Hello Guy's from Middle Georgia , great vid, in 2019 my wife caught an 11.5 lbs largemouth on a Walmart pink Zebco 33 reel and rod combo that cost $21.00 and shamed me for months , And I was fishing a $230 Lews rod and reel combo, So to all ya'll baitcaster pro's just don't rule out the little people and the old school gear, " IT WORKS " !!!!!
That is so awesome and funny at the same time ! Your wife put the hammer down on you !! 💪 Was that her PB ? If its bigger than your PB then she is probably still rubbing that in. I know my wife would !!! LOL What lakes or Rivers do you fish? I'm starting to branch out into new lakes within a hour and a half to two hours from me down here in Valdosta. And thanks for watching, that was definitely a fun day on the lake with a good life long friend.
The Zebco 33 has been around so long and really hasn't changed much at all is a good indicator on how reliable it is ! Hard to beat for the money. That is so cool that he still has it. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much. This was a easy one to film because we are life long friends and have been fishing together all our lives. Good times for sure. And glad you enjoyed the experience with us. Thanks for watching and stay tuned. Tom and I have another one coming soon.
Grew up bass fishing in a Jonboat and a zebco on small ponds from Jesup to Higgston. This brings back memories of my and my granddaddy. Thank you so much.
So glad we were able to bring back some good memories for you. It did the same thing for us. We have fished together since we were kids nad it was fun to get back together again for a fishing trip. It had been 20 years or so since we actually got on the lake together again. We had a blast for sure. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Stay tuned there we be more.
its refreshing for an inshore saltwater fisherman like me, to see a bass angler propperly working a spinning reel, like the way the gentleman in the blueshirt is showing us. both guys are very experienced and it showed! great video. ireally really liked it
Thanks for noticing. We are definitely no pros but we have been bass fishing pretty much our whole life. This video was particularly special because it has been many years since we got back in the boat together and went for a few hours. Work and just life in general seems to get in the way of doing what we did in our younger days. So you just got to get out there and make the time. It was definitely a fun day. Thanks for watching.
This video took a lot of viewers back in time. LOL We have all fished with a Zebco33 sometime in our lives it seems like. This was one of the funniest video's I have made because Tom and I go way back together to when we were just kids on the bank throwing the ole 33 catching anything that would bite. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned. We are definitely planning another trip together.
I agree with you Robbie ! The newer rods and reels hold up better and are able to catch bigger fish in the long haul ! But the "Old School" can definitely catch fish though ! We had a blast this day ! Thanks for watching !!! Stay tuned for more exciting lakes and video's !!
Ol’ School!!!! I love it!!!! Good job guys looks like the wacky rig is the way to go! 😎😎 Thanks for sharing all your tips and tricks as always for catching the big ones!! 👌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼
Yeah ! The ole school wacky rig was hot but the Provoke106X is so much more fun to me to fish with. You know me, I like that reaction bite fishing. 😎🔥💯💪 Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more fishing action from some new and exciting lakes !!!
For fishing out of my pack canoe I use either 33 Platinum's with mono or Omega's with braid. They handle everything I catch, are fast, efficient. and you can cast all day without any line issues which can be a "reel" hassle in a small boat.
Yeah for sure the Zebco 33 will perform all day with hardly ever any issues and catches all species of fish for sure. The advancement over the years with reels and rods has gone crazy but the good old reliable 33 still hanging in there. What pound mono do you load yours with. Wow. didn't know it would throw braid !? Cool. And thanks for watching.
@@SouthGeorgiaBassin The Omega Pro has 20 lb braid on it otherwise the 33's have 10 lb mono which has never let me down. When a throw a soft plastics into reeds or fish for pike in weedy lakes I use the Omega with braid. A wire leader is also used when fishing for pike.
Up till it recently vanished on me (inlaws were visiting) I still used the Zebco 33 I got in 1976 for my 10th birthday. Still use the Old Pal 1050 tackle box.
The Zebco 33 has probably caught more fish than any other reel on the market ! Hard to beat it ! Take care of them and they offer a life of fishing memories ! Thanks for watching.
@@SouthGeorgiaBassin just bought one too but had a bad first day. I blame it on user error cuz I just started learning how to fish on my own this year. been wondering how newer stuff really compares to the zebco reels and my grandads old rods/reels which look a lot like what he used with this zebco in the vid.
Yes it is ! It's hard to beat especially for the price. As long as you got it paired up with the right rod and line its a winner !!! Thanks for watching. More Zebco 33 action coming soon !
@@SouthGeorgiaBassin I very paired a new zebco platinum to my grandads old 7' Calcutta medium rod. I haven't taken the line off of it yet. I will admit I keep having my line break inside the reel when I go to cast and say watch my grandads lures go sailing off into the middle of the neighborhood pond. Miss my grandad and the lure just seems to be a bittersweet reminder that he's gone. 😔
Yes we did. LOL We have fished together almost our whole life. It was fun to see if our older equipment would get the job done. And as you can see , it did ! Do you own or use some of the older rods and reels like the Zebco 33 ? And thanks again for watching.
We were just actually talking about this week ! LOL We had to order a part for his Zebco that broke off last outing but its fixed and ready to go for the next trip. Stay tuned ! Another Zebco vs Baitcaster coming soon. Thanks for watching
We actually fished with both, but Tom's bigger fish he actually caught on a very old regular 33 ! LOL That thing is still rocking on. Thanks for watching.😎
Yes you are right about the gear. The gear is just another part of the hobby that some people enjoy buying and accumulating !! LOL As you watched in the video the ole Zebco 33 was handling the fish pretty good. It's all about how you handle it and carefully bring in those ole fatty's. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Tight Lines my friend.
The Zebco 33 is hard to beat especially for the price. It can catch and boat just about anything on the right rod ! Thanks for watching. Make sure and subscribe! Tom and I are planning another Zebco33 Challenge!
I checked with Tom my life long friend and he said on this day he was using 12 pound red Cajun. Might fall back to 10 pd with 202 though!!!!llol Thanks for watching. Stay tuned. The Zebco Zoro will be back !👍💪🎣
The more lily's the better !!! LOL ! Lily pads can be a challenge to fish sometimes. Stay tuned for more Lily Pad Catching fun ! LOL Thanks for watching !😎🙏👌💪💯
If you step up to the Zebco Bullet or Omaha model you will get longer life. Of course they are more money. 💰 $89.00 to $129 range but that’s because it has more expensive parts in it and will last longer. Let’s face it. A 33 model for $20 lasting a year is pretty good. Thanks for watching.

Yes sir that was her PB and it beat my PB by 3 pounds , I'm still trying to live down the ribbing I keep getting from my Buddies
My first rod was a Zebco Donald Duck kids pole. I'm 44 now and it hangs on my dad's wall in his garage. I've ONLY used Zebco 33s ever since. Zebco ❤

Hey brother, have you had a good experience with multifilament line on the Zebco Omega or have you faced some challenges before adapting?
10 lb mono has also worked great on my Omegas.
