Just did mine a blue curve to the left. Wet sanded with 800 then a 1000 using my D/A. Hand sanded after using the Da. I used meguiars 1 step.. and wool pad. Looks great. Going to try some meguiars marine miracle polish and finish it with meguiars Hybrid ceramic wax. Just getting into buffing and polishing. I enjoy it. Should be able to find plenty of work . I live on a house boat at good size marina. In northern Alabama. Hour from Chattanooga. 2 hours from Nashville. Good idea about polishing slides. Thank you. I appreciate your videos.
I use to detail fibre glass vans and trucks, I found that the fibre glass is a lot more Lenient towards your surface preparation, when it’s oxidised bad I found it a lot more time efficient to do a quick sweep with a heavy corse compound and then a final do over with a 2 in one cut and wax. (The depth of the top coat also has to be taken into consideration)
I have the exact same slide, my slide is missing the plastic tube of the water hose that goes on top where can I found one? Also the paint looks like its fading in some places. Can it be repaint? And last question what's the name.of the orange sponge?
If a polish doesn't work, or it's past that. Don't throw it out or make it hard, get dolphinite gel coat spray paint cans. You don't have to buy the spray equipment, buy excess expensive gel coat, mix colors or deal with clean up. They'll even mix custom colors into the cans, and you can custom the paint job to match the patio, pool, etc. Couldn't be easier, and it'll look like new.
