A number of people who ordered the 4-series are reporting that the power front seats have been removed from their orders because of the ongoing chip shortage. So I don't think the omission of power seats in the tester here was an "accident" as reported by the BMW staff. No power seats at this price point is ridiculous.
They’re not going to discount a car over power seats when people are lined up to buy cars .. I’ve been looking for a decent lease since May. I will wait until next year for this ..
you're not paying for the power seats since they're not included. However, because supply is low and demand is high across the auto industry, a lot of dealers are asking markup
Grill didn’t bother me at all. Ordered an M440i in the Brooklyn Grey, shadow line that’s well equipped to use as my daily driver. I’ve seen a couple in person and I much preferred the front in person. To each his own. My money

I didn't realize that the ICE 4 Series Gran Coupe is the same sheet metal as the i4 until I saw that rear hatch opening shape. I think that actually makes the i4 M50 the fastest version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe (M50 0-60 of 3.7 sec vs M440i 0-60 of 4.4 sec) - though the i4 is not available in the US until Summer 2022.
Yeah, I think it looks great. It's a distinct look and the additional black additions throughout the car balance it out. You just have to get the extended shadow line trim.
Love Alex's review and his channel. I do wonder though, after watching so many, am I sitting in cars wrong? The whole, "I can/can't comfortably put my head back on the headrest" critique always strikes me as odd. Headrests are there as a safety measure, no? I mean, they serve as a good wedging device for a soft pillow or jacket on longer road trips, but I can't ever remember sitting in a car and using them as actual head rests.
The outgoing gran coupe is a really good looking automobile. I leased a 2015 and a 2018, 328i and 330i respectively. The new generation just doesn't have the same appeal to me.
1 reason BMW have been expanding for 6 decades, they don't live in the past, rest on laurels, rely on past customers & continue to grow on new customer conquest sales.
Apparently there are different rules for measuring trunk space if it is a sedan or a hatchback so that may be why the amount of trunk space is listed lower than actually possible with everything removed and adjusted.
I know you usually do reviews on a single product. However I would love to see a comparison between a M440I Gran Coupe and the New I4 50i. They are the same chassis and size. It would be interesting.
I think all sedans should move to lift backs. Trunks just make no sense at all and just about all sedans now have a roof line ending at the tru k area to make them look like a lift back.

The 4 series grill in person is really not as bad as people make it out to be, IMO. I wasn't a fan of it when the first renders and leaks dropped years ago before the car launched, but after seeing it on the road it's fine.
3:43 an "accident?" Yeah sorry I don't buy that. Maybe they let you use some sort of base test car but I doubt they made an "accident" putting the seats in that $60,000 car.
Will you get the BEV version in the USA? No regrets, if you don't. It is quite disappointing. Wait for the Mercedes EQE...or stick with the Polestar 2 ;-)

The grill in person isn't too too bad--- the only thing is if your state requires a front license plate, it pronounces the bucky beaver look.
