Finally the day has come when we manage to make our first sailing trip in 2020. What a bonkers time we've had since October 2019 when we were just taking our sail boat out of the water for 'a couple of weeks' for some standard maintenance work.
For anyone interested in the most real time and up to date moments of our humble little adventure then don't forget that Carly has created an amazing Instagram page here: www.instagram....
I love watching you guys, especially Hank!
I'm so proud for Y'all. Thanks for taking me along. Stay safe
No, Rich, thanks for coming along with us 😁⛵️🍻
Hank was relaxed because you guys were relaxed, you guys got this. Great to see another vid from you three, NEED MORE !
There are certainly more to come after the week we've just had, all of which have made me so much prouder of Hank, he's really taken to things so well.
Congratulations on a great start to your 2020 sailing season! That boat will easily take you across the Atlantic when you're ready - can't wait!
Fingers crossed, Chez, all I need to do now is convince Carly it's time 😂😂⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
Good stuff. We really enjoyed this episode. You all look very happy to be out on the water again, especially Hank.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes Carly and I are both so happy with how Hank has been handling sailing. He's calmer and more chilled than us most of the time! 😁😁
I still say that’s a great go anywhere boat you have under you. Always have a passage plan! Congrats on your first alone trip. Stay safe!
Thanks, Richard, yes we're sure the boat is likely tougher than us, which is probably for the best, ha ha 😂
So very well done! I can see your excitement reflected in Hank
Cheers, Mark, yes as much as Hank is chilled when sailing, he is always super excited to have a run around back on the beach 😁😁
So Happy for your guys back on the water! Cheers and Congrats!
Thanks so much, we're pretty happy about it too, Chuck, although it's certainly been an interesting ride so far!! 😂😂
Well Carly and Dom, as I am catching up on your excellent tours, having spent much time anchoring in both Caribbean and East Coast Maine harbours going for a mooring wa the right choice. Well done!!
Congratulations for your successful shake down cruise.👍 Can't wait for new adventures.
Cheers, Andreas, the footage is coming 😁😁⛵️⛵️⛵️
Congrats on your first sail of the year...well done vlog....keep them coming !!!
Thanks. Thomas, will do.
Hope you're safe and well. 🙏🏻🍻⛵️
Great achievement love you guys and Hank hes awesome
Cheers, Terry, and yes, Hank isa little legend 😁
Been over that bridge loads of times love looking over at Southampton Water seeing them tug boats love them
Aye m8’s, I sure can feel your appreciation for finally being on the move. Thnx for showing and telling your story in your own personal way. Looking forward to more info about your new rigging, solar panels etc. All what you've done to get going.
Hey matey, thanks, yes it feels good to be moving, although I won't lie, it's been a super challenging week so far. 😂
New subscribed. I am so happy I have found you! Vizslas are amazing dogs and best companions and it is wonderful that you can sail with him. I am sure I shall enjoy your videos from now on I became a fan!
Welcome!! Glad you enjoyed the video and yes, you'll be seeing much more of Hank (the hero of the story 😁)
No no no. Not clueless. We've probably all seen some truly daft individuals shrugging their shoulders and doing dumb, dangerous and idiotic things on their channels. This was delightful, sedate, and lovely. Congratulations Cadoha and crew!
Glad you thought so, Alan, although I must have simply not come across these more clueless yachties yet 😳😂
Are you pleased with the wind turbine installation up the mast please.? Can you feel any vibrations coming down? Great videos guys ! Thanks
It was actually a windex we fitted and no, I can’t say we notice any vibrations from it.
and we look forward to many more adventures and a lot more feathers...
Cheers, John, that makes four of us 😁😁😁😁
Small steps, well done. Such an honest channel, keep it up guys I love following your adventures.
Cheers, Matt, it is a fairly open book, just trying to figure it all out as best we can 😁😁⛵️🍻
@@CadohaAdventures if you guys ever find yourselves near the Essex coast happy to take you hurricane or tornado catamaran sailing.
Will be sure to give you a shout if we end up around there then! 😁😁⛵️⛵️
It's great to see you on the water again. You are not the most clueless yachties on RUclips, there are others actively campaigning for that title. I also always love the music in your videos.
