    Great video! Enjoyed the unboxing one as well. And agree on the aesthetics. Not sure what's going on in the Phi design studio but they really need an artistic intervention.

    Since I realised I don't look at my wing during xc flight, I care less about design. I fly Beat 1 and i love it. My next wing will be Phi for sure.

      Seeing how beautiful the handling is, I may well do the same :)

    Hi Dave! so cool to see a small remix of my Symphonia 2 spiral video in your edit haha :) Definitely I would have preferred the Beat 1 design to remain as is with new colors rather than this weirdness. How about thermals, have you also tried it in non coastal soaring but rather mountain thermalling conditions ? I'm considering it as an upgrade. In coastal soaring I guess you could go on an EN-C without too much trouble and have the same kind of review results especially in light winds...

      Hey mate! Lovely spirals, thank you! Sadly being winter I've had zero chance for any thermalling however the legends at FlyBubble have so check out their review for a bit of feedback on that. What I can say is I like the brake pressure, the increase in speed and usability on the speed bar compared to my old low b hook 5 and the glide does seem excellent. It's a lovely "feeling" wing and a pleasure to fly all be it with a wrap because the lines are long. No one should be accidentally stalling this thing lol Depending on your skill level and experience it's a very stable/reassuring wing, but if you want that extra performance on bar and xc is your primary focus than a high B might be a better choice. I primarily fly coastal and rarely get the chance to fly xc so it's perfect for me. If you're cranking those spirals like that though you're probably good for a high B lol

      @alex-in-the-sky Sounds like a machine for thermalling. I recall them even mentioning the leading edge penetration into thermals being similar to a C class. Can't wait to hit Manilla next season.

    Anyone able to compare it with the Tenor (1 or 2)?

    • @AussieDangerDave
      @AussieDangerDave  3 месяца назад

      @sebastiennoir9758 Tenors are a bit more rolley and playful apparently, and yet the beat (particularly the beat 2) provide more feedback (hence Beat 2 not recommended as a first wing) and have slightly better performance in general. Can't compare from experience but that's the general gist of what I've heard if that helps at all. Another thing is the standard versions of both have the option for the comfort risers which are more chunky and easier to manage on launch, so that might be something to consider between the light and standard versions. Quite a few riser options with PHI as a brand, including the R07's.

      Tenor 2 light rolls more than the Beat 2 light. Tenor is also a lot more responsive on the brakes compared to Beat. I will keep my Tenor for messing around and consider a Beat for XC

    The design of the beat 2 was for me a dealbreaker.

      @ihtam634 What a bummer, it's such a beautiful wing to fly. Advance Theta also looks good.
