The expression "Manifest Destiny" goes back to 1845 when John O'Sullivan used it in articles promoting annexation of Texas and the ongoing boundary dispute. Gaby Freyre P.1

Although Manifest Destiny brought prosperity to America, it also brought suffering and losses to other people.
The native Americans were forced out of their land, the African Americans were treated as animals.

Well, I've learned form 7:16 that Sam Houston said: "I give up." despite the fact that he had actually won the battle. :-) More, I've learned that it was the first time the US was waging war outside its borders. I thought it was the war of 1812 :-). Correct me guys if Im wrong. Ive never been to the US before nor studied its history so I might be wrong.

And heads up, gold was discovered long before the American settlers reached California almost 50 years prior, and that’s only the written records, likely the Spanish and their native Allies had good knowledge and the natural resources of the lands long before either. A Mexican named Francisco (can’t remember the last name) found gold 50 years prior to the gold rush in a ravine while harvesting wild garlic.

Did not also a Roman Catholic Pope announce to the public, that the Catholic church was in full agreement with manifest destiny? Therefore, making it look like it was an order given from God himself ? Every time I discuss manifest destiny with a American Christian, they just get mad and tell me it's in the Bible, so it's God law. 😂 Mind you, these devout believers can never seem to point me to chapter, nor verse. 🤔 Call me purplexed to say the least. 🤪