Thanks, Chris, I guess I just haven't come across those guys yet, ha ha.
Hope you're well. 🍻
Well done. There are two channels with a bucket load of subscribers Sailing Uma and La Vagabonde and both couples set off without a lesson and with zippo sailing experience. It’s all ahead of you⛵️👍
Ha ha, they may have lacked sailing experience but both of those teams have bags of talent in other areas 👌🏻
Great job. Crossing a busy Solent then around into West Wittering may not be that far, but it’s complicated sailing. Lots of traffic, Pompey harbour entrance and tide. So don’t mix up distance with technical sailing. Sailing on a beam reach across miles of open ocean is much easier than that. You’re making great progress. Well done. Enjoy yourselves. Live life!
Thanks, that's always good to hear, I think some of us (me) get too focused on miles sailed rather than obstacles tackled, perhaps?
I feel like we've learned more in the last few weeks though experience, trial and error, than we have in the last 18 months. 😳😂
Well done on the successful first passage. Shame no beer though!!! Onwards and upwards as they say
Great job guys. Im such a newbie that I don't even have a boat yet, but I will. Fun sail and glad 'yall had fun. See you next time.
Thanks, Les, and. we. were where you are , just 18 months ago 😁
Oh well done guys. Chichester or Chi as the locals call it can be tricky on a big springs. The "Bar" can be rough in wind over tide. The witterings is nice but a popular place to anchor and your best taking a buoy. Especially further up toward the marina and old canal. Where a short walk to the pub through leafy green lanes gets you a cold Guinness. What's your plans? are you going to escape this season?
Sail safe guys from us, just taking a few days in a marina out of Mistral thats blowing down from the gulf of Leon and enjoying a few doggy walks in Licata, Sicily. Ant, Cid and Oscar.
I'm going to show my ignorance here, but the Mistral is a weather system that's fairly well forecast?
@@CadohaAdventures Yes pretty much. The issue is with the local effect around islands where wind and swell can change direction rapidly. Wind intensity can vary greatly over mountains hills and around headlands. Its sailable in most cases but if you can get out of it for a few days........... Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.
@@SVImpavidus This will all be things we need to learn about for next year (hopefully).
Will also be interesting to see how Brexit affects how long we can cruise in the Med for too? 🧐
Done it recently, not by choice but nececity. 7 on the nose, top of the tide, top of springs.. fun😜?.. umm..
Hey guys well done!! I feel like youre getting into a rhythm now! You look and sound more comfortable on the camera than ever before!! Keep up the good work :)
Cheers, we feel like we're slowly getting into a kind of rhythm with things now...... Although lets see how the next few weeks of sailing go? 😂
Well done, Cadoha! Love your attitude!
Cheers, Nick, just trying to get the hang of it all. Fun and scary in equal measure right now 😂😂
definitely a notable milestone cracked, good for you!
Cheers, Dean, it certainly felt like it!
Well done! It is a big deal... hoping to do similar soon. You both (sorry all three!) looked pretty chilled about it all too.
Lovely work you two. The camera quality was lush. Really beautifully sharp and I don't know if you intended it or not but the blue sky was complementing Hanks tones magnificently. Wonderful upload. Cheers.
Thank you very much! Although I have to admit that half the camera shots are pure fluke, I just shoot lots of stuff and some of it comes out ok 😂⛵️🍻
Hope you're staying safe and well?
Like, like, nd like again, awesome camera work, great editing, got bored of giving you all the thumbs up..love it,... Bless you all 😁🙏.
David Carr that's very kind of you to say, David, glad you enjoyed the vid 😬😁⛵️
Hi guys, we were wondering what is the cylindrical/capsule box attached at the top of your mast ? We've seen that on other boats in France but we've never understood what the thingy was for. Great videos ! Cheers from France !
Bigs first steps. I really enjoy the tone of your channel. I look forward to your next one. Hank is great.
