he's just really chill like dang I love how his dynamic and everyone else works bc Keith gets frustrated and enthusiastically insane and he's the opposite so it's just perfect
Shane danced on the Goat demon's bridge, stared down Annabelle the kill doll, and laid down on a pentagram inside a haunted house, clapping and yelling "Rock and roll, buckaroo" So I think it takes a lot to phase him
tbf i think it's testament to his skills in traditional art too, he was really careful with everything so he nailed putting the molds together. and the final dish was gorgeous actually
Something that would be HYSTERICAL is like a follow up/behind the scenes where the two chefs watch what happened and reacted to the guys’ choices/interpretations while cooking

Shane is perfect for this. He's calm and collected. Followed instructions properly and the things he decided to add are conservative and calculated which really, really works when you're baking something you're unfamiliar about.
I also loved that he turned into emotional support for Johnny too. And that the ice cream episode was the only one he won this season 😭. The production crew did Jen dirty last episode by letting him set the oven temp too low 😂
Shane did so good here. So surprised how artistic he is! (Actually... Why am I surprised?? He makes puppets!!). I would looove to see him go against Eugene. Eugene doesn't care about measuring, Shane doesn't care for baking/cooking but both are reeeally creative... Now that's a battle i would love to watch!

Shane had me wishing that he didn't already have Watcher going for him, because he would make such a good addition to the Try Guys. But then we wouldn't have the Watcher channel, so I guess it is for the best.

Eugene is working on a bunch of side projects, and i assume zach's infrequency is due to his and maggie's wedding. it's definitely noticeable how much its ONLY keith. i wonder how long it'll be like that
zach said on the podcast that he'd been out of the office for almost 2 months bc of sickness and is also more involved in producing these higher effort formats (like phoning it in) which leads to there just not being time to star in them. but also keith's currently on broadway for over 6 weeks so there's gonna be a good chunk of stuff released without him and he did al these pre-recordings instead. these sure some funny changing times on this channel but it's exciting to see where it goes. just think it's always interesting to hear some bts on the trypod
Zach has been out because of the wedding, sickness and he's been the one producing a lot of the episodes. You can actually hear him laughing in the background of this video 😊 they're all working super hard!
There is so much love for Jonny and Shane but I just wanna say that Monique is probably the cutest person I’ve ever seen. Her optimism and the way she answers questions is so cute. She has such good energy.
There was exactly .0000007829185817164 % chance of this happening but I’ve NEVER BEEN MORE HONORED to share a thought and recipe with such great minds !!! ✨💀✨
The fact that Rachel prompted Keith to scream off-camera right after Jonny's attempt of reassurance to Monique that everything was fine. 😂 Thank you, Chaos-Mom-Rachel, for that quality bit.
Rachel really was like an evil mastermind on this one between them both ending up doing the same thing and Johnny guessing correctly who the mystery judge might be I bet she had a blast! 😂
The irony of johnnys favorite baker was a judge, the fact that they both chose a flaming skull, and that duff call out exactly 4 mins over baked and Keith was like I’ll leave it in for another 4 mins was the the best episode ever. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Weird how both Keith and Shane's chocolate skulls match themselves in a way Keith's skull: golden, glitzy, making a statement, almost representative of his penchant for musical theatre Shane's skull: gristly texture, strangely uncanny and eerie, like something that's been left alone and rusted over decades, definitely representative of Watcher's content and Shane's morbid humor
It’s Jonny having the breakdown after realizing he was making the same thing AND ALSO sending Shane to spy on Keith what really made this a chef’s kiss~~ 😂😂
I feel like this was the best day of Jonny’s life. His cake made his idol do a fist bump, he won, and he beat a Michelin star pastry chef. Look at him go!
honestly, i hope this makes Zach happy. I watched the trypod where he mentioned that phoning it in was one of the lower rated series they have done, but that he enjoys making it so he doesnt care. I know he was dissapointed that he had to miss most of it this time, so the fact that the viewers have championed it SO hard this season - gives me all the warm and fuzzies. this was the best. Shane and Johnny are my favorite duo so far. Johnny needs to be in more videos FOR SURE.
For real, it was lower rated? I enjoyed Phoning It In a lot more than the new version of Rank Court (I liked it more when it was Rank King with Eugene)
Shane's relaxed, supportive yet still kinda chaotic and neutral, approach paired with Keith's very passionate and personal commitment? Perfect. This was an incredibly enjoyable finale. I hope we get more Monique in the future, if she's up for it!
I'd like to see Ryan on too because, while Shane has so much chill, Ryan tends to get chaotic and want to destory shit when he's frustrated. I think that'd be funny!
I’m usually not a fan of new contestants or people on the try guys that I don’t know very well, but I very much thoroughly enjoyed Shane. I was howlinggg when he said they just handout Michelin stars to make Johnny feel better. ☠️
I'd totally suggest checking out like 'Try Guys & Ghoul boys interacting' compilations if you wanna get to know Shane (and his normal partner in crime) any more and still keep it with folks you know. As a big fan of Watcher I feel like they have similar vibes, and the 'started at buzzfeed then went off to do it on their own with more creative freedoms' is obviously a good basis for that lol.
I thoroughly suggest watching Ghost Files with Shane and Ryan. I haven’t been keeping up with the recent seasons, which I probably will start now, but they’re so freaking funny. They go ghost hunting and they have good chemistry together. They have a believer and skeptic thing going on. The early ones are especially funny because they’re not used to the ghost hunting yet and there’s more freak outside.
As soon as I heard Shane say "pauper's chocolate" I died, I remember a Buzzfeed Unsolved video where he heard that word and said he wanted to use it more and he actually is 😂 I love that
16:31 very subtle but I LOVE that Shane didn't shove any fault away. He just said he didn't hear such instructions, not that Jonny didn't tell him. It's very easy in that kind of situation to be like "YOU didn't tell me, so it's YOUR fault because I couldn't have known!!", but he simply said that he didn't hear it, and moved on. Idk I just like it. Like Anne Hathaway in that one movie simply saying "I apologize" to her assistant/chauffeur (I don't remember) for insisting another route would be a shorter drive when it wasn't. No bvllshit, no excuses. If this doesn't make sense please just let me know, it's late and I'm tipsy lol
Tbf in that situation if Johhny hadn't specified a round baking pan, it _would_ have been his fault/responsibility because he's the one giving the instructions, and shouldn't assume that Shane should just know what to do (especially when Shane has never baked before). Which is why Johhny apologised for not specifying what he wanted, because it was _his_ responsibility to communicate that and he recognized that he hadn't done that appropriately (at least the way the footage was cut together, it implied that). It wouldn't have been wrong of Shane to point out that he didn't know because he wasn't told. You can call it finger pointing or whatever but its just telling the truth if that's how it went down lol. It's not an excuse if the entire point is for him to follow instructions and he wasn't given the instruction. It's important for the person who is actually responsible to take the responsibility so that there can be reasonable expectations on both sides and clearer communication from that point onward. Also all of this footage is cut down so for all we know that conversation was longer and Shane _did_ specify that he hadn't been told, or heard if Johnny had told him. So hyperanalysing it doesn't really make sense because you're analysing the editor's cut of that conversation and not the conversation the way it actually happened lol.
I totally agree. I think it's truly telling of his character, he seems really intelligent. Which I think leads him to be understanding. I miss when he did the true crime segment. (Mystery unsolved?) I wish him and Ryan would bring that back.
Keith is an incredible entertainer. He has great range, timing, he plays well with everyone and makes it look effortless. He’s the main reason I come back to this channel over and over.
Jonny and Monique having the EXACT same idea while Keith overcooked the cakes for about four minutes too long and Duff making a comment about FOUR minutes was the best amalgamation of coincidences for the finale !!! Also CONGRATS JONNY!!!!!
I loved Shane in this episode, the contrast he made with Keith with his calm nature, also the way he decided to add a cream the last minute for the cakes on his own and made the cake taste delicious is so impressive
Let me say it one more time. Keith looks like he has this channel on his back by himself. I understand that Eugeene is busy and Zach is too, so all of the guests they chose are critical to the channel. The fact that each video is VERY entertaining with less try guys shows how great everyone behind the curtain. MORE JOHNY, MORE SHANE, MORE JOSH, MORE KWESI!
I get why you feel that, but it was really about Keith taking on more here because he was going to be gone for so much of the early spring with Lewburger's off-Broadway show, while Zach was dealing with health issues and getting ready for his wedding. They ebb and flow together. The approach to 'Try-Guys Collective' is fantastic though. The best thing to come of Eugene's stepping back and Ned's departure. So much diversity.
@@easjer Hmm. True. That makes sense. But really, Keith always does every video whole-heartedly since day 1. And i think he mentioned it somewhere that indeed, everything with his face in thumbnail will have more views lol. Anyway, I love every single bit on try-guys.
Honestly all the guests they've picked in the last six months have been so great. I don't know how but they keep scoring wins with people we don't know or haven't seen in Try Guys videos before. Like you say, that says a lot about the crew, the editing and the people on the regular team who DO host. Love them so much.

