      What’s the minimal wind speed that would make sense to go out and practice? I’m looking at spot which offers 1.6 up to 2.5 m/s tomorrow but it takes some time to get there by car from my place.

      @@Michal8K8 first of all thanks for the comment.
      It depends. If its steady wind 2.5 might work. I like it a bit stronger.
      Also consider if area still have snow. And also have long travel distance. Might just be better saving the hassle for better days.
      Were is the spot?

      @@JoarABTheflyingraven It’s Øvre Vangen in Lærdal, nearby landing area is a nice snow free spot. Yeah it might be better to go there another time. I just can’t wait to start practicing :)

    What are your tips for keeping high aspect ratio gliders pinned to the ground (often the centre rises up) and also keeping the tips from folding in?

    • @JoarABTheflyingraven
      @JoarABTheflyingraven  8 месяцев назад +1

      To be honest, I haven't encountered this problem. That being said, i fly the base 2. High B .
      But i will try to ask around and get back to you :)

      Ref: bgd teampilot group
      It’s a balance of a little tension in the A lines not enough to lift the glider up about 200-300mm this then pushed the rest of the glider down. Too much brake will lifte the rear edge up. You have to find a balance.

      @@JoarABTheflyingraven Thanks. I could do this fine with my other EN-B gliders but have big issues with the Explorer 2. Even though I keep light A pressure, using the rears at all and not even the brakes means the middle jumps up or I get cravats.

      @turkeyphant sounds like lightweight?
      In stronger wind, i try to do checks on my glider, not in the strongest wind area.
      Then get it when I'm ready.
      My lightweight seems to have an auto lunch function, too :p

      @turkeyphant 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@JoarABTheflyingraven Yes Explorer 2 is a lightweight. And it does like to launch itself!
      The problem is I often need to wait for a lull to launch and while waiting it's impossible to keep it on the ground!

    The little tube that comes with the paraglider is used for ? Please can you make a video about it? Thanks

      Thanks for question.
      It's for repairs. If you damage the leading edge .
      But not quite sure how I should make that video :)

    Why wear a helmet is you stay on the ground ?

    • @JoarABTheflyingraven
      @JoarABTheflyingraven  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good question.
      During ground handling you often deal with strong wind.
      Strong wind equal lots of energy.
      Its easy to get plucked and dragged.
      So its for your protection:)
