I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for taking me along with you (and I didn't even have to peddle). Your enthusiasm and passion for fishing shine through brightly. It is refreshing. Truly. Thank you.
Let me make some suggestions: 1. Read directions on the package. (It shows how to switch sides of crank, etc.). 2. Set drag before 1st cast, so line slips when pulled, then line and rod can NOT break and fish will tire out. Leave it alone while playing a fish. Set right, a submarine can't break it, if left alone. (You'll land many more fish).
    3. Don't crank fish toward you. It only twists up your line, badly, when it's slipping. It doesn't bring the fish closer. 4. Use a pumping action, reeling the rod tip down toward the fish, (stop reeling), then pull the fish toward you gently without reeling. When rod tip is back up, reel it down toward the fish again. It's called "pumping", and is very effective. 5. Always keep your rod bent (90° angel from the line). This acts as a shock absorber to the fish and makes him work hard, tiring him out. Also makes it hard to throw the hook. Finesse the fish in. I'm 70 and have lived and fished very successfully in 10 states, from Alaska to California, Michigan to Florida where I live (and Canada). Keep making videos, and keep having adventures. It makes life rich and fulfilling. Embrace it.

I have been using spincast reels since I was a kid and yes, they can handle the big ones; just stay away from the very cheap ones. I own two of the older Omega pro reels and three Zebco Bullets. I had used spincast reels for so long that I found casting a spinning reel to be a bit awkward. A bait casting reel, takes a bit of practice to use, but becomes easy once you have it set up properly. Happy Fishing!!!

I personally own a spin cast, spin reel and bait cast. My opinion doesn't matter what you use or how you do it. If you are catching fish and loving life. You do you. People making fun of others for what they use and saying you aren't serious about the sport because you are using a spin cast. I've caught a lot of very impressive fish on an old zebco 202. And I've seen pros use the old zebco 33. Keep reeling them in and enjoy it!

the Zebco Reel can be changed from right to left hand retrieve. remove the screw on cap from the left side of the reel opposite where the center of the handle enters the reel. the handle should slide out and be inserted on the left side with the retaining screw cap on the right side. I own a zebco 606 reel from the late 1960's (all metal case). Keep them clean, free of sand, and spool new line when it begins to get twisted. Use a 6ft+ Medium action rod for bass. although a 7+ft medium light fast action rod would let you throw a 1/8 of a long way on 6lb trilene line. My wife and I use Spinning and Spincast reels normally, the only drawback is the Braided line does not work well, and can cut groves in the line retrieve pin. We have caught several nice bass on them. We use mostly the more expensive zebco 33 reels, and get one or 2 new reels every year or 2. They work well with 6 - 10lb Line. I think Zebco uses CAJUN brand line.

I own all three types of reels. Spincast, spinning, and bait cast. My opinion, doesn't matter what you use or how you do it. If you are catching fish and enjoying life. Just do you. Making fun of someone for what the use for fishing, or saying you aren't serious about fishing just because you use a spincast, or aren't using a 500 dollar set up, has no effect on the fish you catch. Ive seen pro use a zebco 33 before. Ive caught a lot of impressive fish on an old zebco 202 in my life. Nevermind what other people think. You be you and keep reeling them in and enjoy it 😃

I've got nerve damage so for me spincasters are legit. In particular I love the KastKing Brutus spincast reel. What's so good about it? It's a pretty smooth reel and it can be spooled up with braid, even. Most spincast can't, though it looks like your Omega can have braid too. It's like $35, goes on sale often, and it's a workhorse.

I just ordered a ZEBCO 888. It is capable of bringing a catfish that is over 4o pounds. Buy a O'L WHISKERS CATFISH ROD and you'll be able to bring in a fish of 40 pounds or more. The Zebco 808 is also a strong and capable reel. Use it on the O'L WHISKERS rod also and you'll be able to bring in some nice heavy fish.

The Omega pro is rated for 30lb braided line but pre spooled with 10lb out of the box .and but it is a step up in terms of build quality... 888 is nicely built but the Omega Pro , takes it to that next level. 888 prem feel.
