Great info Alan!👍👍 You mentioned the “friendly rivalry” among firefighters & LE... reminded me of when I was a LEO & my Uncle was a FFighter; we worked out of the same municipal building. We played many practical jokes on each other but the best was when we had our town’s annual parade (the largest in the State). Well the basement-savers were out back polishing their trucks (as usual) when I drove up & asked them to please wash my cruiser as I was put in the parade last minute. Well they did... sorta 😂... it wasn’t until about halfway thru the parade (for all the world to see) that it was pointed out to me that they only washed HALF the car!... the driver’s side! On the passenger side, they not only didn’t wash it, but also caked mud onto it & wrote “wash me” in the dirt! Up until that time, I wondered why parade spectators appeared to be laughing at me!! Sorry if I bored y’all but this story was too funny not to share! 🤣😂🤣 ~ L
Cheers for the Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you considered - finding government seized and surplus property (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for #keyword1# minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate at very last got cool results with it.
Very true, but some places have it handled by the fleet department and at minimum, fleet usually ends up arranging transportation to move the vehicles to their final stop. At probably 80% of the fleet departments I've talked to in Florida, they usually know where the vehicles are taken after decommissioning, but you are right, some places this is 100% handled by the finance dept, and the fleet dept will usually be able to tell you that.
Another piece of advice when looking at purchasing a surplus LE vehicle is to look into that particular agency’s maintenance schedules. Try to befriend or get an “in” with someone in Fleet Management to find out this info. Some agencies adhere to a strict schedule (MSP) where officers aren’t allowed to operate their vehicle until the maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc) is performed while others are a little more lax (just bring it in when you get a chance.. well that “chance” often times never comes). Most officers don’t want to sit around the office or shop waiting hours for their cruiser to get serviced; they’d rather be out & about.
Hey Alan, also the sticker you have, is the honour in blue, that's for police, you can get the honour in red for fire which you could put on your Crown Vic, just an idea if you're still not sure,
Oh and Allen, I didn't notice whether there is a long black Box that was connected to those LED lights that were and the back of your Malibu,..... if there isn't you actually have to be careful how much voltage you put to those LED's or you might cook one! don't ask me how I know🤐
I bet that would be fun to check out! I always like looking at the random stuff that ends up for sale. One time I found runway lights from an airport up for auction, apparently aircraft fans collect those.
@@TheCopCar Yeah me and a friend almost bought an ambulance on there. You can get school buses and agriculture equipment and a lot of other stuff the government would sell. I bought my Vic and some of the stuff in it on there. Another friend of mine bought a huge generator.
Yea it Should go on the Impala since it's a was sqaud but that's exactly how it is in the army & Marines cuz the army thought they was better then us I was like let's take it to the field and shoot a target from 3k feet away lol
Don't ever buy an X military police vehicle, I was an MP, all shifts use the same vehicle and everyone abuses them, they do burn outs and all kind of crazy stuff. Stay away from those.
As an Impala nut, I vote the sticker goes on the "Galloping Gazelle"! I seriously want to fly down to Florida (or anywhere down South that doesn't use salt on the roads in the winter) and find an old Impala squad like yours. This video is going in the "Favorites" list!! For those who live in the upper midwest, there's an online auction site that sells all kinds of surplus stuff, and is free to register: www.k-bid.com

That is awesome! Great story! It definitely highlights the rivalry!

Online auctions at govdeals.com and publicsurplus.com auctions at these 2 sites could be just about anywhere in the country so check often.
Very good points! Thanks!
I’m here in Florida and have worked at both a county and a city and all surplus sales are handled by the finance departments.

I've seen thin red line flag decals. You need one of those for the Vic.
Valen Greymoon You can get that at dollar tree.
A thin red line decal would definitely look good on the Vic.

That's a good point, I've heard about that. Never really dug too deep into it, but I probably should if I buy another at some point.
Respectfully it should go on the expolice cruiser "THE IMPALA "
You are the man! Many thanks!
Hey Alan, also the sticker you have, is the honour in blue, that's for police, you can get the honour in red for fire which you could put on your Crown Vic, just an idea if you're still not sure,
If I end up with a red one, it'll definitely go on the Vic, until then, my problem just got solved in the newest video.
As much as I'd like to see it on the crown Vic, I think the impala would be a better place for it
Thanks, you brought up a great point!

I'd have to look again, I already forgot. LOL - since I found out they are blue, I will probably never mess with them again.
it should go on the impala because it is an old PD Car. Thanks for the Good information on the auctions 🐬🐬🚓🚒
Thanks!
purplewave.com if you are in the midwest. Theres more than just police stuff on there. Theres all kinds of cool crap.

I would like to see it on the Vic but I would say it should go on the real police car. But you own them so at the end of the day do what you wanna do.
Thanks for the feedback!

@@living4christ - I'll just say... I agree with you 100%.
@@living4christ so true bro I use see it all the time when I was in the Marines and we did the same shit
Put the blue one on the Impala and get a red one for the Crown Vic problem solved
I like your thinking!
@@TheCopCar you have a beautiful car you should put the lights in it so you can use the beautiful car to its full potential.
Good info on the auctions, Alan. And on the sticker, of course the right answer is that you need TWO, one for each car! -Chris
You are soooo right, just wait until you see how this sorted itself out in the next video.
If your not current or former law enforcement don't put it on. It's like your saying your a cop.

I love the "Galloping Gazelle" name! Mine came from Putnam County, FL - they sell them probably once or twice a year on govdeals.com
