To me Shelby Foote wrote the best books on the Civil War
Well done! New to the podcast and found you while searching for Shelby Foote interviews. I love your premise and look forward to listening to more of your videos!
Thank you - I'm taking a short break from books 2 & 3 but will be back at them later this year.
Thank you kindly for sharing Mr. Foote's work. He's a legendary American.
Your title is kinda misleading though bro, we just wanna hear the book.
This is awesome!!
The smaller stories are what really make the era come alive
“You guys got any ‘The War of Northern Aggression’ books?” Lol
Curious as to why you chose the 3 volume chunkers versus the Time Life 14 volumes where each book is a more manageable size?
I work at Landmark Booksellers in Franklin, TN. The owner suggests this book all the time and that is the main reason I chose it. We also have a lot of people come in an purchase the set.
@@BooksofTitans oh it is the same book, just spread over several volumes versus the three thicker ones.
@@theemptyatom It's the 3-book Foote series, but this episode is just covering the first book. I haven't made it to books 2 & 3 yet and may run out of time before the end of the year. I put them to the side to get to some other books first.
@@BooksofTitans I am probably related to the owners of that store Joel Ervin Tomlin Jr in particular, as he is related to the Glenn's.
@@BooksofTitans yes, I was just wondering what you chose to go with the 3 volumes versus the thinner hardback 14 volumes and you basically answered it. I suspect I was just not a consideration as you got the box set because that was what was available, which is a nice set. I was just curious that's all.
