Look for the Rodriguez (Sup'air I think) learning clips (both in French & English). He's got a great examples of contolling the wing for beginners, including this back and forth rolling.
I love ground handling. It hones fine skills of timing, duration and amount of input that DEFINITELY apply to active wing management when you're in the air. Great job as always, love watching your videos!
Loved the vid! The part about the open riser position and walking the radius to get the remaining wing tip off the ground was an “Aha!” moment for me. Thank you for taking the time to post this!
Thank you very much Andre, you are BRILLIANT in explaining, You and Gemma teach paragliding simple for to understand, and still safe. I wish you well, best regards for Gemma . God Blesses you both
Nice! I was just trying to show a friend how to do this at our local beach two days ago. I'll send him over to watch this to get taught properly :) I am really looking forward to the intermediate chapter in the Ground Handling Academy. The Essentials chapter is so good, must have more!
Really enjoyed this one... I've been playing with / using cobra launch for some time now but I really wasn't getting the body position right. This will be most helpful!
I work in a machine shop and this is how the real wobble emachineshop world works when applied to aviation. I'm still in the ground handling stages and waiting for the flying season and I watch videos all day and I'm going to watch this one again because that last move was profound how could you be in a very light wind situation run around the wing in a circle and I would be above your head?
Thanks for the nice comments Mark. About the last move we do have a lesson about the "wind window" on our online course, so if you're learning and at the groundhandling stage the Groundhandling Essentials course might be useful.
Hi Martin, it depends on many factors but if you’re going to spend many hours at the beach we recommend the ozone roadrunner, it’s a groundhandling specific wing. We also have a groundhandling bundle available. I’d say that the harness has a impact as big (if not bigger) than the wing. andrebandarra.com/bandarra-pack
Hi can you help me? Im looking for a ground handling wing for 15 to 20 mph winds at my beach. Im thinking of a mini wing or something like a seed or road runner. Which can you recommend?
I would recomend a groundhandling wind rather than a miniwing. The seed or the roadrunner are both fine, very similar. I perfer the RR because it doesn’t have shark nose and makes flying it upside down and getting the sand out much easier
If you guys could travel to California and stay at my house that would be great. Tour the west coast and teach me to fly in between. Thousand bucks plus free room for your stay. 🙂
Sure, here's one in 22kn wind from 5 years ago. For sure it's harder to control the wing in general because it pull you a lot, but the actual side control part is easier. Because of the increased airspeed of the canopy you have A LOT more brake authority before the wing stalls
Cela ne gene personne de proposer aux pilotes de changer le calage de leurs voiles ? 10 mm sur les arrieres font sortir la voile de l'homologation. A part pour les pilotes d'essai je ne vois pas l'interet.
Masterpiece. I've been looking for such explainations for monthes. Waiting fot the GH course, thanks a lot :)
Glad it's helpful!

very educational. this is one of the topics that no one has made yet~ well done~
Thanks! Really good video! I like how you´re giving attention to the small details, that make controlling the wing much easier :)
Wow! Thank you so much for this very helpful explanation and demonstration.
Thanks for educating!!! Currently, I am just reading reading reading….Will fly soon🤞

What is the name of the location? Looks like kitesurfing in the lagoon might be possible as well?

Good to see these types of video again. Now, if only you guys weren't on the other side of the pond.
Thank you for this video! Will definitely be practicing this with your video!
Probably one of the most informative videos I’ve seen and learnt from in pg. Thanks !!
Thanks for this. I was trying to get this just yesterday. Knowing that bit about the open stance is key. Great stuff.
11:40 wow I never ever saw this, I'll try one day LoL Great content and explanation. Thanks so Much
Cool lecture!
Looking forward to intermediate! Fun stuff 🪂

Would this be the basics of the cobra launch. Would you just start in that same position and then tease the wing up by "pulling the bow string"?
Basically, yes!
great..moustache and the pretty
I learnt this from you faster than from Theo d B.

Algum Brasileiro assistindo sem entender nada? O gringo tem um controle de vela invejável. Parabéns gringo!
Obrigado zuca, basta praticar! Mas olha que tem legendas em português
