LYRICS:
Verse One (John):
my name john and i’m a city cop
and i’m jus tired of these nii --- lemme not
they try to paint me as racist but see i’m really not
call me pork so i put em on they belly at every stop/
‘n they scared? what a joke how bout how i feel
check the crime rate, look at my eyes behind my shield
im scared, this is a job, this how i find my meals
so if they gon’ lie and steal ima make em lie from steel/
and i think my life do matter more
i seen too many of these people kill without remorse
used to be 3/5s of a man, but i think half is more accurate
how they celebrate savageness in a patterned form/
my family raised me not to trust em fuck you they ain’t wrong
these other cops are my brothers, and they be wishin us harm,
they told me that it’s our culture to make sure that they suffer and i can’t break the bond
it’s all i got im faithful dog/
i bleed blue like i’m a giants fan
to question my way is to stop flow in my veins
so i ain’t slowin a day, ima keep everyone safe
from these black bastards and, that’s word to my gang gang gang
HOOK:
i’m jus ridin for my gang gang gang
Gang gang gang gang gang
Gang gang gang gang
GANG
i’m jus ridin for my gang gang gang
Gang gang gang gang gang
Gang gang gang gang
GANG
America, whole lotta gang shit
America, whole lotta gang shit
America, whole lotta gang shit
Gang gang gang gang GANG
Verse Two (James):
my name’s james and i’m in the klan
my family been down for a four generation span
it’s not bout the hatred man it’s love for our nation
the white place where we took savages and enslaved and tamed em /
And these white threads as hereditary as this white skin
i ain’t have a say soon as i was of age i’s in
and if i have to, i’ll resort to violence
cuz they tryn’ shine colors in a country made for white men/
And we’re poor too
boo hoo all of you lefty’s complain about your oppression and pain
while all of these mexicans came and take all our jobs and our lanes
And i don’t blame corporatist games cuz i want the spoils and fame/
i could have more too, that could be me one day
that’s why i love trump, cuz see he see my way
we gon make america white again
cuz i don’t wanna compete with people who work harder than me cuz we all spited them/
And if i considered that how we livin is wrong
that would mean that i would have to concede that the sale and beatin of those bodies was uncalled for
that it was all the murder and rape that got us these sunday’s at the golf course
that we as heinous as they try to make us out to be why would i even try?
there’s nothin in it for me to not treat it as lie
so far as i’m concerned, all the blacks jews and the gays and the muslims and the mexicans could leave or die/
i do it all for the klan, these are my brothers
they understand me, and we all understand each other
Don’t tell me that our fathers and mothers should be ashamed
im ridin out forever for my gang gang gang gang gang
HOOK
Verse Three (Marcus):
my name marcus and i’m in the feds
i been locked up 4 years and 6 is left
i got 10 for armed robbery shit and honestly
i ain’t even wanna do it and it’s hard not to get depressed im dyin here/
was bangin colors since a youngn
was born into a gang cuz of the block that i grew up in
i done seen many die, and a few folks kill
but when the world won’t give you nothin shit, you gon’ steal/
and my gang was all i knew, brothers amongst the madness
drugs and death all around us and we was angry and callous
the gang shit was all we had we made mistakes and were misled
but why my gang got me in jail, and yours got you home in bed?/
riddle me that, my skin black it’s simple as that
the hatred you both got for me is all written in fact
of our institutions you confused and feel like gettin me back
for what? For livin poor in conditions that’s wack?/
You claim that i strike fear in you
But what you feel is you, for me to live how you’d call clean’d be a miracle
The data’s empirical, you hate it when my people march for me
But don’t you too scream cuz you feel they aint hearin’ you?/
Your whole premise is false
But i won’t waste no time tryna break your prejudice walls
Point is we all on some gang shit, loyal to what we’s taught
Believe in what was passed down our community’s theme of thought/
And i’m the only one in cuffs for it
If i get out a better man i’m still fucked for it
You turn the TV on and look, you got Trump for it
The president is in your gang bitch, and you still point at me to blame shit/
I pray that when i get out, shit aint all the same
But it’s a cold world to be alone in
When the whole place that you grown in treat you like dogs in the rain
Shit i might fuck around and call gang, gang gang gang

