- Just a little update of the fish room. Adult Frontosa's are all upstairs. And my big boy Belrog even got in on the action. Any questions please ask away.

Love tropheus but haven’t kept them since 94. All the colony’s look great.

hi i have a 75 gallon tank with 30 tropheus 5 have died already and they suddenly have started acting like dolphins to sharks towards each other what can i do and what do you feed them i was feeding them new life spectrum the smallest pellets they have soaked in water for five minutes before they are released and now im feeding them seaweed and letting them eat algae from the rocks

Impressive selection,just a question how do you catch them when they holding
remove everything in tank and put a divider in the middle with all fish on one side. net and check every fish and put them on the empty side. 1 gallon buckets for any holder to strip right away to get her back into the tank, less stress. each holder gets her own bucket. never mix fry or eggs until fully developed.
I want to keep a colony of trophues can you help me how to rais becaues most of may fish dies and in what time they will start to breed please help

Do u have any tropheus ilangi fry available
You mentioned that you unfortunately loss several Ilangi. What problem(s) did you experience?
At the beginning it appeared to be bloat but it was unresponsive to Metro treatments. Than some fish were advancing into popeye and some were getting Dropsie . Only thing that helped were 90% water changes. Tried many different antibiotics with no luck.
What is the variety that appear green in colour at 1m 18s (sounded like ikondi)?

@@charlesdavis3481 thank you. Is it correct to say that Tropheus moori Nkonde would be a more "solid" green rather than the "striped" green of Tropheus murago green? Do you sell and ship to Europe?
@@roscelt When Nkonde is charged up, it is a solid yellow iridescent, I wouldn't compare it to a Tropheus sp. maculatus Mulunguzi (green murago). Both are beautiful species. Sorry I do not ship.
How many variants do you currently keep and where are you located ?
25 groups of Tropheus and 4 groups of Frontosa. Laketanganyikacichlids.com is where to find nice Tangs.
What are those in the tank at 4:30?
those are Frontosa Burundi fry

Are your tanks running on only sponge filters?
All Breeder tanks have a Fluval FX5 or FX6 running on them. Frontosa breeders have 2 of them. 27 of them running currently. Everything else is sponge filter only.
At what age / size trophues breed ?
And size of aquriem needed?
2 years old is a good average

@@sjkhan35 Venting is the most reliable way. But I don't worry about ratio unless there is an issue.

Bless the fish stop stripping them do it the natural way
and let all the fry get eaten. No I have to strip them or I wont have any fry left. I have gotten to this point by learning lessons on the way.
it is clear from scientific research that for fry the most important part of life is life in the mouth of the mama, special hormones develop (it has a huge impact on the life of a further fish life ), in such breeding as you show here you make fish "disabled"
Prove it. There is no scientific research that has found stripping fry has any negative side effects. You opened your mouth, now back it up.
