  • An in depth walkthrough and comparison between three popular compact wireless mic kits: the Hollyland Lark 150, Rode Wireless Go II and Mirfak WE10. Including sound and distance tests, physical design, usage and feature comparisons.
    *Mirfak has told me they've updated the firmware to deal with the high gain issue, but the update only works on PC so I haven't been able to test it myself.

    Hi Scott, is the audio better quality when recorded internally uncompressed on the Rode Transmitter as compared to feeding it into the camera? I am considering whether it is better just to use the recording in the Transmitter always and make the audio recorded from the camera as a back up instead. Also, is there any way to pad or lower the input level from the inbuilt mic or external lav of the transmitter (for too hot signal) and not just lower the level of the output from the receiver? Thank you.

    Thank you for your amazing review, actually i start doing some vlogs outside (lot of wind and noise from car and motorcycle) and also some song cover (sing and guitar/keyboard) outside or inside. So i want to buy wireless microphone that can be used for both conditions especially when outside and there are a lot of background noise i mentioned earlier but still good enough to record music performances, would you recommend rode wireless go ii, hollyland lark 150 dual or godox movielink m2 or maybe saramonic blink b2? Thank you

    Thanks even though this is a little older, I am about to get the SYNCO G2 system.. Seems to be one of the best Budget alternative right now... Watching this bc I am interested in the HollyLand even though it has maxed reviews and not able to charge them with out the box it comes with.. Too bad they did not have some kind of back up way to charge them and I have read the battery life is pretty bad apparently? Thanks

      They definitely can all do a good job. The battery life on the Hollyland is not bad, if you consider the extra charges held in the case especially.

    I was ready to buy the Lark 150, but the lack of backup record killed the deal. Love the rest of the package, but I've been burned by dropped signal in the past. Hollyland: if you can fix this for your next release I'll gladly buy it.

    Thx for sharing details. Can you tell me which one of them is the best to buy? I have bought a gimbal Hohem iSteady X and I want a bluetooth wireless microphone too.

      Not sure about the bluetooth wireless mic part of that, but of these three I like the Rode best overall.

    For live streaming using Switcher Studio, what system is there to monitor what the other person is saying, (with no lag) if they are not next to you? For example, commenting on a sports game and the other person walks away a bit more than being in earshot. So we are not on camera, so we can have any type of headphones on and any type of microphone? I note the DJI have an headphone option

    Hollyland sounds so so much better in comparison hearing it from earphones

    is rode wireless GO compatible with other lavalier microphones except rode?

    • @ScottDumas
      @ScottDumas  3 года назад

      It has a 3.5mm input that should work for pretty much any external lav with a 3.5mm connection :)

    Had the unfortunate experience to by the synco g1 a2 system right before the lark was released. Horrible experience with synco

      A review for the Synco wireless I’m looking for. What didn’t work just wondering?

      I'd say I like the Rode kit best, honestly... but the usability of the Lark is amazing- no powering on or waiting for pairing, just pull it out and it's ready to go, same ease for charging.
