I'm glad to see so many of you appreciated this compilation! For those of you interested, I've posted a few Tom Misch guitar solo covers on my channel (and got more Misch covers coming up)! Check 'em out if you'd like 🙈
oh my god can my boy JAM! Thank you Spotify for recommending him to me a few years ago! Could you imagine a project with Tom Misch and Thundercat... OMG that would be out of sight! I think they would meld together lyrically, musically and vocally to create the greatest LP ever made! #FingersCrossed
Ive recently check out misch albums and in disappointed he doesn’t have more music like disco yes. He jams on a lot of up beat stuff that just sounds fire while his album stuff sounds..
Such a. Amazing musican really I'm happy I heard first time his song in the Radio and wow !! South of the River the solo and the ending like toots thilemans make me almost fly thx 😍😍😍
Tom Misch is the musician I always wanted John Mayer to be. No shade to JM I just wish his music better satisfied both sides of his fan base- the fan girls and the guitarists.
true that. The new work of John Mayer since 2017 has been 'meh'. I can't remember a single song from his latest album Sob Rock except for the track titled I Guess I Just Feel Like.
What exactly do you mean? JM is extremely Bleus influenced, this is more jazzy low beat things. JM is still soloing every concert. He sounds lil more interesting in my opinion. (Most of the time, also on acoustic). Ofc his music is also more leaning to singer song writer. And enough JM youtube clips for guitarist! Like them both.
can anyone tell me what modes/scales he uses??? i know its mostly based around pentatonic scales but he seems to transfer in between different modes aswell.
He seems to use the pentatonic shapes to navigate where he wants to go, but he also focuses on chord tones and key changes, as dictated by the jazz progressions. He also uses a lot of sidestepping with those quick semitone slides
Yeah agree with Devo, the only modal influence I hear here is a bit of Dorian which is minor with a raised 6th basically, but he navigates really well through changes with triads through his jazz progressions.
Been playing guitar for around 10 years, I'm not too bad either haha but my timing/lick library/neck awareness is nowhere near this dude. Leaving my ego at the door with this question, does anyone have any advice on where to start to sound like tom? Or at least get me heading in that direction?!

Loved them! You've earned yourself a subscriber.
Oh and if you don't mind, do more covers and make more of Tom Misch solo compilations!
Misch just archived his entire Instagram so this is huge 🙏🏻
Brandon Look Yeah I noticed that! So glad I've saved these!
He's sooooooo good! I wish his recorded stuff featured more of his lead playing.
Favorite guitarist of all time. Mans got SOUL
Beautiful, GOD BLESS Tom Misch from The USA to the UK Amen.

Mayer is full bluesy, meanwhile Misch is more like Jazzy/Neo Soul
Guys John meyer influenced tom it seems non of u know wat jm can do he sticks to his genre but if u give him any solo gents kkkkkkk ask isiah Sharkey
I think JM's stuff satisfies guitarists enough
🌎🍁💖🎼🎵🎶Harmonic sounds aye i am impressed By Tom Misch Music.. Rhythmic ...🎶🎵🎼💖🍁🌎

1:51 The lick has been located
@2:35 is a song that he just released for his new album ruclips.net/video/09lKvyqoprQ/видео.html
DOPE !! What’s the first song ?
Gracias por compartir estas delicias.
6:15 UUUH CHANNELING THAT SRV INTENSITY!
midnight chief ft jordan rakei:P, but the solo is kinda different, but same intensity
🔥🔥🔥
damn great job dude!!
@5:49 the anthem!
is this the kind of guitat he's playing considered jazz guitar? i would love to learn that playing style
Sonii Beatz It’s more like neo soul guitar. He mostly uses the pentatonic, but very affectively
Mostly blues style soloing on top of "jazzy" chords and progressions.
0:44 my fav 🔥
What program do you used to récord in the first song? 😀
anyone know what he is playing at 0:30? sounds so sick
Maaaan, does anyone know the video which is starting from 1:27 on?
song @ 1:27??? dope feels
Jay School sounds like almost a remix of south of the river
With a little of 'in the midst of it all' with Sam wills
Dope 👍🏽
Been playing guitar for around 10 years, I'm not too bad either haha but my timing/lick library/neck awareness is nowhere near this dude. Leaving my ego at the door with this question, does anyone have any advice on where to start to sound like tom? Or at least get me heading in that direction?!
Start transcribing his lead work and implement it into your own playing
solid thanks man!
Black hat beat- he's in the zone
what is the track he's playing to in the second clip?
Sweeeeeeeet
song at 6:04 anyone? Its buried somewhere in my disorganised playlist and i cant remember its name for the life of me
What scale does he often use? I hear some lydian for sure
Mostly pentatonic with blues notes. And for the modes i'll say that he uses more often the Dorian and Aeolian than Lydian, but I could be wrong.
What is the song of the 1:27 ???
I would like to know that too, is that unreleased?
Sounds like some alternate version of „South of the River“ to me. But That‘s just my first guess...
The man of the piano is Sam Wills
Mr Pussy Movie
Me & You - HONNE, Tom Misch
Who's song the very first song he is solo'ing on top of?
Reminder to myself: learn 6:05
키야 죽인다 진짜 넘 좋아
전민주 한국인ㅎㅇ
미쳤다
Song at 6:45? Greatly Appreciated 🙏

Eduardo Barreda John Mayer signature strat
