Tribalism, or nationalism as it sometimes referred to, is a very natural human state (and very common in the wider animal kingdom). By governments trying to eradicate the natural way in which people self-select with whom they wish to live and commune, by creating internationalism, they have failed to understand the predilection of human nature. Therefore, what we have now is a 'multicultural' society where individual populations live separate lives according to their own prejudices and interests. We have a self-segregated society, even though politicians love to pretend that we are a successful multicultural society.

I lived abroad for the whole of the 1990s. When I came back in 2000 I did not recognise the UK. I couldn’t quite explain it in words and no one around me seemed to be in agreement. But Time has revealed all.
An analysis of the statute book beginning in 1956 up till now, will reveal the utter lunacy that has taken place. Much of which has facilitated an expanding and increasingly dysfunctional system of state. This has led, inexorably to the almost complete inversion of our laws and traditions
Indeed. The only response to this which attracts my withering criticism is anyone who seems to think it’s a catalogue of errors, all a set of mistakes. Mistakes Were Not Made. This is all intentional, deliberate, patiently destructive. Highly effective, because few believe anybody would do such a thing. But they have and they’ve done it everywhere, in parallel. The West is irretrievably lost and broken. It’s the end of a major epochal phase of civilisation.

I feel like I'm prouder of being British than most left wingers that were born and bred here. Anyway, I've decided that I'm moving back to Oz next year. The UK has changed for the worse I'm afraid.
What has happened to the quality of educated men in Britain? The men who wrote the old constitution created such an excellent instrument of government that as David said it was flexible enough to take on many challenges. The men who have destroyed it are mere fools by comparison. Interestingly similar highly intelligent men with foresight created the Australian Constitution which was enacted in 1901. In a similar fashion it has been highly flexible to similar challenges we face down here. Based on the British Constitution of course. Unfortunately Labor down here are also trying to destroy the constitution and are also mere fools.
@@richardruff8712 We had a massive drop off in the quality of politician in 2007 down here. Now all we get is left and light left and nothing changes or improves.
The term Brits was once only used as a somewhat derogatory term by Americans whom, in retaliation, we would call Yanks. Presently, to be British implies modernity, while to be called English raises the suspicion of xenophobia. We need to watch carefully those who redefine language because it is these people who wish to impose their radical ideology by stealth.
Starmer's loyalty to Davos decision makers shows he lacks confidence in his and other Brits ability to govern Britain. What a jerk ! What a traitor ! FACT !
Most of the Tory parliamentary party subscribe to the WEF and most voted against the nation state in 2016. You're obviously a tribalist with no objective sight.
He hasn’t said that. Merely that Blair / Brown governments dismantled important constitutional powers in a systematic manner such that it’s impossible to recover the nation. It’s being flown into the mountain deliberately. All parties are involved. The very few years from 1997 onwards was the biggest course change in our history.

Don't tell Saddo Kahn, he will want to get his sticky little fingers on the 'pollution' charge for all those years.
We need more guys like this .
Dr David Starkey , wonderful as always 💗
100% David Starkey, a True Britain, sadly we are to be the minority in this once great nation.
Thanks to the Tory Liberal non Conservative party for 14 years.
Great commentary David
Anyone who’s lived long enough will know that Labour always always makes a complete balls of the country.
I am in the US, and leftists typically always make a pig's breakfast of everything. You have Labour in the UK. We have The Democrat Party here in the US.
Anyone who’s lived long enough will know that Labour AND Tories, always always make a complete balls of the country. Possibly the definition of ' Incompetence '
Sadly, I know that to be true. Re the interview, Professor Starkey is so right when he describes the removal of decision making vital to the interests of the UK from democratic input, let alone control and so devastatingly accurate in his assessment of the abilities and the character of our new Prime Minister. All in all, a brilliant interview and well done to the interviewer for not having, as is so often the case, too much input but just enough to guide Professor Starkey towards the most interesting, and important, issues that face us.
Who ran the country for the the last 14 years?
@@freddymzungu well they always lose because they get obsessed with arguing amongst themselves.
Shouldn't the title be.... " How ALL the Political Parties succeeded in breaking Britain "
He's a Tory tribalist.
Lets not forget that the conservatives are also to blame
Absolutely... 50 years of amateur incompetence...
Their blame is one of' ommission' which of course is equally bad
In many respect more so. They could have spent 14 years dismantling it but the none conservative Tory Liberal Party went along with the Uniparty line and just put it all on steroids.
What a brilliant man.Tell it how it is. Thank you. Learn and entertain.
He makes our problems easy to understand, thank you Sir.
Starmer will do anything for money. Sold his soul a long time ago. May God forgive him, because we won’t.
Thank you for your very useful video, we are extremely lucky to have people like yourself. God bless you. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🍀🍀🍀
Yes..we want our country and our democracy back...
Then we should all STOP voting for Labour and Tory....
We won't get it from Starmer.

