I am from Romania and the model used (I5 M60) for reviews is 127.000 euro. I am a big fan of BMW, I recently sold my 4 Series Gran Coupe, but the recent prices beginning from 2020 are from another world. The 520I is beginning from almost 59.000 euro, without options and from my point of view, is ridiculous, regarding the depreciation that is coming in the next years. Right now I"m getting used to this line of design, but in the near future I will buy the G30 facelift (2020+), because this model is not worth at least 70.000 euro for a decent configuration, if you will buy the 520D or 520I model, the other models are in the area of 100.000 euro!
When the 5series was launched, most motoring journalists said it looks terrible. Well done, RBR for giving it some time to let the dust settle a bit and then give your review.
I just got an i5 edrive40 Msport with the M pro package, Shadowline, carbon black, red callipers and 21" wheels. I absolutely love the car, it wafts elegantly as a daily but when I needed it to be sportier I set it to Sport mode. It's not the M60, but it's good enough for me.
This was my daily driver for two weeks. And I must say this car impressed me very much. It’s a fantastic dynamic ride, the technology is very up to date, it’s like a mini i7 . But you will need to go into the infotainment to access most of it and then his sucks while driving.
25:54 - That there is the exact reason I HATE capacitive touch interfaces in cars. It forces the driver to take their eyes off the road. I don't understand why manufacturers insist on continuing with this trend.
I'm a big fan of Mercedes and BMW, in my opinion they are the best cars for everyday life, the tests carried out by Mr. amg and these two brands are phenomenal and show the opinion of a person who knows a lot about cars and in addition loves cars, no matter what brand they are, note that the analysis and comments are genuine and not to please a specific brand or to a particular audience... Looks nice I own a M550i. I’m a V8 guy. If I ever was to own an EV this car would be in the running along with Audi and Benz. But for now, long live twin turbo V8’s!

Another great Review! In person the car looks much better than on any picture or video. I was able to see and experience it. I find the design much better than the egg like EQE/EQS sedans. Unfortunately it was a press car so I wasn’t able to drive it yet.
That white water bottle has been the unsung hero for demonstrating the intense torque that this car has. I trusted it more than I trusted Raz’s reactions 😂🤣😂 Great review as always, Mate 👍🏾
2385kg? BMW completely failed on weight lightening which the BMW used to be really good at. Go check out IONIQ 5N that has 650hp and weighs 2200kg with half the i5 M60 price. Loyal Bimmers should criticize this car.
Drove the M60 version last week. Impressive speed and handling, the exterior has yet to grow on me (and I have a '23 760i), but the interior was the big let-down for me. Some nice mini-7 bits, sure, but so much cheap plastic. Didn't feel "luxurious."
Finally someone speaking about this issue i have with the 5 series, thank you ! When i sat in the 5 series i was shocked to find no leather stitching on the dashboard at all and no leather stitching on the center steering cap ! Even the 3 series and 2 series have leather stitched steering caps. The plastic door handle inlays, control area and nobs were a big disappointment as well. Its genuinely weird that no reviewer talked about this issue so far. Unfortunately car journalists are no longer what they used to be, a car is more than just the way it drives !
Bruh if u havent seen the new bmw m3 or m4 with an adro body kit and grille or the CSL one stop what ur doing and check them out. Ritta rides just reviewed the best looking M car ive ever seen in the bmw m4 csl. Other then that though i prefer the m3s look just need some aftermarket 300-800$ add ons and it looks super mean and aggresive. All types of stuff u can do to it. The frozen colors like white and black look the best imo. Prolly black. Performance wise i just couldnt go back to an older bmw too, these new xdrive M cars launch like a tesla plaid. With just 10k in tunes its faster then one too. I use to hate the grille till i saw the aftermarket options now the old bmws look old

