I look at embouchures of all flute players including mine. It still very curious to me how some are crooked for lack of a better word and they can play that way. I mean you don't talk that way you don't breath or eat that way but put a flute mouthpiece to thier lips and their approach is so different.
I love the sound of the flute, but I've never been attracted to the awkward facial expressions people are forced to use to play the instrument nor the strange position of the arms. This weird embouchure business actually discouraged me from learning to play the flute. It's as though you had to play a cello holding the bow with your teeth. Playing a recorder seems so much more natural.
