Ive seen guys that can Rip with Rear motor cars, ther was a guy the would set his car up with all rear traction and ald almost no steering und power, he would start steering his car comming into a corner and it would stiil keep going straight until he let off the power and when he let off it would turn it worked perfect with his driving style, he would absolutely fly through the straights sometimes with a frot tire off the ground, and go slow and steady on the inside of every corner and never crash!
The b4 has an excellent transmission. Very free. Run all your electrics in the center, shorty pack in front of those. Raise your front inside ball studs 1mm or more, for better on power steering, move your rear hubs back, play with running 2.5degs toe out. Run a touch of weight near the steering rack. That's what I did.
I honestly don't understand the amazement people have over a rear motor platform working. That's all we had for years. They work in all situations, if you know what you're doing. We had a guy 3 weeks ago run consistent 29sec laps that is typically a 30-31sec lap track with a rear motor car.
Excellent!beautiful how you avoided trouble most of the times. Kudos to you. I also drive a b4 ft. Best 2wd ever. Looking forward to a even better video where it's more dialed and you show those youngsters...
A buddy ran his 22 2.0 rear motor car and it did well on med/low grip. On carpet is where it seemed to lack steering. Would be interesting to see a rear motor car properly setup for carpet vs mid motor cars. Nice driving in the main. The rear end looked really loose
Only issue I’ve been having with my B4.1WC is parts; I managed to snap a shock shaft inside the eyelet on one of the front shocks and have called up about a dozen hobby shops trying to find a replacement. I also have to say that it helps if you’re a great driver (I have never had a run as good as that second qualifier). Very cool, thanks for sharing!
You said it was pushing in the main but that must have only been on entering corners - because on exiting it was oversteering on quite a few occasions. Not sure what your setup is but consider adjusting Ackerman for a more aggressive turn-in... and maybe adjust your rear links for correct camber gain and a slightly lower roll center. I'm not a setup master but I would definitely try those out one at a time to see if you can get your lap times more consistent.
On entry it was pushy and on exit it would oversteer not from the rear but front end would hook. It was a droop issue. As of now the car is as dialed as ever
I have an original b4 team edition that I build in the late 90s. I want to put new electronics in it. What motor and esc should I use? Thank you in advance for any replies.
You mean B2 or B3?. B4 did not come out till 2003. I have the B3 Team edition, still a fun car to drive. I just ripped out all the old electronics and dropped in HW1060 SC for running an old core 27T brushed motor. Trying to decide on a good radio to get. I have a bunch of old cheap radios, but I should modernize. I also have a B4 factory team, a B4RS RTR, and ton of retro Tamiya cars. Need to get myself an old RC10 goldpan car still..
@@RCAlley wow what a coincidence! I was watching your reedy vs xfactor video then this video loaded up and I noticed the background lol. I’m just getting into the rc racing and smac trac is local to me. Maybe someday we’ll meet! Nice videos by the way. Subbed

I guarantee you that mid motor cars are faster even on loose outdoor tracks.
Great run! I thought that was smac. Love it there!

Thanks man. I love the car too. We raced them in a rear motor class yesterday. Video coming next week
Great racing ! I still have the b4.2. Great for all the outdoor tracks I've tried in North Carolina .
Where at in NC? I was tempted to try mine on the carpet track we have in Durham.

That thing was hooked up!! Makes me miss my B4.1 WC! That car was awesome to drive! Proof that Rear motor can still compete!
Sooo hooked up! I've dialed it in even more since.
Makes me want to get my 4.2FT back out and run it some...
Nice Race Car looked good
Thanks man.
Nice wheeling.
I have the old B4.1 Factory Team: such a performant car, always one of the best.
Worth to buy one for 150$ as a first racing RC car I have a arrma senton
@@locallegobrix5984 hard to find parts for these days but if you don't mind hunting spares then yes
Someone has a really nice B5M for sale near me for $200 without electronics, is that a fair price in 2024?

That's one corkscrewing beast
I was wondering if anyone noticed that
What does this mean? The loose goosey rear?

It wasn't transferring weight from front to rear right basically
I miss rear motor. So much better on offroad dirt or hardpack dirt with dust and never needed a fan untill stuff went inboard
Agreed. Still imo the most fun you can have with an rc
Awesome!!!
i actually have a dex210 from team durango that a friend gave me and im gonna try out racing with it
I have a video on the dex210. Still have mine too. It's a descent car to start out with.
Awesome man!!!!
Could you share your setup?????

Hands down the best buggy to this day. I was licking everybody’s butt with a stock rtr b4.2 at my local track for years
Tell that to Dakotah Phend. Lol. TEAM LOSI BABY ALL THE WAY
did you ask before licking their butts? that could be considered harassment . :)
I think you meant to say kicking.
How did you get the front tires to fit on the front hubs.?
B4.2 kit came with 12mm hex