As someone who thinks BMW design is incohesive inside and out, I am generally okay with it. I think there's a couple dealbreakers. First, I hate the shiny black plastic lower part of the front bumper. Congratulations for not putting beaver teeth on it - but they had to go ruin it. Make it body color and the exterior is good. Second, I have always been unimpressed with the design of BMW interiors (except 8-series). However, they usually use better materials and are screwed together better than the equivalent Mercedes and Audi. I could put up with the busy (overdesigned) interior if it was high quality. This generation is no different. I like the crystal switchgear (much better than Mercedes' captative touch black plastic). Generally, the new generation of BMW interiors looks like Geometry class threw up all over the place. I also hate the "ambient light" which is more of a "neon sign" - nothing about it is "ambient". . . it's giving me cheap gaming laptop vibe. Again, if it was high quality, I could deal with it. However, apparently they are using fewer soft-touch surfaces and more hard-touch plastics. This is the biggest deal breaker for me in cars. I know that many of the materials are quite nice, but this is still a letdown. I have so many gripes with Mercedes' new-gen cars. However, it looks like the W214 E-class is the only car that didn't take a big L with the redesign. In the non-superscreen model with "exclusive leather" package, you're getting a very beautiful cockpit and even nicer materials. Considering that neither the E nor the 5 series have the right number of genuine tactile buttons, and Mercedes' MBUX software is superior, I think it's the one to get. I just hope that 1) the next-gen E class gets a v8 in the 63, and 2) that they ditch the capacitive touch in the facelift. Both of these cars are so close to being the pinnacle of luxury cars - just let down by modern trends.
Where i live, electricity costs are phenomenally higher than the in the uk or us. Hence, not only is it STILL expensive to run, but is charging even more stuff that environmentally friendly?
The normal grille looks better..and look at the gap between the arch and wheels??? Needs to be lowered by atleast an inch The rear looks good. But I prefer the base non-m sport version
Anti roll stabilisation eh….my 2004 735i Sport had a thing called dynamic drive….yep anti roll stabilisation. Btw, that was the most underrated car ever built. Very similar size and shape to this new 5 series…and mine was in Swartz. Great car 👍👊🖤
My E60 530i has it too, obviously inherited from the E65 7. I love it. Makes it feel like it handles even better than my sport E90 330i (and I do believe it outgrips it).

Thats a lie. Tesla uses rollout for their 0-60 times. Ive seen multiple pulls from 0 and they average 3.4 lowest ive ever seen on a street is 3.3 so its neck and neck with this in acceleration. This has a better speed then the m3p when it pases 60 so this would win in the quarter mile and half mile. It would also win from a roll by a MILE. Hell i just watched a carwow roll and dig race with the i4 m50 and it beat the model 3 performance while being slower then this car.. idk why tesla dorks always have to lie i guess yall just hate on stuff u cant afford. Thing is, teslas aren't a head turner like bmw and Mercedes. No one on the street or at a car meet would EVER double take or take a pic of a tesla. The model 3 and model y designs are not sleek at all they look like fat eggs and the head lights are ugly as shihh. They look like mall cop cars 😂 The model X looks like a mini van. The model s has a decent front end but the boxy rear and out dated tail lights ruin the enitre sleek design. All in all no head turning sound and they look dull and boring inside out. I hate EVs but atleast this gives u a sound if u want it. Taycan still looks the best and has the coolest sound tho 😂 Teslas dont look mean or aggresive at all. Thats what makes fast cars cool. They look like basic traffic 😂 and the interior is a single ipad with a steering wheel and plastic parts. BMW and merc offer carbon fiber all around and in the car,really good quality buttons that feel good to click, luxury or carbon bucket racing seats, HUD,and sporty steering wheels that have very nice materials and feel great. That u can also option for carbon fiber. Teslas don't feel like ur in a sports car or a luxury car. It's just blah. Yall talk about price and thats just it. Its a poor mans fast car 😂 u sacrifice looks,interior, and a unique dope engine experience.