Thanks a bunch! and yes, Hank is an utter legend, I'm so proud of him and how amazingly he's adjusted to life on a boat. We even bought him a steak tonight after chilling through his last passage which involved over 30knts on the nose with wind against tide!! 😳😳😳
Yes...lots of pretty feathers in your caps. Well done!
Cheer's Peter, I feel like we've earned a Native American head dress after the week we've just had though, ha ha. Will be sure to catch you up in the next vid 😂
Congratulations, I think it’s a big deal and you’ve done well, fantastic!!!
Thanks, Amber, we think so too! Baby steps 😂😁⛵️⛵️
Good for you guys, keep sailing and Hank looks settled in
Hank has been an absolute legend, especially this week. We really couldn't ask for a more chilled dog on a boat! 😁⛵️
“Warping off” never fails and safe as houses great choice! My boat was out on the water today, unfortunately not with me onboard but my dad while I’m away! Stoked to see you back on the water 🤟🏽 I did a drone shoot of our fleet the other day, can’t put on my insta but came out pretty good, 5 boats on the water, your filming and telling the story is bang on 👌🏼 bit gutted won’t be able to see you guys sailing off as not home until October! Bloody covid! Congrats on the shakedown guys! Awesome milestone! 🥳
Cheers, Chris. Wow you're away until October? Man that must be tough. Well we'll be back in the winter so with. Covid permitting, lets make sure we do that beer after all! 🍻
Sailing Cadoha yeah covid is making me do a crazy long trip as my oppo was stuck here so I have to re pay the leave! Yep we can catch up for a dirty beer when covered in antifoul dust and grease! 😂
Sounds ideal. Stay safe out there 👌🏻🙏🏻🍻
bloody well done !
So glad it all went well for you guys , Hank was magnificent as always. the real star. looking forward to you next post already
x
Thanks, John, it was like our Everest base camp, ha ha. It's amazing how much more intense the experience of sailing somewhere new is when you no longer have an instructor on board 😳😳😂⛵️
Thankyou for your honesty about your learning journey. Grab a mooring ball on Beaulieu River too when the wind and tide let’s you....wondering if you will be entering the RTI “race” end Sept?!.....soyez courageux et en sécurité quoi que vous ayez choisi de faire xXx.
Probably won't be racing anytime soon, Claus, no, in fact I don't even think we'll be back by then anyhow, but if we are, we'll certainly be watching.
Nous essaierons d'être courageux et essayerons encore plus d'être en sécurité. 🙏🏻👌🏻⛵️🍻
Great to see you guys back under sail, a massive well done on your first trip tricky area around there. So envious, not been back on the water since Convid, hopefully sometime soon though.
All the best,
Paul
Ahhh, hope you get back out there soon, Paul and yes, it feels great to be under sail, it almost felt like it may not happen, some days 😳
Mate....it is BIG Deal...well done to the BOTH of you...really good....cheers
Thanks, Peter, it certainly feels like a milestone for us 👍
I'm German living in Germany.
You make very nice videos.
I wish luck to you two. And very nice days with your sailing boat
Thank you very much, Joachim, we're glad you enjoyed them.
Hope you're staying safe and well. 🤞
Prost 🍻
I know what you mean about first sail of 2020 being in July! Chichester looked lovely, we must take Anika up there.
Hey, Martin, have you managed to squeeze much sailing in since then?
Sailing Cadoha I think we did about 9 days in July; went to Yarmouth, Beaulieu and Osbourne a few times. Big adventure starts tomorrow!
@@freakent That sounds exciting, what's the plans?
9mins in what a fabulous montage. Great selection of music , great images, just can’t wait to follow you round the globe... I can’t help finding you on patreon and doing my bit to ensure your future...
That's really kind of you to say, we're just happy it was enjoyable to watch 👌🏻⛵️🍻
Awesome video! You came into my home sailing grounds of chichester harbor. East head is an amazing anchorage and the sunsets are to die for!
Awesome, will be sure to explore more of the harbour when we're back! 😁😁⛵️
My German Shorthaired Pointer is in LOVE with Hank. She stands at the TV and waits for him to be in the scene.
At 1:20 you walked past some interesting looking boats, what the heck are they?
