loved this. I’ll bet Mat was glued to it as well.
Every step of the way. I can here it now. There’s the phone “can I borrow……”
Was going to say they should do a collar with May, maybe help with the oil pump
I got some new tools in a few Christmas crackers this year so whos laughing now! ... Also im going to need that photo you took of the knock sensors 😂
Straight away I thought of you when watching 👀 this 😂🙈 ..... you my friend are my inspiration i take my hat off to you with your efforts an achievements amazing 👏 well done matt..... watched you since audi TT
I pretty much did this as a how to guide for yours Mat! 😂😂😂
@@REPerformanceUK well you uploaded this too late! Thanks Ricky kids crying now
@@MatArmstrongbmx you have a good guide for the next one now! 😂

In my opinion these guys here at RE P show a lot more into the actual workings and rectification of the engine as opposed to the 'here's the one we made earlier' approach of Iain Tyrrell's garage. Both a joy to watch but RE P have the edge (see what I did there) for me !
Another great video from Rick, nearly a hour video that seemed like 20mins. Detail you give is putstanding and great to watch. Looking forward to part two. 👍 Thank you .
Great work guys. With the motor out you will want to replace the bearings on the shaft that goes back to the diff. Also upgrade that rubber coolant hose that comes off of both heads. I have videos on my page that explain both. It's a nothing expense that will save your customer a ton of grief and expense when the engine is in the car.
Brings back memories, working on these engines and cars, its amazing that that engine was based on something that was designed in the 60's, 350, Espada, Countach Diablo, like you say a work of art, certainly taught Mr. Ferrari a lesson after his comments about a farmer knowing nothing about engineering. Great Vlog, thank you regards john
I love watching this guy work his magic , I’d have nothing but confidence in his ability ,how you remember all the procedures is amazing , you must be swamped with work , more please 👍
Great to watch, while all the other U tubers are reviewing the latest electric car, this is a great antidote 🙂🙂
guys that was 57 minutes of black magic and trickery i had to watch right to the end your patience and dedication was on point i can see why you are the go to shop great vid cheers from down under
Thank you for the lovely words!
I know this is an older episode but I'm still on catch up as a more recent subscriber to your channel,I know you have a lot subscribers who like the questions and answers but if I'm honest seeing you and your guys working on the cars and engines is my main reason for subscribing.really enjoyed this episode and pleasantly surprised at your incredible knowledge.
Im loving the fact that there is not a battery or air tool in site. Can get a proper feel for how the engine was built by anyone who has been there previously.
Plua, I love how you dont skip a single detail in any of your videos
That’s how we roll sir!! 😂
Liked and Sub'd !! This caught my eye after watching Mat Armstrong's V12 rebuild. Love the level of detail you go into!
Thank you glad you like it! We do alot with Mat!
Taking the heads off a Murcielago V12, I found myself on the edge of my seat, Great work, keep it going
Thank you glad you enjoyed it!
Cracking video, what you don’t know Ricky ain’t worth knowing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Ricky, I really enjoyed you working on the Murcielago V12. I finished my apprenticeship where I was working in 1984. I suppose you were just being born then, sh** I feel old mate.😜🤣😉 Keep the video's coming to see if I can try and keep up with you. (I doubt it!!)😉
Another interesting channel and great to watch hope it’s grows into a monster for you best of luck 👌
Fascinating Ricky. Not bad news for the owner. I say be confident, really good without the music. Editing out the duplicates such as the other head (unless there’s a revelation) is really good for me. If it was my engine, straight to you every time. Brilliant, thank you.
I enjoyed watching this video (and part 2) very much. Huge thanks to you for sharing secrets about this marvelous engine I am fan of. Every bit of the Lamborghini V12 cars are mesmerizing.
Thank you very much! Glad you are enjoying the content.
Really enjoy watching you work on these exotic engines Ricky! you make it so interesting , Thankyou!
Another reason for head gasket issues, based on my experience, is failure to change the coolant at stipulated intervals, the anti corrosion inhibitors become depleted causing problems such as this.
So much on these Engines do you ever have anything left over at re-build loved it, and you look proper busy cheers Rikki. You have so much know how for a 20yr old m8, and your enthusiasm is up there.
