    Just found your channel after buying a 3800sc donor and an 86 GT manual over the weekend. And I'm local to you guys. Love the content.

    I gutted my supercharger body like that….I’m glad I wasn’t alone, when I decided to gut it like that.
    I also opened up the intake to match.
    I was gonna use a short stack intercooler…I ended up not using the 3800 intercooler, and went with a external turbo intercooler.
    Location of the turbo has two options” exhaust mount, or mount it on the crossover….I ended up plumbing it on the exhaust manifold” this opened up many issues”
    1: automatic transmission blocked most of the oil pan locations” it Literally only have one location to mount the oil return line.
    2.: stress on the exhaust manifold” I ended up getting aftermarket exhaust manifolds…..Made a peg leg on the turbo itself, and made a muffler holder….bottom line no more stress on the front exhaust manifold.
    3: waste gate location….Couldn’t use the ZZP waste gate block off plate…..I ended up plumbing it into the crossover pipe…..I’m still working on this issue…..I might run one on crossover, and a smaller one using the O2 sensor hole.
    Mounting the turbo to the exhaust manifold allows me to use a bigger sized turbo, and allowed me to route the charge pipes to the throttle body easier, and route the exhaust in a good location.

    Basically doing the same build currently. Running fuel tech instead of holley and an N/A intake with a fly by wire throttle body to allow for more trick tuning options. Car is currently together N/A so we can figure out all the tuning with the fuel tech prior to the VS 67/66 going on. Also was back and fourth on air to air vs water to air. Thinking water to air just because it will package better. Not a ton of room even with the trunk gone. Car previously made 400 wheel with a ported m90 with a party pulley on 93 and was an absolute rocket ship. Heat soak was a real problem though. Looking forward to the turbo and seeing how your build turns out.

      Nice! Yeah the turbo will run a lot cooler than the m90. I'm planning on air to water intercooler as well. Air to air in the rear wouldn't be as efficient and would take up more room

    You cut with the open intake. 😢 I am going to have to open the motor to ensure there is nothing in it. Wtf

      Oh shit I didn't even realize. I looked over the footage and the angle grinder guard did good work and the direction they flew I do not think any went in. Worst case scenario I'd remove the lower intake and just inspect/clean it. I personally would not be very concerned.

    cut out the trunk behind the engine and do 6 into 1 header collector and fab some custom longe tube headers it will sound like an f1 car lol

      I had no choice but to cut the Trunk out…..due to the location of the turbo…..no trunk = more room to work on things.

    Pretty foolish to rev the engine like that right after the start.