I'm sure Hank and your GSP would get on like a house on fire 😁
Those boats are converted life/ rescue boats into liveaboards. The cream coloured one is the only one I've looked inside and it's an awesome little studio space, the guy how owns it has done a really good job.
Just love "travelling" with the three of you. Have to admit though I am not usually one for favourites but Hank comes out top crew member. You are acing the video Dom, pretty impressive. Stay safe and keep them coming nice respite from the rest of the worlds nonsense.
Jenny, I think most people would forgive you for having Hank as a favourite, ha ha.
Hope you're safe and well 🤞🍻
Good on ya mates! Great job!
Thank you! 👍
Great sail. Good for you. Looks like Captain Hank had a great sail.
We're so proud of Hank, he's been an utter legend on board and taken everything from this gentle sail, to. head on into over 30knts with wind against tide, just fearless! Love that dog so much! 🙏🏻👌🏻🍻
Yes guys 😃 follow the horizon and don’t have any regrets 👍 as always stay safe
Cheers, Dave, we're certainly trying our best 😁😁
Well done on your first solo trip of note.
Thanks a lot! It's small potatoes for many, but felt like Everest base camp for us, ha ha 😂⛵️⛵️⛵️
Why put the new solar panels vertical? When you get down here to the Med the sun will be overhead all day and every day. (Maybe I exagerate a little. Currently a bit overcast, and rain forecast tomorrow and the next day). News report from Estepona, Costa Del Sol.
They are on hinges and lift up. You can choose the angle to point them at and we just fold them down when we sail between destinations, although if we needed the extra power and it was calm sailing, then we'd put them up to catch those rays 😁⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures Yes, thank you. I realised that when I saw a later video. Good idea.
well done....take it one step at time and enjoy your progress...never mind old salts tales....build up you own story at your own rate. love your dog!
Cheers Angelo, yes we're all just finding our feet together. We love Hank too, he's one of a kind 😂😁
Brilliant guys well done 👍⛵️
Thanks 😁
Great vid guys. Loving the content!
Sebastian of the Angels! Glad you liked it, thanks again for the wine you guys 😁😁
Well done! Your hard work deserved that sail and good weather, and your video editing is improving every episode, really good I enjoyed all of it......o.k now enough niceties....I'm not the only one to mention 'haircuts' muhaaaa the boat doesn't look like a hobo that was a reflection off the glossy hull ha ha...boat looks great bye the way. And one last thing,,, kill cords are for wearing tsk, tsk 😜👍
Ha ha, well, Ray the haircut has become a somewhat contentious issue as we hit 10k subs when the Barbour shops were back up and running, although Carly is trying to play the 'yeah but lock down still isn't 'fully' over', so she wins.
Cheers! No small accomplishment for you three, heck I’m even proud of y’all!
Thanks, Adi, that's nice of you to say. This last week has made me proud of the entire crew, which I'll talk about in the next vid as it's been a bonkers week of sailing 😂
Well done you made it look easy and very enjoyable shame about the beer 🍺 need to stock up mate first rule before you set off is to check the beer stock lol 😝
Agreed, total school boy error 😂
Well done guys !!!
Well done you 3, I have it all to go through next year on mine too... Nice to see Hayling again. I used to holiday there when I was a kid....I am just about to fit my monster solar panel this weekend, Arch is built, charger is in and wired and two 130 amp batteries are fitted as well. Looking forward to seeing all the upgrade vids. Take care and stay safe :)
Sounds like you're making good progress on your plans to then?! Are you going to be documenting your adventures anywhere?
@@CadohaAdventures Yes Jazzi Girl is coming on nicely. Not sure about documenting it at the moment. Don't seem to have time with running the business too. Still undecided if I am going to do a RUclips channel yet either. I like to be on the other side of the camera 😊
Vince Sygall well if you do then be sure to let us all know 😁👌🏻
Funny and witty as always ...haha I was truly actually under the impression that you were seasoned sailors !! I think I ll catch up north for that beer ...good beer 12%
Noooo, we just had a seasoned old salt with us all the time who made it look like we had half a clue what we were doing 😂😂
Nicely done! It looked like a couple of nice days too. We just got brushed by Hurricane Isaias. Got lucky. (this time).
