This is me to a T right now!....I call it positive stress, this is the year its all finally coming together, 2 years of reinvesting everything, sharing tears of stress in my kitchen with my wife watching everything we have flow into a business. Its a different type of stress now and having the mental fortitude to get through it will keep you on the right path. I catch myself trying to take the advice of tony and live in a beautiful state any chance i get.
Me too. This may be what nobody talks about...the stress of managing a lot of money. Having it flow in/out at half a million a year is not unusual at the 5 year mark. It's a good stress, but stress nonetheless.
This is my favorite... I listened to it on repeat until it wasn't on Spotify anymore. Now I listen to it here. I've listened to it at least 500 times 😂
Hey Kieth. Thanks for the years you've given to helping our industry. My guys call you Kieth's callous. You have given me tips and motivation at the right times, and we are all better for it. We've missed you at the past couple GIE'S, but I would love for you to see how big of an influence you are on our business. We have moved away from residential, and are taking over the city of Knoxville one contract at a time. The sense of pride that comes from improving your community, and impacting lives on a bigger scale is sometimes overwhelming. Much appreciation! I wish you health, prosperity, and great relationships. You have earned everything that is coming.
Two weeks of rain. Yards are to wet to mowe. Then , your mower breaks down. Can't get parts. List goes on. You speak wisdom of experience. Live and learn. 🏴☠️
I own a asphalt paving company here in San Antonio I feel you all the way..It is a hot ass hell of a job especially when laying a parking lot when its 100 degrees in temperature outside..I'm stressed!!!
Thanks Keith, we met a few years ago at GIE, we talked for a few about how far I've come in the 1st year out. You were overwhelmed by how unstressed it seemed to be for me and I have to say it felt good coming from you. I owed it to you and hand full of other RUclipsrs that had helped me get started and the hours upon hours I spent absorbing everything I could from you guys it really, helped me In ways I never thought possible. But the truth was, looking back on my plate than and my plate 4 years later? Shit man, it's a whole different ball game.i really didn't know what I didn't know yet. I've reached points in my business that I'm not sure where to go to next, and also learned where I've wasted alot of time, energy, and money. None has been a total waste but the stress and anxiety is here. Been in a rut for awhile now and today's video was like you directed just for me. I appreciate the boost in confidence, the boost in morale, and at very least another perspective and reminder that I'm not the only one that needs to let down the wall of "I can fix it this" and start really contemplating on what's my time worth, and what needs to be in my wheels house, and just wants not. Sometimes your videos come out on the day I really needed to hear it and today was that day. Hope we see ya this year in Louisville. Good luck bro
DO NOT READ. Hey Keith, good video. I have a fairly successful landscape/ lawn service company but I'm now as big as I can handle without really delegating important roles such as bidding, quality assurance, time management, equipment purchases and analyzing pnl's. I'm sure I can find someone, they may already work for me, but people put the wrong employees in management spots everyday and run their business straight in the ground. We run 6 crews everyday and I'm now stuck. I dreamed about running three crews but overnight I went from 2-6. Great problems. Thanks man.
I just installed my first Drip Irrigation System in which is my first install job in my Landscape Business (Thanks to your motivational advice and mentor ship) but it was a hassle but the hustle will come and I believe with every once of my body that it will. THANK YOU KEITH KALFAS!!!!
Man I wish I could channel Eric’s energy to enjoy the chaos! My business is on track to do 2million gross revenue this year and I’m like “oh ok, I guess we are doing this now”😂
You are an absolute inspiration Kalfas! I have watched you for the last 5 years Brian too. The words you speak are truth. I started with a shitty puke green F150 that I bought with life insurance money my dad left me with a shitty trailer and a 1976 mower that I put a retaining wall in, in exchange for. You have kept me going and now I have 3 trucks (one is broke) that shitty trailer I started with, a pair of zero turns, a couple blowers and trimmers. I only buy new equiptment now. You are right about the just sliding the card. I dropped $6k on a brand new enclosed trailer and $4k on a brand new zero turn this spring. Cash flow is so good right now I am beimg forced to expand. After 5 years we now have over 50 clients. We are ever expanding. Its crazy! You rock dude! Rock them old man socks! You put in your time. Now you can wear whatever tf you want cause you got that bail money in stacks! Hahaha
@@EivinSukoi I am very thankful. My dads little piece that he left however small I grew it into what I have today. I feel like my dad helped me start my business. Makes me happy. Like I have something from him no one can take away. I started from nothing and have over 50 clients now. That is a huge accomplishment in 5 years of providing service and those are just the clients I service every week that doesn't even count the ones who call for one time service needs. :)
The learning or earning comment is helpful for me because business has been suffering since i’ve gone back to college and I have been beating myself up over it, but I suppose i’m putting unrealistic expectations on myself.
Ha Ha I m just sitting here laughing my ass off because you are hitting the nail right on the head!!!! 5 years into it Im finaly having something to show for it. Great stuff man.
So true. I couldn't figure out why the first few years I could NOT profit more than 32k year with me AND my wife. Then all of the sudden we just got it.
Best thing I ever did to reduce my stress was getting a full time job and doing my tree service on the side. Just weekends and sometimes in the afternoons. I only do the best jobs and I’m making wayyyy more money that I ever did full time. Less stress less clients more money. Worked for me might worked for you guys too