I had my G30 for 5 years now. It would make sense to get a new car, but I'm repulsed by their current offerings. If BMW doesn't get their shit together, I'm afraid it will be the last one.
Hey Raz, I noticed no reviewer is talking about something that is really bothering me about the new 5 series. It has no leather stitching on the dashboard anywhere and no leather stitching on the center steering cap unlike the 7 series or even 3 series and 2 series Bmw. This makes the interior feel cheap in addition to the plastic door controls. Not really impressed, would love to hear your opinion about it !
I'd love to know if it's possible to turn off all that distracting dashboard stuff and the crazy noises being pumped out of the speakers. I don't really want to drive in an amusment arcade with an audio soundtrack. I'm more than happy with the windscreen and some quiet.

BMW still struggle with design…still hideous or boring and this attempt is strange in that it has new ideas at the back that don’t quite work, a boring side that looks years old and front that is a total mess. Over all though…it manages to look better than most similar three ton blocks. It is a car for widget salesmen and for PCP rich You Tubers…at £110,000+ for a mid spec everyday car, it is overpriced. You give a very warm review Raz…Im not convinced…..good but too flawed for me.😬😬☹️

I have owned a lot of cars in my life and The I5 M60 is the best car I’ve ever had. It’s not even close.

I don’t like the EQE tbh. EQS is nice but pricy/massive and I would rather have an i7 or an i5 M60 (though the i5 does have relatively poor range)

it's not an electric M5, more like an electric M550ix. The M5 is coming out next year and will have the drivetrain from the XM, V8 plug in hybrid.

The reverse light is from the mini coopers and the window control buttons are so cheap its a shame.
All of the fake sound effects are going to seem very silly in the future when looking back on this.

My Tesla Model 3 Performance does that in 3.1s and i am still waiting for Plaid version as it does not feel enough.

Thing is, teslas aren't a head turner like bmw and Mercedes. No one on the street or at a car meet would EVER double take or take a pic of a tesla. The model 3 and model y designs are not sleek at all they look like fat eggs and the head lights are ugly as shihh. They look like mall cop cars 😂
The model X looks like a mini van. The model s has a decent front end but the boxy rear and out dated tail lights ruin the enitre sleek design. All in all no head turning sound and they look dull and boring inside out. I hate EVs but atleast this gives u a sound if u want it. Taycan still looks the best and has the coolest sound tho 😂
Teslas dont look mean or aggresive at all. Thats what makes fast cars cool. They look like basic traffic 😂 and the interior is a single ipad with a steering wheel and plastic parts. BMW and merc offer carbon fiber all around and in the car,really good quality buttons that feel good to click, luxury or carbon bucket racing seats, HUD,and sporty steering wheels that have very nice materials and feel great. That u can also option for carbon fiber.
Teslas don't feel like ur in a sports car or a luxury car. It's just blah. Yall talk about price and thats just it. Its a poor mans fast car 😂 u sacrifice looks,interior, and a unique dope engine experience.
Ur pic is a gt3 so u know exactly what im talking about. U def never experinced a new gen one seeing u have an old and dirty one in ur videos. Thats the car u would get if u were rich though. U just want the plaid now cuz its actually achievable for ya. No rappers no athletes or celebrities drive a tesla cuh. They are bland and boring cars in everyway.

I had my G30 for 5 years now. It would make sense to get a new car, but I'm repulsed by their current offerings. If BMW doesn't get their shit together, I'm afraid it will be the last one.
I would be perfectly happy with that as a 2 car garage. BMW i5 M60 and an AMG Black Series. 😊

I noticed no reviewer is talking about something that is really bothering me about the new 5 series. It has no leather stitching on the dashboard anywhere and no leather stitching on the center steering cap unlike the 7 series or even 3 series and 2 series Bmw. This makes the interior feel cheap in addition to the plastic door controls. Not really impressed, would love to hear your opinion about it !

I would say that the vehicle needs really good brakes given the small and confusing country roads in England.

BMW still struggle with design…still hideous or boring and this attempt is strange in that it has new ideas at the back that don’t quite work, a boring side that looks years old and front that is a total mess. Over all though…it manages to look better than most similar three ton blocks. It is a car for widget salesmen and for PCP rich You Tubers…at £110,000+ for a mid spec everyday car, it is overpriced. You give a very warm review Raz…Im not convinced…..good but too flawed for me.😬😬☹️
