I always hold mine up to the window, trace around, and then use the ruler and craft knife to cut the straight lines and then finish the corners with my small scissors. Fast and easy. I have a light box, but too lazy to get it out and then put it back. Envelope, paper, pencil, window, trace, cut out. I will also lightly tape a bunch to the window and go for it. I have a sliding glass door in my craft room so it just made sense to me. Like we all say, use what you have. Barb Pacific NW.

Hi! You just popped up today & I’m so glad I watched this video! I really like the way you used the envelope window, it turned out so beautifully! You cracked me up with your ”nope, I didn’t do that!” “Or that!” I don’t have a channel but I bet I would make every single mistake known to crafters, including forgetting to turn on my camera!! I’ve never seen anyone put the lace on top of the window, as if it were a curtain! I absolutely love that idea! I used to live in Pullman, WA, but now live back in Kansas, where I grew up! Washington has got the most diverse landscape of just about anywhere, I do miss that! I have subscribed so I will be watching more videos! Thank you so much! Erica❤
Thanks so much, Erica, and welcome aboard! Oh my goodness, I have forgotten to turn my camera back on a time or two, lol! Well, nobody’s perfect and I think our fellow crafters tend to be very forgiving. Hi, there! I stumbled upon your very helpful video.🤩 I had to pause about 13mins in, just to give a helpful tip that I use for tracing. If I wait til the end, I'll forget.😂 In a pinch, whenever I've wanted to trace something I've drawn, or anything really, I scribble with the side of the pencil led & that becomes my "transfer" substance. Plus, it's erasable afterward.😉 In this instance that you demonstrate, just take a piece of copy paper & lightly scribble an area large enough for what you're tracing. Lay the pencil scribble face down onto where you need the traced marks to be. If I want to trace an image, I just scribble the pencil on the back, then trace through that way. Hope I made sense & that's it's helpful.💗 Lovely envelopes, btw.😍 I've always struggled with how to "measure out" those windows. Thx for the great tips!💗 Now, back to your video!😁💗
Hi! Thanks so much for the tip! Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I had the flu and was pretty sick for awhile. Thanks again, and also thanks so much for watching!! ~Kathy xo
Wow, how long has this been going on? I am amazed and delighted that I happened on to your tutorial. Love this so much...can't wait to get the mail and start a junk journal. Thanks for the inspiration.

This is genius! I have been saving envelopes for a long while but don't use them because covering them is so hard to make look nice. This make covering them so much easier and better! They look great! Thanks so much for the tutorial, will be ordering some carbon paper asap!
Thank you I didn’t have tracing paper for sewing or carbon paper. Your video sparked a memory of tracing script using pastels crayons. I just scribbled pastel and placed it facing down on back of the paper I wanted to cover the envelope. Then traced as you said with the bone tool. And voila I have a perfect mark to cut. Just have to be sure to use contrasting colors to see😊. Bonus is I don’t have to look for or purchase tracing paper of any sort because I have acquired plenty of pastel crayons. For now anyway. Thanks for the video

I love Victoria magazine as well! We have a used and deeply discounted bookstore in our main Library where I live. Love your ideas! Where is your favorite place to buy napkins?
Hi Veronica, thanks so much! I buy a lot of the napkins from Dollar Tree, but I’ve also found them at garage sales, estate sales, and kitchen shops. I try not to spend a lot of money on them, but I just can’t seem to stop collecting them, lol! Thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo

I’ve made several templates to cover different size windows, it’s more cost effective than trying to find and buy carbon paper.
Sure, that absolutely works too! 😊 I have lots of the transfer paper that I’ve had forever, so it makes sense to me to use it. Thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo

How great wood it be to put a photo instead of magazine (or other) image, tag or journal card you put in the pocket covers photo but then reveals it….OR journaling glued inside and photo on tag/card reveals that instead!
Great ideas, Rhonda!! I think you’re on to something! Thanks so much for watching! 😊 ~Kathy xo
