The potential heat is the reason I booked to do the C2C in Sept (although there is no promises that it won't be hot - although the first 5 days look to be OK on the BBC weather forecast) - onto Day 4
@@davidpayne2805 I start walking 3rd and walk for 2 weeks. So far the forecast looks OK with light rain predicted with less than a 30% chance (hopefully the BBC are getting it right). Still, no such thing as bad weather for walking, just poor choices of clothing. Last year I did Hadrian's wall and only had a couple of showers - I took a brolly so never needed to get the waterproofs out at all.
@@davidpayne2805 used to camp up at Edale as a lad - easy to get to from Sheffield where I grew up. How long should the PW take. I seem to be looking at longer and longer trails - last year Hadrian's Wall, this C2C. I was wondering the PW or the Dales Highway???
@@richardhunter7363 I walked PW north to south when I was 19 and we took 15 days. Crap weather for 7 days, heavy leather boots, numerous navigation errors. Planning on 17/18 walking days this time and hoping for better weather. Garmin Etrex 32 and phone should keep me on track hopefully.
Bed and beer.
Sounds good to me.
All the best.
Clive.

Walked the C2C in the middle two weeks last September. Lovely weather, no rain apart from some drizzle on Nine Standards Rig.

@@richardhunter7363 Good luck. I'm starting the Pennine Way from Edale on 2nd Sept. Might see you when our paths cross at Keld!