I thought he was only 14? 🤔
Haha are you trying to butter him up? If he was picking a favourite comment you’d win 😂 20years+++ 🤪
Not exactly an Audi V12, but the Type D Auto Union of 1938-39 had four rings on the nose and a 3L supercharged V12.
Excellent video as always Ricky. I love the content…. The wife loves how tidy your workshop is! 👊🏽
Thanks so much!!
Great content and information 👍I will never be stripping down a lambo engine but found it so interesting
I’m happy you enjoyed it!
I've been planning on building a v 12 using motorcycle engine parts. You know, cuz it wouldn't be a fun project if it wasn't challenging... After watching this I'm reconsidering. That looks like a pain in the ass! Insanely overcomplicated for the sake of being overcomplicated. But wow, you are an artist taking that beast down like a pro! Good job.
Eh, I'm still going to build my motor... I'll try anyway.
Cheers for the video! It was a hoot!
Absolutely spot on 😊
I love this stuff, REP are best engine blokes on you tube brilliant 👍
Thanks 👍
Great stuff as always.
With the heads off do you check that all valves are sealing properly and if not do a quick re-lap. Also with the valves, do you replace valve stem seals just because you're there and you can.
Head Gasket - are you replacing like for like or do you have the option of multi-layer???
What other main serviceable items do you do in V12 Lambo with the engine out, Clutch & Flywheel, Water Pump, Pulleys & Belts. Maybe not all being done by you guys but Lambo themselves.
Do you find it ok using the blue rag on engines? We’ve always been told to use the lint free stuff on engines
It's a strip down so doesn't matter at this point. But yes on rebuild lint free.
Great video guys
Loved the detail
Didn’t see you use the truck spanner 🔧
See you working on those new Lambos in a few year time 😀👍🏽
Yeah it’s a big old spanner!
Missed an opportunity, shine a little light on me at the end 🤣 great vid, pure asmr
So interesting. My last engine rebuild was a Dolomite Sprint in 1980, 16v, 8 lobes!
How about a video of you commenting on Mat Armstrong's Lamborghini V12 build.
Enjoyed that, these older v12’s sound amazing too. Agree they look like art rather than the new Lego Technic looking engines on newer stuff. I hope to move away from front to mid engine on my project in future and get an older V10 or V12 for the sound!
Auto Union did a petrol V12 way back in the day, only thing close these days is the W12 in the A8.
Great vid guys, thanks for sharing 👍👌😎
Awesome video again pal 👍
Ricky why do those guide rail pins look like they had some caliper sliders they need a use for 😂😂
Excellent video, very informative. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Matt why do you the use the adjustable spanner "back to front"?
Karl keep it real think positive dude!
Great to see a V12 in your care
Thank you!
Like the metric Crescent wrench
Thank you
Great video. Where did you get the socket T bar? It's a handy tool.
Yeah I love that tool. It’s a snap on turbo spinner!
I like the videos but think it would be better in smaller segments
Speed Six and AJP8 - Do you guys work on these engines?
Would love to see you strip and rebuild either of these engines as the isn’t a lot of info out there on them.
No never done TVR engines but if someone wanted one doing I wouldn’t say no! It’s just there are well respected specialists out there already for those.
Great vid Ricky thanks
matt armstrong is building a v12 murci in the uk he can get some great tips from you!
Yeah we know Mat well!
Your test for a warped head ain't good you should use a level check flat gauge that is the full length of the head .measuring the diagonal corner to corner. Also the head and block require deglazing wet and dry flat manual.
Is there an aftermarket upgraded gasket available instead of the weak stock one?
Love it ❤
Great vid, love a bit of innuendo bingo in your vids 👍🤣
😁
Great vid - thanks.
Another good tech video!
Glad you liked it!
Love this 👌
Very clever guy
I am so jealous, I had to get a bachelor's degree because I can't do shit and drop the spanner every 2 turns. But wow I wish I worked in such a OCD-friendly and clean workshop on engine like that. That floor honestly looks like you could eat of it.
Auto Union had v12's in their racecars - does that count?
Another way is engineers blue and a surface table!
Been watching Mat Armstrong Lambo engine strip down too, he is working through it but thought he could do with a but of your knowledge at time to help, may be a collaborative video?? And also ramp up subscribers??
Yeah we have been helping him.