Shane’s bizarre literal buttercream is probably what took it over the top for them since it completely disappeared after the skull was melted. Very lucky accident but apparently a delicious one

I'm not even halfway through the video, but I love how Jonny always meets his partner where they're at. Instead of correcting Shane that he's using an offset spatula, he was right there with him, calling it a pickle scraper 😂❤. Great teamwork!
More Duff as judge, cause he totally got the fun of the show, leaned in and looked like he was enjoying himself. This is top TV. The dual/dueling flaming skulls and the 4 minute thing are just so organic and absolutely hilarious.
Dude I'd love to see Shane back, ya'll. The fact that during the end he had no clue what to do and didn't know how to bake yet was able to make an icing that prob sealed the deal with moisture was phenomenal. I was absolutely shook that he and Johnny seized the win! :D
I can't believe n o one is talking about Keith trying to wipe the "chocolate" off of Shane's face, and Shane just taking it like a child would. So funny, but also kind of adorable. I love Keith and Shane as a duo.

I love watching Shane do this, he’s like the only one that really listens to instructions and he could legit be a good chef with how calm-minded and straightforward he is
he's just really chill like dang I love how his dynamic and everyone else works bc Keith gets frustrated and enthusiastically insane and he's the opposite so it's just perfect
He's just really used to listening to a very very nervous guy
Shane danced on the Goat demon's bridge, stared down Annabelle the kill doll, and laid down on a pentagram inside a haunted house, clapping and yelling "Rock and roll, buckaroo"
So I think it takes a lot to phase him

Was it really an accident? I thought it was set up on purpose… that’s why duff said something about that at the end?

Duff's horror and fascination at Keith's mental breakdown at the end of the episode really capped off the season in the best way possible.
The movie you talks about is The Intern
The slowly dawning realisation on their faces followed by Jonny's breakdown in the phone booth and Monique's laughter was comedy gold 😂👌
