Thanks Mark! I sure do appreciate your support here at Music Made Easy. You are a great pianist yourself and have such a successful RUclips channel. I really appreciate you coming to visit here each and every week.
@@BenBennett10 appreciated also your positive response on my channel.. Your video really helps a beginner musicians.. I normally observe how you share your ideas so i can share it with my students
Thank you for this info that couldn't have come at a better time for me, having moved my keyboard to my desk so as to have it directly in front of the computer. That's the good news. it facilitates learning songs whether by ear (able to play and replay a song or section) or via tutorial. The bad news, although my chair swivels up and down, not nearly as high as I need to be, meaning poor posture and especially unnecessary stress on my arms. So 9 is the magic number. Can I assume this is between the seat and TOP of the keys? ]Edited to correct that *9* is the magic number.]
Yes! Between the seat and the top of the keys, like I show in the video. I'm glad this is going to help you Stephanie!!! Let me know if it feels better when you get things adjusted!! 🎹👍
@@BenBennett10 The distance is more than any easy adjustment. I'll need to get a stool or something. It's looking like in the meantime I'll need to replace my office chair with a sturdier table chair with a flatter seat area to hold my Random House Encyclopedia. (Remember those old fashioned things people used to use before you could google and get information written anonymously? :D) By the way, you said it was the measurement fo the top of the keys "like I show in the video.: I didn't see anyone else comment about this, and so I'm wondering if has to do with just my computer somehow,. But it was difficult to WATCH at the same time that you were speaking with the whole video so badly out of synch. It made it too confusing, so I listened to the entire video but had to stop watching. In any event, I did know that I had to do *something* about the odd angle, and you had told me you'd be doing this video. I've been looking forward to it. It seems from comments that a number of us appreciate the guidance! :)
@@stephanieknows1668 Thanks Stephanie! Now, as far as the audio and video being out of sync - I wonder what is happening... it is fine in my original file that I uploaded to RUclips, and when I watch it on RUclips they are sync'd properly. This is the first time I've heard of this issue..... hmmmm.... i'll have to investigate that a bit....
@@BenBennett10 Hah! :) Did you do something to your video? It's FINE now. By the way, earlier, I did check some other video (where someone was speaking) and that video was fine, whereas this one was not. But since other commenters said nothing about it, I figured it still must have something to do with my own computer. Anyway, now that it's working fine for me, what I realize is that it was not only out of synch but with glitches. (I could tell there were visual glitches. It wasn't so easy to know if words were missing.) And it's pretty funny, as NOW when you sit on the red chair and say your arm is not making the correct angle and feels cramped, whereas EARLIER the audio (in that same place) was noting the correct angle. Didn't look like it to me! You have no idea how confused I was. Well, it's working now, and I see now that not once but TWICE you state the measurement is => to the top of the keyboard. That I didn't hear it the first time was probably part glitch and part that I didn't hear it over the distraction of my continually thinking "What the heck?!" :D Oh well, one of life's mysteries!
@@stephanieknows1668 Whew!! I'm glad we got that figured out with the video playback! And, I'm glad it makes sense to you now. Never hesitate to ask me if something seems funny or off on my videos. I COULD ways make a mistake and you could be saving me from lots of embarrassment!! ⭐🧒

This is really great information. I bet alot of people didn't know the height recommendations for a piano stool or bench as compared to where the keyboard is at. Great job teaching us again this week!!

Wow! No one has ever taught me that! I thought you would be talking about how to sit up straight and not hump over the keyboard but never knew about measuring the heights and differences between the stool and keyboard. I will measure mine right away! Thanks for this information!