A truthful view of our recent history
There are some good people around that need to take control…. Starkey, Habib, Anderson, Bridgen , would be a start.
They all do something that is hated by “the establishment” they speak the truth.
They do but the need to form a group they need to take action and get the public too revolt and speak up use the laws against these tyrants.
I wasn't aware they had a party...have I missed something?
Starkey won't see that they are merely the operatives, not the architects.
Good listen. Spot on.
Very interesting, insightful and hits many nails on the head.
I so enjoyed listening to that.
Excellent in depth analysis by Professor Starkey, clearly hasn't much time for Starmer, I wonder how he feels about Farage?
There are no politicians with the slightest chance of power who are not in the pocket of the globalists.
In the field of independent commentators, the same is true of any with a large audience.
It’s hard to accept but after almost five years of campaigning, it’s so.
He's a Tory tribalist
David, I wish you were our PM. Imagine that for one minute.
Me too he's awake
It was Blair aim to so change Britain it could never recover😊
The Tories put it on steroids. They're a liberal party that don't believe in conservatism.
Any opposition party hoping to replace Labour at the next election must pledge to revoke ALL laws made by Labour since Blair. Just think, no more SNP, or Welsh Labour. No more Khan and Labour PCCs. I could go on, but it would take the rest of the page.

@@suzanne386Douglas Murray is pure establishment containment, that you compare Starkey to him makes me think twice about him too.
Most Tory parliamentarians voted against the nation state in 2016. Its why we are where we are. Liberals who don't believe in conservatism.
When Mr Starkey comes on, I put my coffee down, turn of my laptop, put my dog in the garden.....and listen.
Blaire definitely broke Britain and he is still pulling Starmers strings
Am I missing something.....the Tories have had 14 years!!!
"How The Uniparty Broke Britain" Don't pretend the LibLabCon wasn't all the same, don't rewrite history.
A capitalist parties for the capitalist class in the interests of a capitalist state. If you support such an exploitative system that puts the pursuit of profit before the needs of people and the environment, why do you expect it to work in _your_ benefit?
@@sbor2020socialised capitalism. We pay if they fail.
Once again the reactionary section of the working class are making a pact with the capitalist class, it happened in 2016 in the referendum. This pact relies on the working class to become divisive, and eschew class solidarity: the perfect Daily Mail reader! You create a simple world in which there are capitalists and there are the capitalist lackeys with their respect for the ingenuity of the capitalists and disdain for foreigners, and anyone showing class solidarity with anyone other than the small-minded lackeys! Simple really!
It's the Uni-party. Voting will never fix this, the agenda continues regardless of what side of the party is in.
Exactly. He's a Tory tribalist. No objectivity in this man.
A real eye opener, thank you very much David for outing these these treacherous low life’s
At what stage do the British realise they have a UNI party?
It drives me mad as well. Two party braindead tribalism.
The conservatives weren’t exactly a saving grace either, people need to get out of this two column politics
Anyone else seen the 10 part documentary Europa? The fact the wiki page for it immediately says it’s antisemitic, is actually the point the film makes, and if we do make Islamophobia a law, we will walk down the exact same path that the documentary describes.
Upwards social mobility is still possible in America. There is an instance of a guy that was filmed working in Mc Donald’s and in just few days he became a guest on Joe Rogan which almost broke the internet. Forgotten his name though.

I lived abroad for the whole of the 1990s. When I came back in 2000 I did not recognise the UK.
I couldn’t quite explain it in words and no one around me seemed to be in agreement. But Time has revealed all.
Just wonderful.

‘Not for Self but Empire’, this is what is proudly inlayed into the plynth in my home village. Bellerive, Tasmania. In ode to all the local lads who volunteered in 1914.
A European war cannot be anything but a cruel, heartrending struggle, which, if we are ever to enjoy the bitter fruits of victory, must demand, perhaps for several years, the whole manhood of the nation, the entire suspension of peaceful industries, and the concentrating to one end of every vital energy in the community….a European war can only end in the ruin of the vanquished and the scarcely less fatal commercial dislocation and the exhaustion of the conquerors. I moved to the UK from Australia in 2008. This place has become my home, so much so I became a citizen last year.

And the Tories have done nothing but right by the country .... what a load of bollocks
