    Oh my goodness I love the lace. When I saw it I immediately thought ice queen. Which probably supports your feelings of it looking like a costume

    I'm glad you decided to go without the lace -- it's beautiful, but I immediately thought of Historical Elsa.

    Loved the end footage with the dancing! Im so so glad to see Lion looking so well ❤️‍🩹 you must be so relieved to have him home again 🎉. I really like that bodice - its very classy! I don't think the skirt needed the lace trim (beautiful as it is!) because the colour of the silk is so rich and vibrant that its it own decoration. Still im looking forward to seeing the day-bodice and ruffle in the future 🫶

    I feel the need to mention how unbelievably funny I found seeing the bodice on the dress form with the roll of ribbon tucked into the front, like the silliest application of the "hiding something in your bust" trope ever!

    Wow. So very elegant! I really like the ruffle detail around the neckline. You looked like royalty in your tiara and beautiful purple dress. You haven’t said, but I hope there’s good news following Lion’s surgery. His little recovery dirt was too adorable as was Dora in her flower cone. I hope you had fun at the Victorian festival. Loved to see the dancing! Take care.

    How awesome that you actually finished early!! When you said the word "costume-y" I started nodding. Probably an off-white binding would have been better, but you might need the material for the day bodice, so why go there? Lol

  • @kylejolley

    Another beautiful dress. I get what you were trying to do with the lace, maybe if you tried to do like the neck line ruffle thing, maybe 2 rows of that at the bottom.

  • @MaryanneNZ

    Rebecca, the shoulder straps are playing up, not sure if you get to it but it's screaming lift at the shoulder and drop the armscye to get rid of that crumple xo

    I'm kind of torn about the trim on the bottom, the dress is pretty as is but I would rather see it all the way around if you do. So I'm going to have to vote for no trim. Love your blingy pink headband too! I call my headbands my crowns. lol

  • @Silverfoxx001

    I wonder if the original skirt had something spilled on it or a low section got damage ( an older skirt that was bought second hand a remade up) hence ruffle panel.

    • @Stitching_Sassenach
      @Stitching_Sassenach 5 месяцев назад

      I also think the skirt was a 1890's skirt that was remade to be more fashionable in the 1900's.

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  5 месяцев назад +1

      It's possible something was added to it, but because of the cutaway nature, I think it really was originally made with the ruffle.

  • @joandreyer2377
    @joandreyer2377 5 месяцев назад

    So h
    Glad you chose to not at the lace on the skirt. It is more 1890s without it. While it is pretty, it seems to be more like a Disney vibe with the sparkles.

  • @feed8647
    @feed8647 5 месяцев назад

    I have wondered about this since I first saw your bodice: Is there a fit issue with the shoulder straps or will the gaping and the weird folds at the armpit go away once the sleeves are properly set in?

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  5 месяцев назад +1

      They went away - I didn't have any issues with them.

    • @feed8647
      @feed8647 5 месяцев назад

      @@LadyRebeccaFashions Thank you for answering it! Historical fits look always a bit strange to me, since the armscye is so different. And seeing the fit on a finished garment is way different than seeing it finished (it looks really beautiful by the way!). Guess the phrase "trust the process" is true once more here.
