Thanks Tim... another very fine and easily understood video. I use the S1 RemoteApp in a little different way. I use it to remotely control playback of my previously recorded/edited/mixed solo fingerstyle guitar audio track as I video record myself while playing in-sync with the audio coming out of my loudspeakers (monitors). I can easily set up my camera while I am in "the playing position", then trigger the audio playback and click-track (via the RemoteApp) as I record video of myself playing along "karaoke style". This produces an almost perfectly in-sync video. It's then easy enough to replace the video soundtrack with the pre-recorded audio file. I can even shoot several video "takes" using various camera angles and blend the "footage" I want to use later, making it appear that I have had multiple cameras running... while in reality, I have used only one. Using the RemoteApp this way makes the process fairly painless. Keep up the great videos, Tim!
I assume you can close the mix window and open the track page. So I can see the cursor when recording vocals. (I record my vocals in a vocal booth, so I can't access my computer at the moment) thx 4 the vid.
Here's an unknown handy tip for you. Not only does the Remote app come in an Android and iPhone variant but there is also a Window exe so you can install it on your PC desktop (not sure about a Mac version). Why would use it on a desktop? Well if you've got a touch screen monitor as your second display you can use that to scroll through the mixer, navigate and control plugins. I use the remote this way and it has sped up my workflow massively, I work a lot faster this way
I am planning on doing this as well. Can you tell me if there are any focus issues between the remote app and studio one itself? Does the remote app get focussed everytime you touch it in windows? I'm worried I would have to click in the studio one main window each time after using a function inside the remote app. Which would make simple key commands like spacebar to hit play not work when the remote app is in focus. Can you tell me how this works in your setup?
@@dabizz1 hi, yes it does change the focus, I work around it by using Alt+tab to switch back to Studio One. The app has transport functions so you won't need to switch back to S1
@@dabizz1hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes the remote does take the focus but you can switch back to S1 with the alt+tab keyboard shortcut. You won't need to switch focus though for the transport functions as remote has the panel built in.
I don't know if this is a bug for S1 7, but I can't see any insert effects when in Inserts mode. The only thing I can do with that view is turn all inserts on and off. Also, it looks like there is zero support for controlling 3rd party plugins. Logic Remote at least lays out all the parameters with sliders. This is a huge bummer.
Can I record myself remotely singing/performing in a booth? I mean, is it possible via RemoteApp to create new audio tracks, record and switch to other track and record? There will be no need for a second screen then.
Excellente video ! Moi je m'en sert avec 2 tablettes supplémentaire une Android et une surface. L'ergonomie est parfaite. Seulement jai une question, comment on fait pour enregistrer les modifications qu'on a effectué dans le mode editor ?
There is no other way to switch between patches in the show page other than the remote app? Why is this not possible with your own controller the atom??
Can two remote apps control one desktop session? Thinking about adding another Surface tablet and use both of them for different things. Has anyone tried that?
Great video! I have a question regarding the revelator mic: will the microphone actually store the settings created with universal control once you have switched it off? I am thinking of setting things up on my private computer and then using the mic on my work computer where I couldn’t install any presonus software..
That’s a great question! I don’t have a revelator mic, but I’ll reach out to my friends at Presonus and see if they have the answer or can send me a mic!
Now I see why I could not get windows pc that is hardwired to work, will try this check option to see if it works. Works OK with pc laptop via WiFi just had issues with desktop.
Did it show the macros that are in the typical install of the software on the remote device? The remote device may have it's own list of marcos. I'll have to look into this more and see.
I'm sorry it's not working. I would need more info from you about your versions of the app, version of S1, and information about your network before troubleshooting. We can talk more in Discord! discord.gg/S84G4ejBcj
Thanks - tremendously helpful.
This has got to be the easiest setup of anything I've ever used! Download, select your desktop and it's all working! Great work Studio One.
As a known analog man this helped me so much. I appreciate your skills and will have questions I'm certain. Thank you

As a beginner with the remote app...it helped a lot, thanks a lot
You're welcome!

Hey Tim... would you by any chance know why the network tap is missing in my Studio One 5.5.2?
can the chords be display on the Studio One RC? I see it on the picture where I download the app, but I cant find it on the app

Hey Tim, do you know if there is a way to keep the Main channel always Expanded while having all remaining channels set to Auto-Expand when selected?
Not that I'm currently aware of, but I'll run some experiments and do some research!
Followed you over from Nicki’s Discord server
Very meaningful, understandable and informative video. Many thanks.

Hi Tim, how do i use the show page on stage when I'm not connected to my pc?
How do you clear a clip red bar in the meter from the remote app? I find it annoying and can't figure how to clear the clip in the app. Nice video!

u say it shows all macros in the session but the app can't even show the macro toolbar we've created. Nice.
