Rebecca, this dress is going to best your best yet....I am going to make a suggestion, and hope you don't think I am crazy, please think about doing this, that pleated detail is so beautiful on you, please think about doing that detail in a bodice for a modern day dress or jumper, if you did that bodice with the deep opening you could wear a blouse or t-shirt under it and it would be a wonderful jumper or just make a few different kind of "triangles" to insert. I just think this bodice detail is so flattering please try to incorporate it in a modern style you could wear to work or going about....I think it would make a wonder series. you taking some of your period dresses. like that wonderful red striped gown, and take the details like the bodice of the purple dress and a modern interpretation. isn't that what a lot of designers do? take "inspiration" from older eras and make something "new"? would be a great series....like you making adult size version of the american dolls.

I know your not used to but the silhouette is a full bosom. The woman in the painting didn't have much of a bosom. Just a suggestion of course. 💖

Thanks! I like the idea of taking inspiration, but I don't think a pleated front like this would work without corset-level structure underneath.