Top notch shit, Craft. Thanks for speaking the truth.
This is Amazing
Thank U from Paris!)
Big fan here, Craft! I used to spit and would love to see some of my unheard bars on your tracks (No charge). I did an NBA track in 2005-6 you'd like for sure. Some sample lines are "The fans in background, the ballers in the trenches, the role players waiting their turn - riding the benches. But me, I power forward like KG and Webber, so step aside Yao Ming, I'm movin' to the center." "This vision - on point like J-Kidd is, longer than Rick Smits, no breaks, 48 minutes. In this game, you call me a mainstay. My team roll with Heat, so call me Dwayne Wade. Like MJ fallin' away, call it a day. I'm Timmy Duncan on anyone who ball in my game." Plenty more where that came from - hit me up. One more for you - "I'm steady writin' like a journalist and jumpin' tracks more tracks than a hurdlist. Never heard of this? You lookin' at a star like Copernicus."
As a filmmaker, I really appreciate that you put the credits in the description. These days, it's hard enough to find out who directed a music video, let alone the actors that starred in it. Helps when other filmmakers wanna use an actor in a music video.
I was just thinking this exact same thing
And the acting is truly powerful....adds a great deal to the track no doubt. I doubt the lyrics alone could portray the different perspectives & human connection that the actors & filmmaker so superbly convey.
That shit drives me nuts man as an editor a lot of MF's just don't show credit to the tedious work that goes into editing quality content.
i was thinking this too, superb! i was totally convinced the first actor was Vincent D'onofrio and had to check it. And TADAA! there it was, in description, everything i needed.
@xo Lynn It's not just irritating but also ignorant when you do work for a underground artist, especially when they have no idea who you are connected with in the industry distribution wise. A good old fashion you scratch my back I'll scratch yours rarely exists anymore.
"if they gon lie and steal, imma make em lie from steel...."
fked up but the wordplay is insane.

You think black people were given millions of dollars to keep up with white people after slavery? Hell no
The progression of the instrumental is incredible! First verse with the organ, showing a more traditional thinking that still exists to do this day with the cop. Second verse with the fingerpicking of the guitar, expressing a more subtle sound like the KKK who are proud of who they are but they won't show themselves in public. And finally, you got the saxophone, which fits perfectly with the blues and soul usually found in black music. This song is just a masterpiece that hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves.

I'm not a fan of rap, i'm a fan of teaching the truth for our minds so we can think differently, and this makes you think.
@Alex Israel It sure is.
So true everybody just a gang of their own accord. Dope song and message.
What a load of shit .....
@@steebbrell835 Obiously everyone ain't like the song portrays, but the world can be hypicritcle af.
This is true everyone is in their own gang and you have to understand that and respect their rights to have an oppinion racsist or not thats how they feel. The 3rd verse wraps it up nicely this guy hates the song because he doesn't understand everyone was taught their own way. For me i was taught we're all human beings so i dont belong in a gang some when that gang shit protest i dont join them or agree simply because floyd was human not black
Ste Ebbrell no they’re right whether it’s a family coworkers or friends it’s a gang because that’s what a gang is essentially it’s a group of people coming together doing what they feel is necessary (doesn’t mean it is)
We r either gangsters or thugs diffrence is r u w ur crew for better or worst or we doing what we gotta do either good or bad w the world against us but forreal this song is raw
I get Joyner Lucas - Not a Racist vibes from this. Not comparing though. This is pure artistry. ✊🏿
edit: Just found out this guy is white which makes this video deeper to me.

This goes beyond color.
@@grunt2926 Agreed! and I think that was his reason for doing the video like this

@@210UnderGroundRapper have you heard about this new "punctuation, grammar, and proper spelling" trend? It's super fun, and you should try it.
It makes you look like you have more than a 5th grade education...

Not all Superheroes wear capes.
Not all Angels carry wings.
Marlon, I've been following you for a couple years now and I've loved pretty much everything you've released. This song transcends it all, stylistically, lyrically, and in how it touches upon the most poignant issues America faces today. Thank you.
Put my thoughts into words perfectly. Big facts everything you said is true.
Bookshelf of Babel exactly. Thanks.
This sums it up perfectly!
lol Don't make fun of him like that.
I love the openings of each verse. The producer really did a good job on this one!
A2Z Studio name John I’m a city cop I’m tired of these nnnnnn I better not
I’m sure someone already said this but just wanted to say from one songwriter to another, Well Done. It’s a great song. I also love the video and how it illustrates what the lyrics are about.
I wish this song got more recognition than it deserves
