It’s because Mario had a personality change. The remake is pretty much a retelling of this story, so Mario already knows who Donkey Kong is, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to yell at him.

One of the best original Mario games for the GBA and in general. It's a shame no true sequels have been made to this and 94's Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. Those two games are some of my favorites.

perhaps it's fitting that what could be Charles Martinet's last role (but probably won't be - they'll totally recycle the archive audio until the cows come home) is a remake of a sequel of a remake of the game that started it all.

"Sonic riders GBA port got cancelled cuz GBA cant handle 3D" Nintendo in 2004 : (freaking makes Mario vs donkey Kong game with 3D cutscenes,and making a remake that is gonna come out soon)
And while the GPA could handle 3D it is rather primitive and wouldn't have been able to work well with Sonic riders both in terms of speed and clarity.
