If you want to calculate NDVI then pick sentinel 2 instead. It's also free but it got better spatial resolution (10 m) compared to landsat 8. Anyway, neat little video.
Your tutorials are very neat and easy to understand and follow through. I am a marine biologist and new to GIS, remote sensing and spatial analysis. I see most of your videos are taking land-based examples into consideration, would it be possible for you to include a couple of examples that would show include marine/sea related examples such as showing healthy/unhealthy coral reef areas or seagrass meadows using suitable methods? Thank you and your whole team. Please keep such videos coming.
thanks for the tutorial, i have a question that can we calculate the area of water bodies from this map suppose I want to do a comparison of area of water bodies between 2000 and 2020.
I appreciate this information. In other videos you began first by applying radiometric corrections and calculating surface reflectance. Is it necessary to do these preprocessings before calculating the NDVI? Thank you.
Hi, I want to set up a database of NDVI values over a specific period for crops. The areas are thus very small. I am not sure how to go about this. Is there a way you can assist on that?
I followed exactly the same steps, but tried to run it on arcgis (arcmap), but unfortunately it shows me the ndvi from 0-1. which is clearly not correct. can you tell me what am i messing up?
Good Presentation. Learning a lot. How do you cater for non-vegetation land cover like built-up areas? From the NDVI layer that was produced and with the pseudocoloring given, it is easy to incorrectly interpret all light areas as unhealthy vegetation.
Thank you the entire GEODELTA team, pls I do I use vertices to join points. I don't mean points to line. Points to line will only join for example A to B or C to D. but incase of vertices is connecting more than one points. E.g. A is connecting D and E in case of geodetic network. Using arcgis Thanks
Your formula is true for the Landsat 7 bands. However, for the Landsat 8, they have an additional band as number 1. So band 4 in Landsat 7 is like band 5 in Landsat 8.
sure, check out "zonal statistics". you can type it in the little search box in the corner down left. Then a dialog will come up asking you what raster you wanna calculate statistics from. And if you want to calculate the statistics of a particular area, you have to draw a polygon of that area beforehand
You are welcome. Your previous question on NDVI is what made me realize that I haven't done a tutorial on NDVI, so here you go. Thanks for your inputs.

Thanks for your comment :)
Similarly, if you're in the US, there's NAIP free 4 band imagery which is 1m I believe

OMG i need to see this for the Factor C, of RUSLE equation, by the way, can you do re RULSE method in QGIS?

Thanks, why we have to changes the numbers on the classification?

Theorical, you could can do that
when band 4 and 5 are dragged and dropped, am unable to see the map on screen, kindly let me know the reason
is there any need for atmospheric correction before calculation NDVI in QGIS? Landsat level-1 is not atmospherically corrected data?
super!! Keep them coming please.
Will do :)
i dont get -1 +1 when i do the ndvi why is that
How to calculate the area of each class?
The voice behind the camera👌 thankyou sir much needed

Hi, is there a process for accuracy assessment of NDVI?

It is not showing the coordinates of NDVI while making the layout😢😢
Please suggest a video to use NDVI raster for LULC classification of Landsat 4-5?
Many thanks

Unable to download the Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 Product Bundle !!!
Hello, how do I get the area of a specific NDVI range like area difference between vegetation and non-vegetated areas? Thank you!
Please make a video how to calculate above ground biomass from NDVI data.
straight forward after going through thousands of videos in google search engine
how to calculate NDVI from landsat collection 2 level 2 data?
How to find out area of this Low and High NDVI area
Very clear and detailed.thank you very much

you used (5 -4)/(5+4), why? I thought it should be (4-3)/ (4+3) for the NDVI value

Can you make a tutorial on indices based built up index??
Hi. Thank you for this very clear tutorial. Is there a way to produce statistics based on the classification output?

Correct! :)
@@arnaudlrc Thanks!
@@geodeltalabs Thanks!
How do you make the boundary.kml file ? I'm blocked to this step
You can just create one by yourself using the 'add polygon' tool of Google Earth Pro
You made it so easy! Thank you for this!
Thank you ❤️
Awsome
Thanks
Beautiful
Thanks
Elegant tutorials..really nice
Thanks a lot 😊
Thank You My teacher🙂. Really well. Actually, your tutorials improve the GIS knowledge. Stay safe & God bless you sir🙂🙂
You are welcome. Your previous question on NDVI is what made me realize that I haven't done a tutorial on NDVI, so here you go. Thanks for your inputs.
Glad to hear this 🙂
thank you very much
You are welcome
do for us metashape
could you elaborate a bit more? :)
Thank you so much.
You are welcome
Muchas gracias Crack
