, and as the story goes on rudeus realizes that he isn't that much different from paul and that he can just easy make similair mistakes which are things i like about paul and rudeus's dynamic. Of course paul was not depressed as hell when he cheated and zentih was millis faith straight up and told paul to stay loyal so that changes things a bit but either way it was still cheating due to rudeus making the vow to stay loyal as a husband.

I totally cried with no shame. It was when Zenith grabbed Paul’s gauntlets and finally showed a sliver of emotion. The only times I remember crying while watching/reading anything was when I saw Haku die as a kid and when Reze got got in Chainsaw Man.
There was a difference in the Roxy Rudy scene which I prefer. Firstly it was rudeus who pulled Roxy back not the other way round. Secondly Rudy explained everything, he fully explained why he was so sad at Paul’s death, the fact that for the second time he didn’t care about his parents. He pretty much told her that he was a reincarnate, and she worked it out. Also mental health isn’t really a thing in this world, they don’t rlly understand stuff like depression. Rudy hadn’t been diagnosed eating for like weeks, so Roxy just heard that sometimes men who were depressed who elinalise slept with would get better, so she wanted to help.

My personal head cannon is that Cliff is an eater, and in this world, that's a rare thing. Elinalise was lowkey puppeteering in the background. Between that and the worlds primitive mental health standards, they only had one choice in fixing Rudy, the question was who. Sylphie said if it was her, she would have done the same thing.

Rudeus didn't like roxy like that. He looked up to her but didn't want to date her until elinalise told him she was pregnant and he was practically forced to marry her. That is something that was taken away from the anime, elinalise told rudeus that roxy was pregnant to get him to marry her and it was also elinalise who told roxy to "put hik to bed" to cure him.
How did rudy become so weak?! We couldn't understand the fighting of the season,rudy was very powerful in our mind and we never thought he would loose to that monster, it's like he was nerfed!
Rudeus has a lot of weakness like he can't heal without incantations, he doesn't like violence/killing, the hydra is a lot stronger, it's also faster than the demon eye, and he doesn't have enough experience to fight a dungeon boss.
I watched a video on the morals in The Incredibles (pixar). Looking back at how you presented Roxy's dilemma here reminds me back to how Syndrome, the villain in Incredibles, justified his actions, and how Mr. Incredibles reacted to it, right before the "if Everyone's super no one is" quote. It boils down to Mr. Incredibles saying "You mean you killed off real heroes so you could... *PRETEND* TO BE ONE?!!" Despite perhaps making a similar crime, what makes Roxy much less of a villain is that she's basically his one salvation (again), and no one is telling her that Rudy absolutely would reciprocate her love, much less ask her hand in marriage despite having a wife and a child already. Syndrome however, believes that might is right, that everyone around him is less than him, and chooses to double down on his pride/envy, and wrath whatever the reason may be. You might also say there's also some gender dynamics differing these two, but that's a part of the factors equally in play here, and people have waaaay more nonuniform (and very emotional/loaded) opinions on that. Especially anime fans. So I chose not to talk about it here because I'm a coward.
They cut out some stuff. But Rudy been stuck in the room for 1 week not eating or sleeping. They tried everything they could to get him out. They were legitimately worry he was going to die. Then someone forgot who said they saw elanise sleep with a man and they came back to life. So Roxy determined to help Rudy out try to get him to go to the brothel. It didn’t work. But then Rudy in the ln was the one to push Roxy down and it was said he was very rough with her. So yeah they r both toxic. Poor slyphy but slyphy expected it

anime covers a third of the content in the novel its not like he went to the dungeon, killed the hydra, then roxy comes in a day later, rudeus was inside that room for a week without eating anything it also covers why she pushed herself onto him, there's a bar scene where elinalise hints to roxy that she should save him by sleeping with him

Rudeus didn't like roxy like that. He looked up to her but didn't want to date her until elinalise told him she was pregnant and he was practically forced to marry her. That is something that was taken away from the anime, elinalise told rudeus that roxy was pregnant to get him to marry her and it was also elinalise who told roxy to "put hik to bed" to cure him.

How did rudy become so weak?!
We couldn't understand the fighting of the season,rudy was very powerful in our mind and we never thought he would loose to that monster, it's like he was nerfed!
Rudeus has a lot of weakness like he can't heal without incantations, he doesn't like violence/killing, the hydra is a lot stronger, it's also faster than the demon eye, and he doesn't have enough experience to fight a dungeon boss.
He s a mage with 99 int and 10 Str and constitution having to fight a Magic resistant Hydra.
The lain problem was that only paul could cut the necks

Looking back at how you presented Roxy's dilemma here reminds me back to how Syndrome, the villain in Incredibles, justified his actions, and how Mr. Incredibles reacted to it, right before the "if Everyone's super no one is" quote. It boils down to Mr. Incredibles saying "You mean you killed off real heroes so you could... *PRETEND* TO BE ONE?!!"
Despite perhaps making a similar crime, what makes Roxy much less of a villain is that she's basically his one salvation (again), and no one is telling her that Rudy absolutely would reciprocate her love, much less ask her hand in marriage despite having a wife and a child already.
Syndrome however, believes that might is right, that everyone around him is less than him, and chooses to double down on his pride/envy, and wrath whatever the reason may be.
You might also say there's also some gender dynamics differing these two, but that's a part of the factors equally in play here, and people have waaaay more nonuniform (and very emotional/loaded) opinions on that. Especially anime fans. So I chose not to talk about it here because I'm a coward.

Then someone forgot who said they saw elanise sleep with a man and they came back to life. So Roxy determined to help Rudy out try to get him to go to the brothel. It didn’t work. But then Rudy in the ln was the one to push Roxy down and it was said he was very rough with her. So yeah they r both toxic. Poor slyphy but slyphy expected it

it also covers why she pushed herself onto him, there's a bar scene where elinalise hints to roxy that she should save him by sleeping with him
