  • In this video, I'm checking on the weaned calves and making sure everyone is accounted for. However, I quickly discover that one of the steers is missing after jumping the gate! Follow along as I track down the missing steer and see how the rest of the calves react to their first morning feeding from the solar-powered automatic feeder. Watch the calves adjust to this new feeding routine and see what surprises the ranch has in store.

      I hope so. Ms. Future Focus seems to settle down a little bit. BUT she still walks away. Can't wait to see how she behaves when her calf is born.

      This was actually my first video, and now I’m kinda binging! My grandparents had cattle and they passed when I was very young. So now RUclips is my way of getting that feel that I had back then. When I saw this vid, you sound like him (a lot younger him) lol! But I haven’t been around an as an adult…. keep em coming bro

    Hey love your channel and the information you provide to your viewers i heard you say 3 things and I know what 2 of them is cow and bull but what is a steer?

    • @PrideRanch
      @PrideRanch  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for asking! A steer is a bull that has been castrated.

    So, is it just this one you are gonna get rid of the first time it got out? I know like children it is easy to mimic behavior or just be curious. Is it possible the mom went down to theweaning area and help the steer to get out or even show it how to get out? I know you don't need the others learning a bad habit but, maybe just bring the steer back to at least see how it got out. I hope I am not suggesting something and then I hear you at the end say the same thing. Thank you for always responding.

      I didn't think of those possibilities. I just didn't see where my fence was damaged. And the gate can't be opened by the steer or the cow. So I'm making a logical conclusion that it jumped. IF I had more time to spare, I would give it a second chance. I did this 3 times last season with one of my heifer calves. lol.lol.lol. BUT this steer is too hyper for me to work with.

      You are welcome!! At this point I feel like I need another 300 to 1000 acres. This way when I wean a set of calves I take them far away from their mom.
