Sorry Dr Starkey I'm still voting Reform as I fully agree with what you say however I doubt its this party that will do any of it, what you say is not a revelation has been widely know by these people but they chose to be Blairites, closet Marxists/socialists, woke liberals and just general misanthropes and cant be trusted, their manifestos like labours are not worth the paper they are printed on and the sly political games they play are infuriating and very telling of their quality as people and their moral bankruptcy. Of course it would be a whole other paragraph to mention the widespread corruption that both parties seem to indulge themselves in while writing laws to make it legal so they can just laugh at the public. Put bluntly Dr Starkey a political party can only piss in folks pockets and tell them that its raining for so long and I think their time is up, and labours is coming to an end all in good time. Sorry if it seems as I am ranting but this is how I feel and I have nothing against you.

I've finally understood what Prof. Starkey meant when he said that Blair/Brown had re-engineered democracy to protect minorities from the majority. He meant that under law, minorities would have privileges that the wider population would be denied. Two Tier Kier is using the system which New Labour installed in our constitution with the Equalities Act. This Act does the opposite of what it claims: it makes all men unequal before the law.
Gordon Brown did not trust democracy to deliver his plan for a socialist utopia, so he created the conditions which would deliver a socialist government by the back door, which could not be removed. It’s a form of political sublimation. Socialism always fails, but in our parliamentary system we could eject those who created the failure, but now we can’t. Now we have all the trappings of Soviet socialism within the quangos of the civil service by stealth. So we are seeing all the convolutions of a socialism/statism overlayed on a population that hasn’t agreed to it and still believe that their vote counts. Instead of creating their utopia, they’ve instead created a form of apartheid which they can only manage by the use of force by putting anyone in prison who aligns with what amounts to state created tribalism. Essentially it’s already falling apart and I’d fully expect for the degree of statism to get increasingly worse as it becomes apparent to everyone that force is now the only currency on the table.

IMO, the message has been loud and clear, "LISTEN TO US from the bottom of the heap". All the panel members seem to either come from or belong to the upper middle class who know what's best for us little worker bees - in that I also include David Starkey, he certainly doesn't belong to us lower classes any more. At the moment (Oct 24), there are only 5 people in Parliament representing the Great Unwashed like me and thee - and that's Reform UK and I don't think the Tories have the wherewithal to enable them to connect to any other community, certainly the little worker bees up and down the country.

Only £1500 can be GIVEN in a tax year to siblings or others...THIS has NOT CHANGED since 1982! When one could BUY flat for £10000!
Stamp Duty..£250000...what can one BUY say in Norfolf..for that price NOW (in 2024)?
Wages..blue colour workers are earning (if in GOODemployment) £40-45k plus) but STILL unable to save..
Tax threshold NEEDS to be raised...to above £20000
I left the British Army in 2010 and had a max payout on my pension on AFPS75 (Armed Forces Pension 1975) of £48500 (give or take) and I am stating this because I am justifying my comment...with inflation of average 3% for 15 years..that payout is now nearly £79000..people's earnings are NOT being matched..EVEN IFVones parents have a house to give you..they have to live 7 years!! Then one has to pay death duty..or pay tax on a property over and above what ones parents paid (when they paid a mortgage..on a wage they had (ALREADY) paid tax on anyway...

I'm pleasantly surprised that this was not the biased, Left-wing, BBC version of Question Time.
Of course, Dr. Starkey has better things to do with his time.

Don’t just look to correct the New Labour constitutional changes, start to argue the moral case for capitalism as individual freedom, not purely as an engine to ‘lift all boats’ . As long as capitalism is shackled to the needs of the poor, the moral argument will always be one by the socialists. As long as selfishness is regarded as bad, collectivism will always triumph.

For saying he is meant to be a historian, Starkey is such a completely and utterly stupid and ignorant man. Listen to his comments objectively, they are completely vacuous.

You really are missing the whole point here aren't you! Starkey never debates anybody, all he ever does is spout his mindless rubbish without ever justifying it. But at meetings like this, he doesn't have to justify anything does he! . Look at the panel here at the POP CON conference, all the other speakers are completely of a like mind, as are all the audience! Listen to what the panelists say,.......they all agree with each other, ......there is NO DEBATE. The Pop Con lot are about as far right as you can get in the Tory Party, i.e. somewhere to the right of poor old Lizzie Truss! They are all simply a bunch of right wing extremists who live in the same echo chamber! I'd just love to see Starkey in a debate with seasoned journalists, or modern historians, or anyone with a basic common sense. It's Starkey who would be 'floored' with his unsubstantiated gibberish!

@@ManofTruth999 the only way out of the utter disaster that is facing this country under two tier Starmer is a right wing government. The Tories have tried being a mish mash of left of center and soft right and it failed. But as usual the socialists will run out of money and the Conservatives will have to clean up the mess. It will be history repeating itself just as it has done so many times before. My point is that as you accused him of spouting mindless rubbish why don't you debate him and prove it. I'm sure he won't mind.

@@ManofTruth999 You cannot understand Starkey because you are thick. There is nothing to challenge in what he said - he is simlly pointing out reality and historical truth - and no woke modern historian could ever come close to challenging Starkey.
