Our old sailing boat gets a new lease of life with an all new rigging installation, both the standing rigging and running rigging, although as seems to be the case with old sail boats, there ended up being a fair amount more that needed to be fixed, replaced or refurbished.
In this weeks sailing Cadoha episode we will introduce you to the guys who have been tasked with making our sailing yacht as sea worthy as she can be, in order to keep her rookie sailing crew (us) safe and sound when things get windy.
The people who helped us tackle this fairly big project are a company called www.rigituk.com

There is nothing so sad and displacing as a yacht without a mast and rigging. Well done on a successful re-masting and that furler, wow , seriously beautiful kit!!
We weren't intending to change the furling system originally, but it was getting harder and harder to furl in and when Pav took it off, he noticed half the bearings were missing and it was just in bad shape. At 35yrs old it had a good innings, so we decided that for what we want to do, it was worth me working for just a few weeks longer to splash out for a new one 🤞😂⛵️
Couldn't stop smiling at "Pav" and your joy at the whole process. Really lovely to watch your progress and can't wait for you to set off. Your channel is going to be awsome.

Hey there. Yes it feels good to have the boat back together, although we have now got to fit some genoa tracks to the boat, as we don't have any if you can believe that?! 😳
You guys are so close to sailing off into the world for adventures and happy memories 😃 I have also purchased a fine vessel except that mine only works in the bath 😆👍

Yes, we're closer to heading off now, just this pesky pandemic, but we've got some pretty cool plans for the rest of the year now, regardless 😁⛵️🙏🏻

It takes a special talent to make a 5 minute trip, in a mastless sailboat, from a dock to a mast crane, sound like a Vangelis arrangement à la Chariots of Fire! But all jokes aside, love your montages.

That carbon fibre mast was pretty, although I'm not sure it'd look right on Cadoha, so it doesn't matter that we're too poor to buy one 😂

Warrior is a fantastic sea boat with lovely lines. Was one of my two options for distance cruising but landed up with my Saltram Saga. Enjoy your channel.

As far as the hair cut goes, well that's become a slight bone of contention to say the least 😂
Long story short, the barbers opened back up before we hit 10k subs, so I was safe from carly scissor hands, although I'm getting a lot of people saying I look like Tormund from game of thrones, and the geek in me thinks it's a strong look 😬😂

Its so much nicer with a mast. Just refitted mine this weekend after it being off for 8 months. Slightly different approach with mine as I had 5 blokes lifting it whilst I ran around attaching all the hardware.... Are you traveling this year or waiting for next year now?
That's about the amount of time we've been out of commission too 😞
It looks like the plan now is to get some much needed experience sailing on our own and going deeper into the West Country and seeing how Covid plays itself out?

Yes some much needed experience needed here also. 18 months to 2 years and I shall be away from here hopefully. realistically my Jazzi Girl wont be finished until next year due to an engine issue. I am 90% ready to just replace the 40 year old Buhk lump. Parts are too rare and too expensive to warrant keeping it!
Guys, Not too bad at all at the moment, there is plenty of room, we are currently just on the south side of Bryher, you should see us on AIS (Talavera) have a look at out daily blog to see where we have been in the last week (sailingwiththeshipscat.travel.blog/author/talaverasailingadventures/) we are having a great time. The weather for the next few days looks great to get here, we left Gosport last Saturday and 229nm and 42 hours later we arrived. Give us a shout if you get here, we will be here for at least a few weeks yet. Tim, Row and Artie the Ship’s Cat 🐈
Well the plan is to head down back along the West Country and take in some fine British scenery again, whilst both gaining some much needed experience on our own and seeing how the dust settles on Covid?! 🙏🏻🤞🏼

:45 It turned out to be a lot more than expected. Sadly, that is a requirement of almost every boat job! If you think it will be two days and a thousand (dollars, pounds euros, whatever), double the money and triple the time! Or more!

OK That was interesting but I have no idea what was done to your mast, or why or how much etc.
Another thing that I'm clueless about is Carly. I just can't work her out. She's an intelligent, gorgeous goddess of a woman. What on earth does she see in you Dom? Why didn't she realise that I was in the world, track me down and carry me off instead of setting off around the world with a middle English accented celt ? OK I'm 65 and there'd have been a slight age disparity...but I could have lived with that.
