your footage really captures the magic of these lenses when combined with the komodo. goes to show capturing the information on a sensor is just one part of the process, it's your grade that really brings this to life.
This doesnt just "look" like a movie.... it IS a movie! Such a beautiful array of shots my man. Seriously. And the Color Grade here is just absolutely phenomenal 👌🏼
@@EdProsser Dude ! thank you so much! That means more than you know! You really motivated me to get a set of Anamorphics asap! Absolutely loved this man! thanks for the sub!
Maaaaaaattteee this looks so good! I was at the Barbican the other day actually, had pizza at the place at 1:!5 hah. Love the colour, made me wanna get my nanomorphs out and go shoot again!
Yeah I really wish I had the nanomorph primes to compare to these. I imagine the primes still have the edge on these optically. Are you still enjoying them?
what a great look! one detail I also like is the fine noise grain visible, when I upload videos to yt it gets lost in the yt compression must of the time allthou I upload very high bitrates, tried h265 and h264 but same result. so only thin I know is to overdo the grain but its tricky as its hard to control. any tips on how you achived this? I do notice its mostly just visible in the highlights here too.
I apply the grain earlier on in my node tree so it gets pushed and pulled with corrections. I dial some saturation within the grain effect tab, also increase the sharpness of the grain too. Then I export in h265 in 10bit around 40-50mbps - always upload in 4k as well... Hope that helps!
Hi Ed! Just wanted to ask what service you used for this soundtrack and what the name of the song and artist is. This really spoke to me. It really gives me Green Mile vibes.
Hmm no I think it'd be wayyyy too front heavy they're quite long, like a standard 70-200 stills zoom or similar to the LAOWA rangers if you've seen them?
I paid the two on professional shoots all the time, but I haven't made a vid about it. I have a long term review of the Komodo coming up so I'll talk the pair in that.
Nice seeing the lens in action. In my honest opinion the anamorphic character doesn’t seem to be strong. Very subtle ..but it’s because I’m watching it on my smartphone. Just not the typical anamorphic look and feel.
Yeah, they aren't super strong looking, similar to the original Nanomorphs or the SIRUI Saturns - I'll try to demonstrate the anamorphic features more in my full review video.
@@EdProsser okay but Saturn really has a stronger character in my opinion. Looking forward to the next video, really curious. After watching the video again the character is more similar to the Sirui Mars series
@@KevinvanDiest Do you mean the Saturns? Yeah I totally agree - I imagine very similar lens design - I will compare these to the Sirui Saturns in the main vid.
I ain't gonna yell at you! Like most things in creating looks, you can have an "in your face" wild anamorphic look or something more controlled and subtle. These do retain subtle anamorphic characteristics without being too funky or unpredictable, which some people will like for certain projects. Everyone has different tastes and each project different requirements and that's okay.
It depends what you want with an anamorphic lens, or what a project calls for. I know what you mean though, I love some of the crazier anamorphic lenses, but they're not right for every project and most are also very expensive.

Thanks man! I liked how this one came together
Cant wait to hear your thoughts Ed! Beautiful footage.
Thanks man, just recorded my piece to camera today - should be out towards end of next week!
The most underrated channel on RUclips. Beautiful stuff as always man!
It's the best kept secret on RUclips!
You finally got to release this, LFG 😁 Beautiful shots! Can't wait to see what other work you use these on.
Thanks dude - yeah glad to push this little edit out been sitting on it for a while!

Beautiful work Ed!
Thanks man, good to see you on Fri. We need to take the Komodos out soon!
Great work Ed! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Thanks man, longer vid should arrive next week
Stunning shots mate. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these.
Thanks dude!
Can't wait for the review! Got the 65mm about a month ago and it's my favorite lens at the moment lol.
I wish I'd had chance to shoot on the primes before so I had a reference for these zooms.
Dude whaaaat, this is insane
Gorgeous footage!!
thanks man probably not as sunny and colourful as yours will be 😂
Great work Ed!
🥳
SO good Ed!
Looks great!
composition and grade slaps as always :)
Thank you 🙏

@@EdProsser Would actually love to compare the primes to the zooms… I feel a crossover coming on 👀
These look really promising

I use Epidemic sound - www.epidemicsound.com/referral/yvnrk6
The track featured is called: The Verdict by Trevor Kowalski
these are some really pretty barbican shots mate.
Thanks! It's a great location for testing new gear 🤣
Beautiful footage! Do you think these lenses would fly on a Ronin RS2 or 3? How heavy and long are they?
Hmm no I think it'd be wayyyy too front heavy they're quite long, like a standard 70-200 stills zoom or similar to the LAOWA rangers if you've seen them?
You seriously deserve more SUBS . , I’ll like to see you pair the Komodo with the s5ii . I’m thinking about that setup . PLEASEEEEEEEE

@@EdProsser I meant the Saturn is stronger, and this Laowa zoom seems like the Sirui Mars series (MFT) ..you do know them right?
Yes sorry got my planets mixed up. I think on S35 the Saturns are pretty comparable
Stupid question but what camera is this shot on?
Very sensible question ! I forgot to put it in the description. Shot on the RED Komodo, have added it to the title now, thanks!
Much appreciated thank you and I'm also interesting in buying this lense does it fit onto the black magic pocket 4 k?
Yell at me all you want, this would've looked nearly identical with spherical.

You're still getting more horizontal fov regardless of the look
Not if you just use a wider lens@@Samvisualarts
these look pretty underwhelming for anamorphics but compositions were great!

Would’ve been nice if both lenses were T2.0. Hehe lol
Totally! Would probably have made them bigger and more CA to control!
