  • JetBoil MiniMo BIG Breakfast cookup.
    I cookup a big breakfast on the JetBoil MiniMo, with eggs, sausages, bacon, and some pan-fried bread all featuring in this morning meal.
    Going through the setup, assembly, lighting, and piezo ignition in this video, and then conclude with what I believe are the pros and cons of this cooking system.
    Thanks for joining me, please like/subscribe if you find this helpful.

    It's really exciting to see a Jetboil get a chance to do some actual cooking and not just dumping BTUs into water!
    Thank you for sharing this!

      Thanks. Yes, it cooks so good. I like how quick it heats up, and how evenly the heat is distributed through the pan.

    Thank you for making this video. It was really well thought out and delivered. I feel I must also mention your hat and what it represents; you stepped up when Australians needed you. Thank you for your service.

    Pro tip for packing/protecting the burner:
    Turn the pot/pan upside down and it will kinda fit over the underside of the burner, then take the canister support that sits in the lid, turn it upside down over the burner element, it fits perfectly flush in there and that way the piezo element is secured. It will fit in the pocket that came with the kit.
    This way you don't need extra materials to make a protector + you have some extra room in the pot, for me the extra room allowed me to put a bottle of cooking oil underneath my 230gr cannister.

    Great video Andy! I just ordered one of these stoves online and was looking for some inspiration other than just making hot water for the packaged meals🎉

      @@AndyTychon Looking forward to it. So how much cook time were you able to get from the 1lb fuel canister?

    • @AndyTychon
      @AndyTychon  3 года назад

      For the 230gram canister I’m seeing people get around 3.5 hours constant cook time. I use mine in short bursts so not sure of my total time per canister.
      It would also depend on how open you have the canister for cooking. I find it heats so well that I actually have to keep mine turned down so it doesn’t cook the food too quick and burn it.

    Is that the lowest setting for cooking? And do you have a decent temperature control on the jet boil, as I am wanting something like this for my UK backpacking trip in summer also is the pan included or separate, just that I like to eat actual food on my rides not just freeze dried meals..

    • @AndyTychon
      @AndyTychon  2 года назад +1

      The pan is definitely a seperate purchase to the stove, it’s not included. The temperature I cooked on this video was over halfway on the regulator, so it can be set to lower temperature, it’s adjusted by twisting the regulator. One thing to look out for, is that the Pot Stand is included (I’ve read some people have this already in their kit with the stove, others don’t and have to buy it separately, so double-check this before leaving the store). Good luck and safe travels.

    I was thinking of buying the genesis camp set but at 400 it's pricey. I already have the mini mo so I think I will just buy this pan set and a half gen for the days I want to cook for more people. With the half gen and this, I can cook for 6 people I would imagine.

      Thanks for commenting mate. In the coming weeks I will be doing a video using a large generic kitchen frypan on the JetBoil MiniMo to see how it copes with a “standard” frypan, and if it can transfer the heat adequately 😀

      You could get the LUNA SATELLITE BURNER to go with the Genesis as well if you want an additional hob

      @@AndyTychon True! Bacon isn't that bad either, but add bread with butter and you're in trouble! Liked the video even though you made me fat 👍
