The point is that: if everything is country music, nothing is. Country music is about storytelling, beautiful vocal harmonies, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, sliding steel, banjo, guitar, and light percussion. (Aka not manufactured/ computerized sound) When anything that talks about trucks, dirt roads, or beer becomes country music, it IS terribly sad.

And David Alan Coe felt obliged to add the last verse to the song and it goes like this... Well I was drunk, the day my maw got outta prison and I went to pick her up in the rainnnnn but before I could get to the station in my pickup truck... she got ran over by a damned ole train!

I was a freshman in high school and all the older people were saying the same thing about 90's country compared to what we call classic country today. Don't get me wrong, I love me some 90's country, but nothing can touch the classics

I've always wondered his thoughts (especially being from Texas) on the Texas Playboys and "once you're down in Texas Bob Wills is still the king".
