I had an issue where it got into phone lines when I was testing the RTH before I changed it to preset. Was anticipating it climbing straight up to the altitude I had set, the same I had done for all of my drones. Unknowingly it was set for optimal and it started moving forward while climbing and got into the lines. It didnt hurt anything but could have been much worse. Good tip.

I do fly mine all the time 7-8km away in my city . in my country we got 0 drone restrictions . We got small military airport (inactive) i like to fly there is nice to see their old equipment left there and its in middle of forest so a beauty .
Nice vid. I am loving the optimal return to home. I don`t think it is fast at all, but every time it comes home while staying somewhat close to the mountian (where i fly). If you are recording you can get some great footage while it is autoflying back to home, move the gimble a bit. Some of my favourite shots have come from this feature. Where i`d be too scared to fly it close to objects.
Think I might check out your cheat sheets as my memory is not great these days.

Regarding the possibility of a fan.
I fly my drones for real estate, so I mount a handle on my drone and carry it round the house taking video which matches the video taken flying around the outside of the house.
Also using the video camera for static photos and video for interview situations, has been very useful because the camera is soo good often better than some DSLR cameras.
So for my use I would likento see a fan incorporated for the purposes above
im trying to make a point for them to improve "update home point" - it needs a quick feature, instead of having to go into settings to update home point.
( maybe pushing home button on RC 3 times in row, updates it, or letting us assign it to a C1/C2 key.

Looking fwd to my ND filters arriving
Great videos and the cheat sheets are worth it too. If you’re using ND a filters are you still adjusting EV or are you leaving it at 0.0?
The point of ND filters is to use manual and go to 180 rule...you do not need any so called cheat sheets, only need Histogram ON.
Is a simple rule:
- 1/SS = 2 x FPS....so for 25 FPS you need SS to be 1/50 in order to have natural blur...Now, don't believe that if you have SS 1/3200 for example will be worst, because are many times when blur will not be OK and you need sharp image.
Also for VIDEO use ND:
- Sunset, night = no ND, only if you need light trails you can use ND16 or ND32.
- Cloudy day = ND 8 to max ND 16
- Normal day = ND 16 to ND 32
- Bright sunny day (mostly in summer) = ND 32 to ND64
For pictures is NOT NEEDED an ND as you have no motion....only if you need light trails or smooth water effect, you need to use in daytime high ND like ND 128 to ND 1000.
NEVER USE AUTO with ND, as ISO is increasing and you will get a lot of noise.

Anyone observe that currently, even with Mavic 3 Pro's recent update, it doesn't support the 3x camera (in settings) for Waypoints. Air 3 Waypoints, Global settings (Global Speed, RTH and such) right there we have 3x-9x camera selectable. Not present on Mavic 3 Pro same screen.
DJI drones are now divided I to categories according to the most common weight categories. So I think we will now see fully featured drones in each weight category. Instead of the most expensive drones getting the best features.

In your very 1st settings change I would leave it on "BRAKE" as "BYPASS" will cause a bit of nervousness in your normal flight. Go out and try both. Fly medium to fast and then off the controls. You will notice that when the Air 3 slows down, in BYPASS mode, it has quirky, jerkey, behavior. But it's much smoother in BRAKE mode.
My Air 2S is exactly the same. Don't know why that is, and Bypass woyld be really handy, but the drone flies way better when this is set to Brake. So that's what I have it set to.

I saw someone on youtube suggest this setting. Went out and flew using the bypass and brake. Was shocked at the difference. But I wonder if this could be fixed with a firmware update?
@@RobertMacCreadyI got mine last week too. I guess bypassing an obstacle and saving your drone is most important than a jerky recording towards a tree which you can edit out later.
is rth works with obstacle avoidance?

What level of competence did you pick when setting up your drone / remote in the beginning ?
You have to exit and turn on video as if you are going to record then open the settings

how are these settings significant to only the air3 drone? They can be applied to any of these dji ones if that is helpful.
I just subscribed. I enjoy the videos so it's the least I can do. Also I bought the air 3 and I have never flown a drone nor am I knowledgeable about the best photo/video setting and what each setting does and this video helped a lot. Do you have a video about what program you use to video edit and how you video edit your drone videos and pics?
I have a few videos on the mini 3 pro and how to edit photos and videos which is the same for any drone yes but I’ll also be doing more after the new year 😊

Good evening, Great videos, and I also liked and find very useful, the cheat sheets for the AIR 3. I am still getting familiar with my new drone, an upgrafe from the Mavic Air 2. I am using light cut to edit my drone videos and would like to know if when I record on D log or HLg and apply the filters available in Light cut, will this improve the color similarly to what may do in other more professional software. Thank you
I would encourage using better software for editing, resolve, Final Cut Pro etc are going to be much easier and better results

Dude gimbal is to fast? I quadrupled it's default speed. That depends if you are shooting video or photos.

Question for anyone here? What settings would i need to do night long exposure pictures with the air 3? I do them with my air 2s with a ND16 filter, ISO like 200, and shutter at 8 seconds. The air 3 shutter seems to only go to 2 seconds and the ND filter didnt really work the same. Any ideas on how to do long exposure night pictures with the air 3? What settings etc!
why they eliminated the function and you can't turn on the auxiliary light in Mavic 3, while r2sr3 can be switched
Even though I turned off the Obstacle avoidance.... it still try to avoid my hand whenever I try to reach from the bottom of the drone😢

It's a landing light mostly, it helps the drone's optical flow sensor a lot in low light situations. For actual night time flying, and to adhere to (FAA) rules, the white light should be visible to other (manned) aircraft, so a bottom facing one isn't going to suffice. For EASA territories (EU), a green light visible from the ground is what's required.
Get separare strobe LEDs and put on the drone for that purpose.
I have one question on the air 3 I am you new I just got my drone air 3. I seen a lot of videos. Air 2s. Air 3 another. It’s better to put it bypass. Obstacle. Instead of put it I seen a few videos that sometimes the other side sensors on the front sensors does detect well. My question is whether to put it bypass set a stop. Because I don’t want to crash it. I have a sensor doesn’t. Detect that will. ?
Break is good unless your moving around, I personally prefer bypass and it works well

I just bought an Air 3. If I may, two questions.
1 - If I set the Auto RTH Altitude, to say 300'. So lets say my Home spot is on top of a hill. Then, I fly off the hill to a valley, say 400' lower than my home spot. If now I tell the drone to RTH from the flying over the valley, will the drone climb to 300 + 400 or 700' above the valley level before traveling towards Home?
2 - Lets say I set the Max Altitude to 300'. And I take off from the same hill in question 1 above, and I go up, say to that max 300'. I then fly at that height above the top of the hill to over the valley. Now, the drone would be 700' above the valkey. Do I start getting messages about flying above the 300' Max Altitude?

Hello - wonder if i can manually turn on/off the Auxiliary light on the drone ...i checked the c1/2 buttons but dont find the option "auxiliary light" ?
its on the first page of settings you can turn off, on or auto

If you use bypass obstacles why for return home you want to climb to 120m? The drone should be avoiding all obstacles alone. You don’t trust it will? Have you tested it?
