This video is so validating. I'm a clinical psychologist and help people to work through anxiety all the time, AND, travel is still brutal for me. I hate packing, and the logistics of flying, and not knowing how to navigate anything in a new area, and the stimulation, and constantly needing to find food, etc. I shared this video with my partner and was like, "THIS is what the inside of my brain looks like." Thank you for sharing it! ❤

This is worth posting because sometimes you pull yourself up by the bootstraps and do the stupid thing and you come out on the other side feeling exactly the same (or maybe worse) and that's real life.

Tysm for content like this - as a fellow anxious girly (with my own anxiety about certain activities) it is SO nice to see this normalized, makes me feel so seen!

So relatable! I get anxious before trips too and usually it’s fine after I’m on my way but I hate the anxious build up to leaving/packing anxiety.

I totally understand your travel anxieties. My recommendation is eat on a towel because you can always get an extra one if you spill😊

WE ARE THE SAME PERSON. I literally related to every aspect of this video. Thank you for putting this out in the world 💕
Also kudos to you for going back to your college town by yourself! As someone who also had a lonely college experience I wouldn’t have the guts to do that.

Honestly, relatable. I have never and will never want to visit New York city or any other big city. Sounds overwhelming, loud, overstimulating, and just not relaxing. Give me an empty forest or mountain any day.

I wanted to cry with you because I remember when I was going to college I hated how anxious it made me. Especially knowing that I would have presentations and do public speaking. I remember when I was pregnant the second time we were boarding the plane and I just got a mental block I couldn’t see down. I started crying because I wanted to walk off the plane. Suddenly, the plane seemed too small and I thought I was dying along with my first baby and husband. I told my husband he could go on the trip by himself. It took a lot of self talk and being reminded that the trip would be worth it to get me to calm down and sit down. Sorry I just needed to vent a lil.

The wedding you went to is where I'm getting married soon! Also when I travel I make a list *weeks* out from when I leave. And then I proceed to pack days in advance anyway.

I love New York been twice in my life and it’s my fav place: however, I completely understand why people would find it overwhelming and anxiety inducing. It’s like London for me - sometimes I go and I think god I wish I lived here and then the next time I go, I think thank goodness I live in the countryside in Yorkshire. I did live in BCN for a year and that city I do miss, but it never felt as busy as other cities and also you have the 🌊 sea super close by. 🇵🇸🍉♥️🧿🇸🇩

Imagine being from New York and wanting to visit, but New York makes you anxious. Love your loafers. I also need tea in the morning. Turmeric and anise.
I grew up uptown. Much quieter than midtown. Don’t think I could stand midtown for long. Chipotle and face mask sounds like good self care.
It’s definitely all about people. People can help you to feel calmer. The right people,
    Anyway.

Omg I have the same pre-travel anxiety. I need to also start packing days before and if it's a long trip about a week before. Also I romanticized going to New York for a trip and from what you said I don't think I'd like it either 😅

😢😢😢 I’m really anxious right now. I overthink everything. I mean every little thing. I’m also an anxious person and an introvert. I hate having people over my apartment. I overthink the cleaning and it’s already exhausting. I’m hosting a lunch party for my husband’s family tomorrow. It’s not a lot of people but I’m so anxious about it. I also have two little kids on top of preparing everything. I hate this about me. I wish I was different 😢.

Same I hate having people over because my apartment isn't perfect and I get anxious people will judge me for it ...but then friends think I'm weird/resent me for never inviting them over. It's such a small apartment anyways 🤷‍♀️ sorry you get that anxiety too. 😢

    Goose in donut mode 🍩
Even though they’ve seen worst! 😂
I also love having more time to pack 🤗
I have absolutely no desire to see New York or most big city’s. Tiny country girl 😉

I worked in NYC as a technician and had to drive around and work on generators, and the commute and driving around that city alone turned me into a person I don't like.
It was horrible. Besides the food and art, I don't give a poo about that city. It's not charming or beautiful.