Oh no! Glad. to hear you're ok, and yes we really did have the best couple of days to get back into the swing of things 😁
Well done guys I’ve just subscribed to your channel awesome your doing what I’m not brave enough to do yet and I said yet.
Gary, if we can do it, then I can assure you that anyone can. Hope that helps with any bravery issues 😬⛵️⛵️
Damned pleased to see you getting out sailing and having a great time. Of course that will have been a New Zealand white wine you imbibed?? Looking forward to your next video.
Of course, can you beat a good Marlbrough sauvignon blanc? 😁
about time ,,, i guess now you seeing just how easy it all is ..
Yeah, piece of cake, Roddy, don't know what all the fuss is about 😳😳😳
Me and my friend bought a little boat, in Shamrock Quay, can’t ask you guys for help now that you’re gone, damn it 😂
We'll likely be back that way for the winter, so by all means if we can help with something you can always give us a shout. At this point in proceedings I'm not sure how much use I am yet 😂
Great stuff, and well done 👏👏👌
More Carly and Hank, they are much better looking. 🤣
Yeah, that's a fair shout. 😂🍻👌🏻
Well done guys, great vlog, great music too as usual.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jon 😁
Nice video - could be fun to know if Mads is watching your videos :)
I think he may watch the occasional vid, but he's too busy building what will no doubt become the Trident Warrior Queen of the seas 😂
Wow loved the video thanks,it was great,
Great video, lovely to watch👌⛵️
Glad you enjoyed it
Love Hanks shark fin life jacket it’s so cool
It was a pretty funny purchase when we got it, although I think we're going to upgrade it to something a bit more heavy duty and brighter coloured, if God forbid he did ever end up overboard.
We'll certainly keep the shark fin jacket though for his dingy rides. :)
@@CadohaAdventures you must include Hank swimming in one of your videos Hank half dog half shark i think we would all love to see that one day
Ha ha, will be sure to next time he gets in the water with me 😁
Sailing Cadoha can’t wait to see it lol
glad to sea :-) you got out onto the wet stuff.
You and me both, Iain! ⛵️🍻
Sailing Cadoha
Thanks, I was also following the you tube channel "Sailing Bora Bora" they sailed a victory from Falmouth to the med and on to the Caribbean, it looks a solid boat, I am currently on the Spain's Costa del sol and was going to fly back to the Uk to take a look at that blue hulled Victory but unfortunately it appears to be under offer, I have been inspired by your videos and I am looking to set sail next spring.
Ah, awesome, it's always nice to think that the videos may just inspire someone else to get out there, as other peoples videos no doubt played a large role in our deciding to go on a crazy adventure.
The guy who owned the Victory which was moored behind us had just himself come back from a few years sailing around the Caribbean.
Well done on achieving all the work that was necessary and for ‘flying solo’. You have done more sailing than the hapless couple on ‘Sailing Nervous’ and I think they are in their 4th year - they must have put a couple of thousand hours on their engine though.🥴
Cheers, Norman, well we're trying to get up to speed and realise that experience will likely be the best teacher going forward, well that and a huge amount of input we get from online sailing communities 😁😁😁⛵️
Good stuff, do you ever watch Mads vids and think, omg what have i got to look forward to :)
Ha ha, nooo, I just try to do a little bit here and there as and when I can, and hopefully stem off a huge project.
Probably just wishful thinking on my part though 😂
Good luck to you 3. We will follow you from our home in Portugal.
Thanks, Alan. We can't wait to get back over to Portugal, hope you're staying safe and well? 🤞🍻
Hi Gang, great to meet you all earlier today..
(David, 'Blue Yonder' - Portland Marina)..
("love the show" 😜.)
Keep in touch gang..
Fair winds n . Live The Dream🙏
Hey, David, good to meet you too. Sorry if we seemed a bit quick, Hank hadn't been to the toilet for 12 hours and just sat through a 30knt wind against tide final part of a passage, so we just wanted to get him to have a run on the beach.
@@CadohaAdventures no worries gang, {gotta a springer myself.. When a dog has to go, a dog has to go 😁.)
