You decorating your tree in handmade ornaments reminds me when my 2 boys were your kids age. Our tree was nothing but handmade ornaments and my 2 boys are 44 and 47 and they still have memories of all the fun we had when they were young.

Wonderful! I love the natural, homemade look. An easy way to make ornaments is to make a batter with salt and flour and then cut them out with cookie cutters or freehand with a knife. They need to be baked and are fun to paint and decorate. The recipe can be found online.
Great idea to use a Christmas tree you can replant instead of a cut one. It’s becoming more popular. The decorations look nice and festive. I like to do a tree where most of the things can be eaten.
I have already dried apple, oranges, and lemons. We string popcorn for garland. I also make gingerbread cookies to hang on the tree. Along with a few ornaments.

If i ever have kids i want to make ornaments with them. Yeah the ones you use every year often to have good memories of an event or person, but making ornaments would be a good way to Make memories 😊🎄and teach them a bit about the history behind making them while doing it

I love your and Toyala's humor. I was going to ask why you had the root ball with the Tree! Make sure the tree doesn't dry out (maybe put it in a large bucket so you can water the roots). You don't want the tree to catch fire. If it makes it, I guess you can try to plant it.

Everything is lovely and festive. I have to say my favorite part is the little shelf in the kitchen with the little trees, evergreen boughs and lights. So charming! We decorate with dehydrated oranges too. I also use tiny gourds on the tree. Christmas blessings to you, Tolya and your sweet girls.

That's a beautiful tree with a fantastic big root ball, so it will remain healthy until it's time for it to go outside again. I've always put my decorations up on christmas eve and kept them up until 6th january when the three kings arrive (12 days of christmas) which is traditional where my mother was born. I don't hold with putting them up too early, I think it's over the top. So I don't think you're late with putting them up. They look lovely and just go to show you don't need to buy ornaments to decorate. It's more personal to make your own. Have a very happy christmas. ❤❤❤❤

This sweet video reminds me of one Christmas when my husband cut down a scraggly tree that his employer wanted rid of. He brought it home sticking out of the trunk of his car. We set it up. It was a sorry looking little tree with sparse, thin branches that wouldn’t hold many of our ornaments. My husband saw the potential in It, but I was skeptical. We popped popcorn and strung it with cranberries to make a garland. We made cinnamon cutout ornaments in the shape of gingerbread men. It was the cutest little tree when we were done, and it’s the one I remember best of all the trees we’ve ever had. Vika, you will always remember this tree with the homemade ornaments.

You may want to spray the pine tree’s root ball to keep it moist. That may help keep it from dying. Here when we cut our trees, we place them in a stand filled with water so the tree can drink. As for the timing, in central Europe many people don't put a tree up or decorate until December 24th, with the exception of an Advent wreath with candles for each Sunday of Advent, so you're not really late! Now that Christmas is more commercialised, there are more public decorations but it didn't used to be that way.
Also, it's more ecologically sound to have a tree you can plant, especially as you have the land with your house ;). They can grow pretty big, though!

It is sad, really. You go to the stores and you see the prices for everything and people just spend, spend, spend. That's not what Christmas is about.
I love the idea of using soap to make the snowflakes stick! It warmed my heart to see all the Sunday school ornaments! I make many with my SS class every year ❤

You have to keep the roots watered, but should not be in bag, will cause them to rot or grow fungas or mold. Best to get a tree stand, to allow air circulation and keep water in base.

Cats vs. trees. Tie it to the wall, ( 2 cup hooks and string )other wise u will have it on the floor many many times. You two did a great job make it a festive time and place for ur children. Its evident how much u love ur children, u r good parents. As to the tree: Here in The US you can get both the small in the pot to keep alive by planting it in ur yard. Or keep it in a bigger pot for next year. Or the cut one that has a stand that has a place for water to keep it from drying out. And those can be put on the curb for the trash collectors to take to have it shredded for wood chips that are used for landscaping.
