    I just one 2 days ago [06/18/21] This is a nice machine. Of course I live in the Sunshine State so we only get to ride in between rain storms lol. This is my first side be side so I can't compare it others but I can say my son that is in know on them tells me it's far beyond the ones he has been around. It will max out at 70 MPH I am guessing that's really good for one. Power wise it's a Beast on both low end and flat out skinning it back down the road. Again being in Florida we have far more mud holes than most so the 4 WD is nice and a must have. Being able to lock up all 4 wheels is not only nice it's a must here. I would tell all to get one but only having it for a few days would by just bragging rights as most want some time behind the wheel before pushing a product.

      The belt system is what sets the Yamaha ahead of both the Can Ams and Polaris. Everything else is about the same. On the Yamaha the belt is under constant tension so when the clutch engages it is buttery smooth. The others have a jerky engagement. Drive them all and you'll choose the Yamaha everytime. The belts also come with a 10 yr warranty from Yamaha. The others don't.

    This can be cross shopped with a Maverick X3 and a RZR...... HECK NO it's nothing like them!!!! Are you kidding me!
    The direct competition when it comes to the 2021 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 is the Honda Pioneer 1000, Polaris General XP 1000, and maybe the Kawasaki Teryx. And the Wolverine RMAX4 would be compared to the Honda Pioneer 1000-5 and the Kawasaki Teryx4 (even though the Teryx is seriously outdated). The Polaris General XP4 1000 as you said is much longer than the Wolverine, because they did it in a different layout. Where the others I have listed have no rear leg room and no bed, the General XP4 has rear legroom and a bed storage to boot, but it is also way longer than the Pioneer, Teryx, or Wolverine. Those 3 are way more trail worthy, but I would still pick the General XP4 over them, because of comfort and storage.

    For anyone wondering the cross plane parallel twin will basically sound like a typical v twin. not like a rowdy Harly v twin , but like a smooth japanese or italian built v twin , of coarse the exact sound will be dictated by the exhaust. But you can find plenty of parallel cross plane twin engines in the motorcycle world. Also the claim that the crank was inspired by an R1 sounds like super cheesy marketing wankateering lol.

    • @brandondougan3832
      @brandondougan3832 3 года назад

      Umm..no, no they do not sound like V-twins. They are PARALLEL TWINS. Hence the name, parallel..not V-Twin. This is a faster and higher revving engine and it will sound like an R-1 unless they put a big muffler. All you have to do is add exhaust. We just got the first one off the truck.

    They should have used a bigger three cylinder like out of the mt09. But still cool!

      SXS class vehicles are essentially restricted to 1000cc motors no mater what, has to do with EPA , US forest service restrictions , registration classifications , and insurance laws.

    I have my doubts that it will be able to compete with the General. The General is a pretty badass machine. Ive seen people drive them around a track faster than a Talon 1000x. Nice machine but not the best in its class.

      Definitely an improvement. Yamaha needed this in their line up. No they need to update the yxz and give it better shocks and suspension geometry and more hp with upgraded drivetrain. They make quality products just getting out dated.

      I went on a trip with a couple that had just bought a new General 4 seater, broke down the second day of the trip -- very disappointing for everyone. This is a common theme for Polaris. I just went on a trip to Moab, my brother has a 2020 RZR turbo 4 seater. It has 600 miles on it, and on the last day I drove it for a while. It is a rattle trap, clunky, and has a harsh ride! Yamaha has Polaris beat hands-down when it comes to quality, dependability, and fit and finish. I have a 2019 YXZ SS SE with 6500 miles on it. It runs flawlessly, not rattles, no clunkiness, etc. The cab is tight as a dish. No comparison.

      My biggest problem with Yamaha yxz is the bad suspension geometry. It nose dives so bad when u jump it.

      Can confirm. The Yamaha belt drives are extremely robust and last for many miles...even under heavy abuse. This one should be no different.