How goes your diesel issue?
David Carr we're just trying to find someone who can come out and clean the tanks. Have rung pretty much everyone we can find and now just waiting for people to come back to us.
@@CadohaAdventures might find that you will have to pay n ickle bit of a premium. However, 'Boatcare' have just sorted me out a treat. Really quick All issues sorted, minimal fuss.. Ask for Andy, old school engineer the resident engineer.. Great guy 👍🙏
Cheers, Dave, will look them up now 😁
I noticed in this video your moored next to a victory sailing yacht, what is your opinion of this yacht? TIA
It was up for sale too and we both thought that it looked awesome for the money (about 40k). It looks like a boat that would keep you warm, dry and safe out there for sure.
But I'm no expert on boats, that's just my novice eye opinion, but we liked it 😬

Capt. Hank Rules!!!
He is a little super star 😁😁
Great vlog and music too- how was the needles channel etc no issues en route?
We did end up having some issues, yes, but that all came after the needles, ha ha, which you'll find out about in the next video no doubt, but let's just say that we've been tested this last week 🤪
Sailing Cadoha good luck thanks for coming back and look forward to seeing the vlog. Looking at a similar trip with our wire haired Viszla so interesting to hear of your challenges!
Our only challenge with Hank solar is getting him to go to the toilet on the boat, he's very particular about toilet time 😂
Sailing Cadoha Murphy looks at us still like we are insane if we try a mat for him to do the biz. He’d rather cross his legs - work in progress ....
Yeah congratulations 👍👍
Thanks, Chad 👍
Nice one Guys !
Thanks! 😁
Your music selections are spot on - feels like I'm at the movies . haircuts ?????????
Ahhh, well it's cool that you enjoy the journey, it makes it all worth while, Doug. 🍻
Some music but Ambient sounds for us who don't own a boat. I have a radio for music. Be safe.
I'll have to make some ASMR episodes then 😁⛵️⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures Of course it's your video and it's what you like that's important so don't let me be the rude one. I'll enjoy your work regardless. Have fun.

Finally sailing!
Yes, finally indeed. It was starting to become a sailing vlog with no sailing 😂😂
How did you make that handle for the drone?
Here you go, hope this helps you 🙏🏻 How to land a drone on a sailing boat.

Great thanks that helped a lot
hi Dom have you had that lump on your neck looked at or is it an injury?
It appeared on my neck after being kicked in the neck. I've had it looked at and the doctors said that event was likely coincidental and it's some kind of vascular issue, but no-one could figure out exactly what it was.
OK Guys keep her lit..
Will do, Reg ⛵️⛵️
Awesome video :)

That's it, you guys are ready, Bora Bora next...?
I'm with you, Carly still needs some convincing though 😂
Good to se ya again
Thanks, Andy 😁
Hope you're safe and well?! 🤞☺️
Are you growing a sweater for Hank ?
No, just getting ready for a casting in case they decide to remake castaway 😁
Nice, i have a boat at drivers dry birth on the river itchin
Feel free to swing by and say hello when we're back 😁
Well done. Very enjoyable.
Many thanks! 😁
i love your channel !
Nice one guys, great first trip. You guys are far from being the most clueless yachties on RUclips. At least you educate yourselves and are Hamble about your experience but you have probably done more in that trip than many do in a season as many boats don’t leave the dock, and in the case of Chichester Harbour, they don’t go either than marina to East Head. Roll on the next video and loving Hanks enthusiasm and clear both of you are so happy to be out sailing again. Andy UK
Thanks, Andy, well all I can say is that the next couple of weeks really tested our skills and resolve, more than once, so will see you. in the next video 😳😬⛵️⛵️
Nice video
Brilliant
That ketch at the back had unusual location for wind turbine
What was it about it that you would have changed? I'm clueless, Dion't forget, so keen to see why others do the things they do to their boats 😁
@@CadohaAdventures pretty inaccessible up there during passage, it may also get tangled up with halyards. But it is a interesting installation
Ah fair enough, yes I can see that being tricky to get to whilst at sea 🧐
