The Indonesian all-female band Voice of Baceprot, or “Noisy Voice” in English, is gaining international attention. Formed in 2014 by three teenage girls, the heavy metal band, also known as VoB, is popular for its rebellious songs. One of the band’s biggest hits, School Revolution, criticises the country’s strict education system. The band members, who grew up in a conservative town in West Java province, initially struggled to gain their parents' support.

"In the village I come from, girls playing heavy metal is uncommon."
Probably the understatement of the decade.
This is an understatement even in Finland.
That made me laugh, Ozzy would be like they speak funny are they from Leeds?
🤣🤣🤣 agreed!
ROTFLMFAO
yeah. also, most of girls of her age are married or engaged. so you can see that these girls are true heavy metal minded. my total respect.
"Defies social norms." That's what metal was made for! Keep rockin' ladies!
To be quite honest, in the future I always believe that Indonesia will revive the rock hype around the world! Indonesia and its rock movement will never die, hopefully more opportunities for indie rock bands in Indonesia will come out and start a revolution in Asia and across the globe.
They will
To be quite honest, many nowadays Indonesian were rotten in the K-POP cultures.
Absolutely...!!!

As a heavy metal head I'm really happy to see those girls playing metal and rock music. I do support them and wish they could go to the big scene one day and win them all. I hope they'll play with the world stars of heavy metal and rock music one day. I hope they'll be famous heavy metal group🙏

They will perform at Wacken in 2022
At least this is pure honesty and not virtue signaling like the Linda Linda's phenomenon

They just performed in Europe last year.
Music is the universal language. I absolutely love this. Please let the girls know that the Lone Star State of Texas loves them. I hope they can tour state-side, soon.
They start the Europe tour first though
They are making tour in Europe now.

I've been a metal head pretty much all my life. These girls get it, metal is not forced when trying to convey a message, it commands your attention. It just flows all the while enjoying making the art come to life 😊
Guess lots of Chinese or HongKong ppl got it wrong …
@@Philip-dy3ww and thats okay. Metal is a very misunderstood genre of music. Mostly due to disinformation, fear and traditionalists. But if people were to open their minds a little bit more that METAL is not what they think it is. It is an expressive, albeit an aggressive form of art lol but I also understand its not everyone's cup of tea
@@mysteryguy3290 I'm African American and have been listening to heavy metal since the age of 12. It all started with Nirvana, then Deftones to In Flames.
I was told, because I'm Balck, that I shouldn't be listening to that kind of music. In the 90s, I was the only one at those concerts.
It's mostly definitely misunderstood like you said, and it looks like people are finally starting to get it. Music shouldn't have a "color" or "gender" to define or be associated with it. I listened to it because it makes me "feel", there's true art of expression and passion in that genre of music. Because of its stigma, I think it allowed the genre to thrive even more so, because people who make that music are genuinely interested and happy to express themselves in that format, and it's glorious!
Right now my new favorite band is Lord of the Lost.
They look so cool in those outfit with Heavy Metal, go rock the whole world, girls, you can do it! \m/

You know, you do what you gotta do to make your voice be heard. Here in the US, music is just entertainment, and there are no laws governing what you can and cannot play. In other places, especially in repressive Muslim countries, playing heavy metal or other "decadent" music can get you in deep trouble. I admire these young ladies and anyone else who is brave enough to defy these repressive regimes and makes their voice be heard.
Indonesia is not middle east, we have democracy here, we dont have repressive regime, they dont defy any kind of government laws!! There is no such law that ban women to do anything here, we have our first women president around 15 years ago,
Although we have diverse muslim communities which adopt different religous perspective, some are open minded to music, we have environment that allow ppl to their own thing according to their passion

@@Chromodar LOL. Actually I did just that. Doesn’t change the fact the audio could have been better handled on this video though.
@@TheMusicolophile True,by the time it's recorded on whatever inexpensive device they use, then upload whatever file format it's in to tubeyou's format,we're talking about serious file degredation. Too bad they didn't have a new iphone, digital recorder, etc. to provide quality vid files suitable for our delicate ears. But the story itself is AWESOME. Hat's off,Ladies!
@@kendirtiestsaffi4178 My criticising the lack of attention on the sound quality in this specific video does not mean that the video was bad or that this bands performance in the video was lacklustre. It was merely something I noticed that could have been easily handled in a more professional manner. The sound quality struck me as lazy and in a video regarding sound, I found it to be a slightly unacceptable oversight. Maybe in future videos regarding sound, they can apply a little more effort in conveying those sounds to us. Constructive criticism always leads to better things or interesting new ideas, so said my high school art teacher in days past.
