Very nice work, and this will help me soon. I really like the lightening of the frames and plan to do something similar. Maybe a series of holes so as to avoid the issue with the narrow rails.
@@sierraspecialtyauto7049 thanks. It’s just the back frame that is the issue and not only does it house the apron pillars but lower down, there is also the pendulum stops that will need fitting
What speeds and feeds were you using on your cnc mill and what grade of brass? To me it looked very slow and I wondered if you overheated the tip of the tool from too much rubbing.... ask me how I know.... Now I use the FS Wizard app on my phone and assuming a 2mm single flute cutter it offered up a recommendation of 21,904 RPM and a feed of 694mm/minute at .5mm depth of cut. Since my air cooled spindle is unpleasantly loud at high RPM I might slow it down to 12-16k and just adjust the chip load to 0.01mm/tooth.
It is a really good point. I was going very slow (I’d have to look). I always worry about cutting too fast but you are right, I’ll take a look at the app FS Wizzard and try some recommendations. Not only that, going so slow takes ages as well!
Great to see the clock moving forward, nice work 👌
Thanks 👍
