Was looking for a video like this last week. Every video I found was like 8 years old. Not the most fun video to make I bet but it surely helps beginners to flash photography like myself.
Between cable confusion and multiple launchers Godox/Flashpoint has made a mess of upgrading FW. AD200 uses A type, R2PRO uses type C and reciever R2 uses yet another cable, Micro B. Thanks for taking some confusion out. Three different connectors for products bought at the same time is frustrating.
1. The website you gave isn't working. I am trying to update my V860IIC because my Canon EOS R's ISO continually changes when the flash is in use. 2. The flash shows it has Version 1.8, the latest version. WTH.
I'll give it another shot. I tried a couple days ago, and couldn't make anything work. I'll try again today, and if it doesn't work, I'll reach out to you or Alex.. Tech is NOT my strong suit... thanks for the easy directions btw.
Robert, thanks for this video. As you know from emails this week I just ordered and rec'd the eVolv200 Pro to add to my existing kit of Godox V860II x2 and the XPro-N. So now (at 5:01) I learned I could have fried that stuff due to not pressing the ON switch after removing the battery to eliminate any residual power-hmm, did I even remove the battery? Don't remember. So, in the User Guide with the eVolv 200 Pro, it says on pg 21 to download from Adorama the "F3" installer, then click on the page where the device is shown to download the firmware. Could only find the eVolv200, not Pro and I noticed that model said to use the "F2" installer. So, thoroughly confused, I just quit, thankfully. Now I learn at 7:10 and in your commentary below the video, I can just use the Godox firmware for my eVolv200 Pro. Hopefully, I don't need to update but, if I do, you have likely saved a brand new piece of equipment from frying. Thanks for this info plus thanks for all your other helpful videos to show me the best stuff to order, like those really cool Rogue Grid Gels for the Round Head! ⭐x5
Robert did you get the firmware updater working in Windows 10 without disabling secure driver signing? I tried a few weeks ago and couldn't get it to work, seemed the software was designed for Windows 7. Is there a new windows 10 updater?
I have a v860ii N that won't get detected on either windows 10 computer I have. I don't know what to do. I bought 480 mbs data transfer cable specifically for this but no dice.
I found this video because I missed the step of taking the battery out of my brand new AD200Pro when I went to update the firmware. Why did I even update it? I've in IT for over 25 years and well, that's just what older IT geeks do. The flash would not come back on. So I figured my bad, I messed up and I should just take the beating and buy another. At least I would have an extra battery and accessories, right? New flash comes in today and I figured it's working this time don't bother it. But, now that I've got something that works, I've just gotta keep messing with the one I bricked. I tried a bunch of other things, still didn't work (BTW, I did take the battery out and discharged it before I tried again and again). So, I noticed there was a "Version A" of the firmware for the AD200Pro but there was no "Version A" labeled on my flash anywhere. I said to myself, "it's already broken, why not try it"? Installed the version A firmware and now my bricked flash is working, YAY!!!!! So now I have two AD200Pro's that work.... much better than having two with one bricked! I followed the steps carefully this time on the second flash and the upgrade worked flawlessly (this one was obviously a Version A as well). Thank you for the video!
Hello, I'm about to update the firmware of my ad200pro too, cos I am getting an E3 error, I read somewhere that updating firmware could fix it. However, I am not sure exactly what version of the firmware to download. Could you please share a link of the firmware version that worked for you? Thanks
You might want to add a bit about the .rar files and 7-ZIP. I was not expecting that after I downloaded the files for my two triggers I had to load the G2 and G3 loaders as well as the new firmware and I did not look at the instructions right away. Just something that would have been nice. Great video... It was really helpful.
aid!!! update with the current version of the program in windows (godox G3) the firmware of my godox x2t trigger for sony and it does not turn on. I already tried reinstalling the firmware and it still doesn't turn on :(
Unless I missed it in the video, I don't recall any mention about downloading the program "7-zip" which is required in order to unzip the GODOX files. I went thru the version upgrade process yesterday and 7-zip is required before a version upgrade can proceed.

I am trying to update the firmware on my Godox v860ii for Nikon and I have removed the battery, downloaded the firmware and the firmware installer, turned the flash switch to ON, and connected the micro USB cable to my computer. The flashloader will not connect to the flash. Could this be something with the microusb cable I am trying to use?

Thank you for your brilliant videos! I've recently changed my Canon 5diii to a Canon R6ii. I'm battling with my Godox X2T and AD300pro. Are you aware of any problems between these two systems?? Thank you!
First thanks ever so much for your wonderful tutorials. The problem with Godox is that my app G3 doesn't recognize none of my Godox devices on MAC OS. I guess it has to do with some USBC problem, but God knows what? It just doesn't work on MAC OS, really a great shame knowing that most photographers are MAC users?! Who will buy a Windows device for just updating your Godox equipment? Have you any experience of using Godox together with MAC, Robert?
Had the issue - saw your comment - and couldn't find any answer online, but when I did I had to come back. I was able to fix the issue this way: Use a USB-C to regular USB plug and run it through an adapter on your mac. The USB-C to USB-C connection didn't work at all for me.
AD200. I switch off bleep (during wedding ceremony) but if I switch off the tx (and ad200) when I switch them back on, the bleep has returned ! Can you help solve this ?

Just updated my TT685 and XProN. Your instructions very helpful but (here in the UK) using Windows 10 I kept getting Connect Failed. Google provided a solution but entailed altering the Secure Boot status to Disabled in the UEFI BIOS and then using the command prompt to disable the integrity check. Only then following your instructions to complete the update. Thereafter, going back to enable Secure boot and reinstate the integrity check. I gather this is because Godox don't sign their USB driver. If you have any influence with them can you get them to rectify this for the future please? I do wonder if I could have more easily updated using the Flashpoint updates via the US Adorama site?

Could a firmware up help my strobe actually fire because it only powers on but don’t fire moonlight still comes though so just wondering if if I need a update so that it actually fire
If your strobe doesnt fire when you hit the test button on the flash - it's likely the bulb is broken or mounted improperly. Otherwise it would have an error code. If it fires there but not when you hit test on the transmitter, then it's likely your channel / group / ID functions are not setup properly. If it fires there but not when you hit your shutter, either your transmitter isn't seated properly, you have the wrong transmitter, or you're in electronic shutter.