Poor Karl - another v ax injury?
Have you been in touch with Mat Armstrong to see how he's getting on?
Yeah me and Mat chat often!! 👍🏼
Was gonna say,u doing Mats engine now?Lol 🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣💪👍
No mate this is a different one!
An adjustable spanner should used one way, not that way :)
That is my only helpful comment 😀
Wished you guys rebuilt Subaru engines!
I'm guessing there huge repair bills, do you have much drama in getting paid ?
Pretty standard you just keep the gear no. Don't do work above the value of the car without pre-payment. The rest is no pay, no car.
Did Driftworks get their hands on it? 🤔
🤣 w stood for wank 🤣🤣 pure class right off the cuff no hesitation - never truer words spoken
😂😂😂😂
Credit to Audi, they *did* have V16 engines back when they were called Auto Union ;)
How can people know so much at a young age, especially on cars of that pedigree, I would trust them with my peugeot 👍
Good Mechanic avoids using Leavers and uses a Rubber Hammer just like me , ps i love working on 1979 SUZUKI GS1000S or Z 1000 motors 😊
Where’s the end of the rs3 vid ?
Waiting on parts then we will rebuild!
Do matt a solid and make a video on the oil pump😂
Ha ha ha I think he has sorted it!
*Mat*
A little tikes tool set 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol 😂
Is it mats lambo
Not this one no!
Hydraulic tappets with a shim haha what is going on
Bril;liant! This is like meditstion.,and love Lambo's - Thank you :)
Glad you like it!
Hi guys really great to see you stripping that beautiful lump. I'm Bob Rose I've retired from cosworth in Northampton after 13 years. Great channel I will be keeping upto date with what your doing . Kind Regards Bob Rose Northampton.
Thanks so much Bob!
20:10 They are hiding the engineering of the the engine so that everyone gets used to not seeing one.
it looks expensive already
There all going….. sounds like Fred Dibner……..
Can't see Ricky doing this work on 25 pints of Guiness
12 times 2,was it that hard? Dudez
Well that’s wrong as it’s a 4 valve engine 😂😂 it was also a joke!! 👍
what is the engine code ? put it in the titlt, you will get more hits
No one knows what the engine codes are on lambos so no point…..I know but I’m a geek! 😂
@@REPerformanceUK remember American views pay you double vs a UK viewer, every little helps
@@AffordablePC1 that’s the dream lol
Was it because of the cost that Lamborghini didn’t do the work but recommended yourselves?
the dealers probably don't have this level of skill or knowledge doing a job like this. i imagine they out source all specialist work. costs are probably the same.
They probably watch these as ‘how to videos’
@@belly450 you are probably right, but the Dealers SHOULD fucking KNOW how to do it and have the technicians trained in all of Lamborghini's vehicles to proper standards. Lamborghini should make sure they do have the skills required or loose the dealership.
@@samrodian919 that's what I'm thinking. I know damn well those dealerships won't even look at someone that isn't a joruneyman with all their certs. Makes no sense why they wouldn't be the only ones touching the vehicles...
Hope he gets well soon. Heart issues In the young is sounding all too common lately its definitely the dodgy 💉💉💉
You don't need a mechanic to remove a Lambo head, you need a gynecologist.
Ha ha very true!
Sorry guys Mat Armstrong beat you to it........he doesn't have the garage facilities.
Not trying to keep up with Mat, we work with him a lot. I built his Gallardo!
🤣🤣shut downed
I came for the bike porn but stayed anyway, great video, as always.
Top fingering technique
freaks me he has so many part stripped engines arround. not good
Why? A workshop that rebuilds engines is no good if they have to do one at a time! 😂
Absolutely mesmerising watching you strip that block mate but I can’t help but wonder… is that lovely little purple snap on box behind you a 29” deep KRL?
this v12 is the last of its kind, the emotion enginesthis engine tells you when he wants to hi rev and when to care for him at mostdon' believe meyou just need to open your heart and listen to this v12 hear our prayersawe garagemech
Let’s hope Karl didn’t have the jibby jab, I hope not, get well soon bro….
He is on the mend thanks!
U must have more money than u can count 😁
Have you seen this @MatArmstrongbmx ? :)
Great content. Fascinating. Thanks for posting.
Our pleasure!
