  • The main event of my weekend trip to the Conway Scenic was a steam excursion from North Conway to Whitefield,NH, where the CSRR tracks terminate. Canadian National 0-6-0 #7470 did a fine job attacking the brutal grades of the former Maine Central Mountain Division, and required no diesel helpers.
    1) #7470 @ N.Conway being prepared for the run.
    2) right outside of N. Conway; The Glen.
    3)entering Bartlett.
    4) Notch-land.
    5)Ripleys falls.
6)The apex of the grade coming into Crawford Notch.
    7)Fabyans
    8)entering Whitefield.
    9)Arrival in Whitefield.

Almost sounds like Louisville and Nashville #152 or Feather River Shortline #8.
